The second annual CCR Winter Bag Tag Challenge.
The Challenge: To contend with the elements for 18 weeks of cold-weather disc golf!
Description: The CCR Winter Bag Tag Challenge is a handicap and points-based tag challenge league. Players will collect points over the 18 week season, ending in a Final on March 15!
Tags: Tags are $15. We will use temporary tags throughout the season. Official metal tags will be awarded after the Final!
Tags will be awarded by score with your factored handicap.
Ties will favor the player who arrived with the lower tag, or CTP for week 1.
NEW! Handicap System: Each player will need 3 rounds to establish a handicap, and rounds will drop off after 5 weeks. Learn about the system here: http://www.centraliadiscgolf.com/discgolf-handicapping.pdf
Points: Points are awarded weekly and are earned by:
Did you show up (with your tag) and play? 2 points! (just 1 point if you forget your tag!)
Did you win a better tag after the round? 2 points!
Did you at least leave with the same tag you brought? 1 point!
..Got a higher tag, huh? No points for you.
* Win the round?! 1 bonus point for all players in first (based on handicap).
Final: CCR Winter Bag Tag Challenge Final: March 15 at 10am!
Each player competing against their most recent handicap on 24-Hole Layout and TBA Layout (depends on weather) for bonus points!! You will gain 1 point for each stroke under and LOSE 1 point for each stroke over. At the end of the final round, the player with the most TOTAL POINTS is the winner! Ties after the Final will be settled in sudden death playoff, reasonable safari holes agreed by the other players. The winner will receive the official #1 tag, as well as some manner of prize(s). There will be prizes for Second and Third place winners as well as all other Final participants. The official tags will be distributed by points standings.
Layouts: Our go-to layout will be a 24 hole version of Short-Short. While the ground is clear, we will be changing it up, mixing and matching layouts and courses!
We will cancel rounds in the following conditions:
The temperature and/or wind chill are below 0°F.
Severe weather, lightning overhead.
Impassible roads
Snow deeper than about 24-30â€.
Be responsible:
Consider the road, course and weather conditions.
Keep yourself safe and warm.
Rounds cancelled last winter:
ZERO.
