MARCH MUSH TOURNAMENT ANNOUNCEMENT: There have been some questions whether or not we are canceling the event due to the corona virus. The tournament WILL NOT be cancelled.
HOWEVER: To stay consistent with the State of MI Health Department and WHO in decreasing the spread of germs, we are taking precautions by NOT providing lunch for this event. Please plan accordingly. The closest place to eat is around 20 mins from the park, so you will likely not have time to get something if you do not pack a lunch. We are sorry for the inconvenience this may cause some people.

Your health and safety is our top priority, therefore if you feel threatened by the corona virus and would like to withdraw from the tournament, we will provide a refund, no questions asked.

We also ask that you use common sense when interacting with others. No high fives, touching each other’s discs or anything that would increase the transfer of germs. Bring hand sanitizer as the restrooms will not be open yet (there is a port-a-john).

If anyone one has any comments or concerns, please feel free to reach out to tournament staff. Thank you all for your understanding

Round 1 is match play elimination and round 2 is stroke play to decide the Club Champ
Match-play will be held on Renegades Trail. Layout will be determined by how many players show up. Number of Matchplay rounds will be determined by how many players show up.
Final round will be 18 holes of stroke play on Rivers Edge. We will play whatever pin locations the park has set. Not sure if they moved them after Women's Nationals and not sure if they plan to.
Cash payout to the top 6 finishers, this event is only for Club tag holders.
New this year - If you do not have a tag, sorry, you are excluded from this event. This measure was passed to ensure all year long club members are rewarded for supporting the club all year and to prevent ringers from coming to try to take what someone has been a proud member of all year, The Club Championship.

Hey everyone!

As you may know, the first year of Masters Pro Worlds is happening next week in Grand Rapids, hosted by none other than our good CCR friend Nacho!! Myself, along with a few others, made an offer to Nacho to run one of the featured courses. However, now that courses are assigned and dates/times are posted, I find myself left without help.

So I'm turning to you, I would like 2-3 volunteers to help run Rotary Park on Tuesday August 15th (One round, staff arrival by noon, tee off at 2 pm) and again on Thursday August 17th (One round, staff arrival by 7am, Tee off at 9am)

Feel free to respond here, or text me if you have my number. I don't plan on staying in GR for the duration, but commuting and you're welcome to ride along with me. I think it's likely we'll receive some schwag for our time.

At the meeting we will be holding the 2017 board of directors elections so it is important that you attend if you want to have your voice heard. If you wish to run for an elected position on the board you must contact me no later than Thursday March 23rd. An old friend of mine is terminal. He needs no help nor is requesting support. He has one wish and that is for us not to morn but to remember him.

I will be hosting a Mando Discgolf tournament Sunday, October 2nd at Grand Woods park in Lansing. I will attempt raise the 750 dollars needed to purchase a bench for a CCR OG Greg Walker.

There will be CTPs and a portion of the entry fee will be payed out to those winners.

If you don't want to play and know Greg and want to stop out to show some love dos so. I'm sure he would like to see some smiling faces!

I will accept plastics donations to help with payouts and prizes. So please share. I have seen the Discgolf community do great things before so let's do it one more time.

Walk up registration and check in will be Friday, July 22, at Grand Woods from 10am - 8pm. This is when you can pick up your player pack, player guide and ask any looming questions you might have. There is no extra fee for signing up on Friday the 22nd. This check in is not mandatory, but highly encouraged as it allows the tournament staff to be better prepared.
If you still would like to play, but can't sign up til Saturday, go directly to the course your pool is playing Saturday morning. THERE WILL BE A $10 DAY OF FEE. Please bring exact change, the TDs at the courses will not be carrying a bank.

Renegades Trail Change - We have been working tirelessly to redesign hole 16 on Renegades Trail and it is nearly complete. The fairway is cut and the tee pad is marked, so anyone wanting to WALK IT is more than welcome to. The new pad will be poured this week and will be ready and playable by mid week. Currently there will be one tee pad and you will be throwing to the short pin (blue flag). Everyone will be playing the hole at the tournament. The path taking you to the hole is left of 15's long pin.
If the park staff is in there working, please do not disrupt them. They are most likely using heavy equipment and do not need the distraction.

The Dynamic Discs Two Disc Challenge is becoming a very popular event and we are excited to bring it to the Lansing, MI area! For either $20, $22 or $25, players receive their choice of ANY TWO DISCS from the Dynamic Discs, Latitude 64, or Westside Discs disc line. Players will then take the two discs they pick out and play the entire course with only the two discs they pick. At the end of the day we will award prizes to the top finishers in each division. Hello everyone! Most of the scores for last week have been posted, there are a few people I need to still get to though because there were no last initials on some of your cards. Let me reiterate what Matt said last week.

Some other scores were not posted because I need to verify with Matt what division some new players are reg'd for. Points will be coming after all that is sorted and I work some excel wizardry.

This week we will be playing 19 holes @ Grand Woods. We will NOT be playing 5 & 6, and we WILL be playing A, B, & C.

One other thing. HOLE SIGNUP & GROUP NUMBERS. We're growing as a league, which is awesome! However, it means that each week we're really pushing an 18 hole course to the limit. However, when I got the cards in and posted scores from last week I noticed nearly as many cards with five people as there were with three people.

SO! In an effort to rectify this and keep our league nights as quick and wait free as possible, score cards will not be a free-for-all.

When you see me for your card I'll ask what hole you're starting on and how many players you have. If you have three or five, we'll look at the board and see if we can make some moves and maximize our foursomes. It may be a little clunky to start, but with your help I know we can make this work.

