This is the course where we decided to go out a get a few of these discs to start learning & playing the game for ourselves, just a few weeks ago. We came back here for our 3rd official game to play with our daughter and her boyfriend. We had a great time enjoying this game together with some technical shots amongst the many trees. Maps were a great help in seeing where the baskets are located. The only drawbacks currently, are the amount of leaves on the ground due to the time of year, so we defintley had to keep our eyes on our landing shots, for once they slide under the leaves, it's almost impossible to find them. Lots of groups playing here, so you defintley have to watch for flying Discs too, no dilly dallying, my bad for I was loving on some of the great trees that a few of the course hole shots are named after. (Sentinel Pine & Giant Beech) LoL Good times and best of all Hubby came in first place, beating our buds who have played quite a bit more and who are also 30 years younger.

Suwanee Creek is a blast to play. The lines on the course on several holes IMO are not the truest. However, the course is fair. This course will mainly test your short game. Not destination worthy, but if you live in Gwinnett or nearby, it's definitely worth spending a round or two at Suwanee Creek.

I have played this since it opened. As the paths have worn in, and minor improvements were made, it has become a nice course. It could be frustrating to new players though, and 15, 16, 17 are quite difficult. It's one of those courses where on a lot of holes, if you veer off the fairway, you could end up with a double (or worse) if you aren't careful.

Nice course with very nice concrete tee pads and very good signage. A couple of holes had a longer tee option, which I did play. LOTS of trees to hit, and running/hiking trails do share the same pro ... show more ›

Nice course with very nice concrete tee pads and very good signage. A couple of holes had a longer tee option, which I did play. LOTS of trees to hit, and running/hiking trails do share the same property. Course had good flow, and presents good opportunity to work on forehand shots and short game. Easy to play all 18 in an hour.

OLD SCHOOL! This is a short technical course with a challenging mix of straight, right and left lines from tee to green. What the course lacks in length it more than makes up for with very tight driving windows. Most holes have a multiple lines to the hole, with some very challenging risk vs. reward lines. Well designed with good flow, I'd suggest parking by hole 14 and starting on hole 13 (pull in the park and turn left, go past the pavilion at hole 1 to the last parking lot. Follow the arrows on the paved walking path to hole 13).
For someone who started playing Folf at the old Chastain park, this brings me back to my youth, it is possible to go low and birdie every hole but poorly executed shots will be punished.
I was not surprised to see John David listed as course designer, this course bears his signature on each hole individually and collectively. A seamless integration into the park, almost as if it started with the course and the park developed organically around it.
I would easily give it an A+ in my book, but realistically I know the young "bucks and does" will miss the opportunity to air out a bomb 350'+, I don't think there is a single hole over 300'. If there were a couple of holes that were longer and open it could be a masterpiece.
The course is well marked and easy to navigate, walkers and bikers share the trails with golfers, but I observed they were very considerate and willing to yield to golfers. On many holes my group was playing in front of an impromptu "gallery" and they seemed genuinely interested in watching us throw.
If your game is strictly power off the tee and putting, you will not like this course. If your game is balanced with power, finesse, and mental approach then you will enjoy the challenge.
