Welcome to the first annual CCR Winter Bag Tag Challenge!
We will be playing every Sunday at 1:00pm from November 10, 2013 til March 9, 2014 at Burchfield Park. No commitments for December 22 & 29, of course. Enjoy your holidays!
We will meet in the winter sports lodge next to Rivers Edge hole 1.
We will be playing “normal†layouts (mostly), Short-Long, Long-Short or Rivers Edge. Over the course of the 16 weeks, will need to record 3 rounds for each player on Short-Long and River’s Edge for the CCR Winter Bag Tag Challenge Final. More on that further down the page.
Concerning weather, this league is called the CCR Winter Bag Tag Challenge for a reason - it could very well be cold out there! We will cancel rounds in the following conditions:
The temperature and/or wind chill are below 0°F.
Ice storms/hazardous roads.
Lightning overhead.
If there’s just too much snow. Ribbons WILL be allowed on your discs.
We will play Short/Short if the weather is very miserable, but doesn’t fit the conditions above.
Description:
The CCR Winter Bag Tag Challenge is a points-based tag challenge league. Bring your tag & play! Tags will cost $10 and will be available before the round. For the best chances to win, join by Nov 24th!
Weekly points will be awarded as follows, and are intended to encourage participation at our scheduled rounds, as well as individual challenges on the days inbetween.
You earn points in the following way:
Show up with your tag and play the round: 2 points! (just 1 point if you forget your tag!)
Show up with a better tag than you left with the week before?: 1 bonus point!
Win a better tag at the end of the round?: 2 points!
Successfully defend your tag: 1 point!
Get a worse/higher tag? Zero points for you!
Tags will, of course, be awarded by score. Ties will favor the player who arrived with the lower tag. First week ties will be settled by arm wrestling or cocoa chugging.
Players will collect points in this way over the 15 week season (16th week is the Final!). Players will be given the benefit of TWO missed weeks. Any player who does collect points on more than 13 rounds will have the two lowest scoring weeks dropped.
Bonus points and Tag Average:
Additional points will be awarded at the end of the 15 weeks before the Final. These are based on your Tag Average. We will average everyone’s tags (the one you arrive with AND the one you leave with) over the 15 weeks and award points as follows:
Top 20%: 5 bonus points
21-40%: 4 bonus points
41-60%: 3 bonus points
61-80%: 2 bonus points
Bottom 20%: 1 measly bonus point
CCR Winter Bag Tag Challenge Final:
We will use each players recorded rounds (at least 3) on Short/Long and River’s Edge to establish an Average. That Average will be the player’s par for the Final.
Note: If we record more than 3 rounds on either layout, the worst round will be dropped, followed by the best round.
For each stroke you beat your Average, you will gain two points, and for each stroke OVER your Average, you will lose one point.
At the end of the final round, the player with the most TOTAL POINTS is the winner! They will receive the #1 tag, as well as some manner of prize(s). There will be prizes for Second and Third place winners as well. The rest of the tags will be distributed by total points standings.
Ties after the Final will favor the player with the lower Tag Average. In the case of a points AND Tag Average tie, a sudden death 9 hole short / short playoff will decide the winner.