One more thing, tags tomorrow will be weather dependent, if it's really gross out there I won't make you wait around in it any longer than we have to. See you all tomorrow!

Each room has two Queen beds, a mini fridge, and microwave (sorry no hotel pool). The price per room is $600 or $300 per person. There will be a new OPTIONAL division in singles league! This was something some of us thought of at the end of last summer as an excuse to throw some new plastic outside of what we're comfortable with. It will be scored as its own individual division outside of the normal Elite, Advanced, Intermediate, & Rec. If you decide to pay for the sanctioned rounds, you must still play those rounds with the mystery bag.

Tonight, we went through and picked 12 discs, none from the same manufacturer (no Discraft, no Innova, though we do have Discmania and DGA, and yes we know MVP and Axiom are the same company) mostly at random that should run the gamut of shot selection. IF you decide to play this division, your bag can only consist of discs from the approved list, you don't have to buy or use them all of course, and you can have multiples of the same mold, but ONLY discs from the approved list are to be used.

The only caveat (and there had to be one) is you can putt with whatever you want. As long as you are doing a putting throw (jump putts count) you can throw with your putter of choice. NO UPSHOTS.

Buy in for the division will be the same as usual, but there will be no basket for the winner as in the regular divisions, final prize is still being discussed, but talk was leaning towards a voucher (or gift card) towards some nice shoes.

So without further ado, here is the approved list:

Putters: Vibram Summit, Prodigy P2, Westside Harp
(remember you can use your own putter for putting, these are just driving & upshot putters)

Midranges: Axiom Theory, Dynamic Discs Truth, Discmania MD3

Fairway Drivers: Legacy Patriot, Latitude 64 Saint Pro, Millenium JLS

Distance Drivers: DGA Torrent, Gateway Samurai, MVP Photon

If you decide to use these discs, you are responsible for purchasing them and having them ready for the first week of league, though if you're interested, I'm definitely up for coordinating orders to save on shipping.

Players who officially request to withdraw from an event at 14 or less days from the start of the event will receive a 100% cash refund minus up to a 10% handling fee ONLY if their spot in the tournament is filled through either the waitlist or a walkup entry (if offered.) If the player’s spot is NOT filled, the TD has the choice to provide EITHER a 25% cash refund OR just the player’s pack they would have received if they had attended (minus up to 10% of the player pack value to cover handling and shipping.) The focus at Fitz will be clean up of debris from last year’s ice storm still (and we’ll probably get another one before spring!)
The Focus at Woods will be general maintenance and w/e plans there might be for the Alt holes.

Well... there were only 16 1/2 who showed, but to those who did.... Thank you! With entry fees we raised 590, plus Justin Abram donated his acepool money from Sunday Leagues to up the total to 890. Not too bad. After March Mush, I will be ordering new baskets for Fitz!!! I also spoke with the park and they are eager to get a wood-chipper out on the course this spring to clean up all the downed limbs and debris on and off the fairways. By the end of spring, Fitz will have all new tee signs, directional arrows and baskets!!!! And I will never hold another fundraiser out there again!!!!!!!!!!!!! (Unless it is not a disc golf related charity).

The 2nd CCR Winter Bag Tag League @ Burchfield officially kicked off last week! We were a little bit lax on our promotional push for week one so here is an official announcement straight from the Renegade's mouth.

Every Sunday from now until March Mush, those of us brave (and or crazy enough) to face the elements will be meeting at Burchfield park for a Noon tee off in a bag tag challenge handicap league. More detailed information can be found here:

We had a great time doing this last year with quite a few players and a fun tournament to end the season with lots of prizes and no cases of frostbite. If you are thinking about coming out at all this year (and we welcome all players to join regardless of tag membership) this week would be a fantastic one to come to, we will be playing the modified 24 hole short/short layout on Renegades Trail. This is going to be a great day to find the landmarks for the alternate holes so that when they're covered in a foot of snow, you know where the pads are.

It's that time again! First we lose the light, then we lose the warmth, but we never lose our discs!... ok that's a lie, sometimes we lose our discs too. But they're way easier to find with an annoyingly bright LED strapped to them. Assuming it stays on the disc after it hits that tree.

Glow season officially kicks off tonight! Tee off will be 7:30 @ Grand woods, get there early if you need lights, (I believe Mitch should have some for sale) the format is random flip doubles with a $5 buy in, optional $1 extra for the Jeff Dutka Ace pool.

Possibly a little rainy tonight, but come out and enjoy warm rainy glow golf before it becomes cold snowy glow golf! :-D

This Saturday at Hawk Island park in Lansing, I need someone to help demonstrate the sport of disc golf to a bunch of kids for the Lansig area. This is a part of the touch a truck day at the park. Many big rigs will be there for kids to play in and we've been invited to set up and show the youth what our game is all about.
The day is Saturday the 13th. Time, 11 am to 3 pm. I'll be out there by 1215, I just need someone to be out there to get things rolling while I'm at work. Message me if you can help!!

We now have 18 real life cement tee pads at Fitzgerald Park!!! The newest 9 that were poured today will not be playable for another week... so be patient. Next up, tee signs and directional arrows.

This years Singles League Party will be Sunday Sept 21st. We will party it up at Grand Woods beginning at Noon. We will have distance and putting competitions awards and some probably drunk doubles!!
Tag Challenge will be Sunday Sept 28th. We will begin at 10 am at Grand Woods Park. We will do match play for the elimination round and the final round will be stroke play to determine the winner. Lets get ready to crown an new Club Champ!!!
