Amateur payouts are available at the Maverick Disc Golf store in Olathe. We keep them in a spreadsheet at the store. If you want an online code, you'll need to ask for one. Online codes do not cover shipping.

Pro payouts can be made either by
1. Check mailed to you - free
2. Check picked up at the store - free
3. PayPal Goods & Services - player pays fees.
4. Maverick vouchers in order to retain amateur status.

I'm super excited about this year's Maverick Disc Golf Series. You'll want to read this!

You can earn a free or reduced price entry in to the Maverick Disc Golf Championship simply by playing in Maverick DG tournaments throughout the year.
You need 12 points for a full free entry and 8 points for a 1/2 price entry. Each tournament awards points based on the PDGA tier of the event.
B-tier: 3 points
Two Round C-tier: 2 points
One Round C-tier: 1 point

Additionally, there will be a MDG Series trophy for the winner of each division for the whole year. Your top 6 events are used for the division series. You can read more about it here:

Finally, our entire Maverick Disc Golf series has a common theme throughout which is very fun. Every tournament flyer, player pack and event trophy will be based on famous or influential album covers. Each tournament will have the stamp based on the album cover and a mini-record that will be very cool. So far, we are using covers from the following artists:

Welcome to the Spring Training Disc Golf Tournament!

If you are receiving this email because you used your email when signing up another player for the event, please forward this info to that player.

DIVISIONS / DATES:

This will be a flex start on Saturday, Feb. 28. What this means is you can start anytime between 10am - 2pm.

Even though this is a flex start, this is a PDGA sanctioned event. By signing up in this event you agree to play by PDGA rules. Alcohol or recreational drugs are not allowed and will cause you to be disqualified. The course is on school property. Please do not abuse this so that we can return to Prairie Pass for future events.

LATE WITHDRAWAL / NO-SHOW

Refunds are available until 10AM Sunday, 2/28. PayPal and dgscene fees are not refundable. To cancel, text or call your name and division, with comment you are canceling to 785-764-2229.

PARKING -
Please use the school parking lot. There is no parking in the street.

RESTROOMS

THERE IS NO PORTABLE RESTROOM AT THE COURSE. Blue Valley school district that owns the property will not allow portable restrooms on their property. In order to have the restrooms in the school available, the fee would have made this event not feasible.

CHECK-IN

Check-in with EJ in-between the parking lot and hole 1 before you begin. You will need at least 3 people on your card, but not more than 5. DO NOT HAVE CARDS GREATER THAN 5. You can create your own card or we can pair you up with a card. If you are a card of 4 and there is a solo player, I may add them to your card. It is OK to mix divisions on a card but be aware that some divisions use different tee pads.

SCORING

We will be using the PDGA digital scoring system. (This is not Udisc). To access it, go to pdga.com/score or download the PDGA app called ‘PDGA Live’. Enter in the password, then your last name or PDGA number. You can then add other players to your card. There will be a few paper scorecards as a backup. However, to submit the scores, it needs to be done through the PDGA scoring system.

CADDY BOOK - UPDATED

There is a map at the course parking lot. Regarding OB rules, we will use what the tee sign says with the following exceptions:
In all cases, over any fence is OB. Play from where it was last inbounds.
For some of the holes, the sidewalk is not out of bounds - the curb is out of bounds. In order to be in bounds regarding the curb, your disc must be touching grass. If it is leaning on the curb in the street but not touching grass, the disc is OB.

COURSE CONDITIONS

There are no known adverse conditions.

PLAYER PACKS

This is a no frills tournament. The only divisions that will receive a player pack is MA3, FA3, and all junior divisions. Those divisions will not have additional payout. All other payouts will be available at Maverick Disc Golf in Olathe starting on Monday.

The player pack discs are an assortment of discs from various manufacturers. Some are from previous tournaments, misprints, or clearance discs.

WATER

There will be no water on the course. Bring enough for your whole round.

ACE / CTP FUND

100% payout for anyone that scores a '1' on their card. If there are multiple aces, they will be split evenly between all players. If no aces are hit, all of it will go towards the Maverick Disc Golf Championship in November. The ace fund is per Pool (Long and Short pools)

PAYOUTS

Amateur Payouts are redeemable at the store. If you want an online payout code, you will need to proactively request one.

All payout vouchers for all Maverick DG vended tournaments in 2026 expire 12/31/2026.

My son wants to compete in mj12, and he’d really like to be on the same card with a peer or two. Given that the tournament is a flex start, I was wondering if any of the other parents had an idea of what time their boys would be playing, and if their son would want to be paired up with my son.
