After seeing a bunch of these great events Fill in Minutes, to me it felt like folks were being left out of the Events world.

With some thought, some help, and a bit of some extra planning, I have come up with a way to expand a Field larger than any other that we have had here in the Shenango Valley and to insure that most EVERYONE that would want a PDGA Rated Round at either course, an awesome player pack, and 2 days of fun with friends.

2021 is the Year EVERYONE SHOULD PLAY!

With Scheduled Tee Times and 2 Courses, we will be able to host 320 Players in a Flex Start 2 Round Event!
Each course will host 19 Holes of Play! Tee Times will be no longer than 12 Minute intervals and last Tee will be at 5pm.

Registration will go Live on March 13th at 7pm EST.
This is a Pro C / AM B Tier 2 Round - 2 Day Event.
We will be allocating the Registered Fields into 2 Pools.
A Pool - Pines Saturday > Buhl Sunday
B Pool - Buhl Saturday > Pines Sunday

WE are currently looking for Sponsors to help with AM Player Packs as well as some Added Cash for the Pro Purse!
(Sorry Pro's but we didn't have the resource's to make sure we had the added cash to make it a B Tier through and through prior to the event.)

After long thoughts and discussions, We have decided to Postpone the Sheetz presents the 8th Annual SVDGOpen powered by Prodigy until 2021.

With the Covid Closures and our Sponsors just not having the ground to stand on this year. It has made it really tough to raise the added cash as well as the other funds needed to host an event you have come to expect.

At this time we are unsure when The PDGA will allow PA to resume sanctioned play. Every great event involves weeks and months of preparation. Unfortunately, with so many uncertain when businesses will open, we cannot guarantee the value of the player packs our players have become accustomed to.

With that said we will be offering FULL Refunds to ALL Players on the List or on the Waitlist as well we are offering Players to Transfer their Registration to The Maynard pt 3.

As a Player you have 2 Options to choose.

1.) Full Refund - Head over to DGScene.com/SVDGO20, find your name on the list, and click "Refund" and we will process your Refund in a Timely Fashion.

Who is ready for some League Play? Well... sort of....

“Wednesday in the Pines Virtual League”
is a Singles league, featuring A Pool, B Pool and C Pool.

League will be played at The Pines Disc Golf Course with 1 round played for the league.

League Play will begin at 8am through 8pm. This 12 Hour window will allow more opportunity for players to find a card and play while keeping with social distancing guidelines.

Players may choose their card/group of 3-4 Players or will be matched with Players in available time choices.

Attention Disc Golfers!!!
The Pines Disc Golf Course at Shenango River Lake has reopened as of 8am EST May 8th 2020!
As you can tell I was pretty happy to tear this Sign down.

The sign has been removed and the Park has reopened the course.

Social Guidelines are still in place and the Park is asking that Players limit to 4 Players per Card/Hole at a time. Please do not congregate in parking lots, shelters, or while on the course. Masks are encouraged but not mandatory.
Please continue to be cautious and safe while playing. Thank you again for your patience through these times.

Also I have not been able to maintain the course.. so keep that in mind that there might be some shaggyness going on. Also I have Tee Areas marked out with flags. Please be kind and keep the flags where they are.

Wednesday Night in the Pines Unofficial Rounds Cancelled - Season Postponed until Further Notice.

Due to the rising concern over the Covid-19 Virus and keeping Social Distance for the next 2 weeks as was ordered by the Governor.

We will be Cancelling - Wednesday Nights in the Pines Unofficial Rounds for March 18th as well as March 25th.

We will resume with our Regular Season Start tentatively April 1st.

We do apologize for the inconveniences this may cause, but the safety of our Administrators as well as Players is our Top Priority.

We hope you will join us hopefully on April 1st!!!

Due to the last few hours of intense rain and muddy conditions. We reluctantly will be postponing Wednesday Night in the Pines League.

We will host Week 5 of our PDGA Rated League next week when conditions are a bit drier and safer for players. The muddy conditions can make for bad footing and we don't feel it safe for the players to play.

If you would like to still play, the radar looks to be letting up, but we will not be hosting an Official League tonight.

Dynamic Discs and Latitude 64 are proud to present the 2019 United States Amateur Match Play Championships (USAMPC). At the end of this event, we will be proud to crown a United States Amateur Match Play Champion in Emporia, Kansas. We will be running this event both for singles and doubles. The singles event will take place from March to June and the doubles event will take place from July to September.

Player Info – Singles
NEW for 2019!
Competitors who win their local bracket but do not win their state bracket will have the opportunity to come to Emporia! We will have a stroke play tournament on Thursday, June 20 for all these competitors to qualify for any available empty slots in the national bracket that begins Friday, June 21. For example, if there are 58 state winners, that leaves 6 open slots in our bracket of 64. The top six scores will determine who will make the national bracket. Ties will be played off if necessary.

Also new for 2019, state bracket winners will receive $1,000 in store credit at the Dynamic Discs retail store, instead of the $500 cash provided last year.

In addition to the B-Tier scheduled on Saturday, there will also be a flex start C-Tier scheduled for both Friday and Sunday for competitors not moving through the bracket.

This year, we will offer up to 16 unreleased Latitude 64 Opto Moonshine Keystones per bracket at $10 each for local and state TDs.

Who?
Current PDGA member guidelines – Disc golfers rated 969 or below as of January 1, 2019. All amateur disc golfers can play regardless of their rating (even if it is above 969). New members who do not have a current PDGA rating are also eligible to compete.
Non-current PDGA members – Disc golfers who have never been rated 970 or above.
Non-PDGA members – Disc golfers who are not current PDGA members or are so new to the PDGA that they do not have a rating are eligible to play in the event.

What?
Local USAMPC singles qualifier match play brackets will be held throughout the United States and Canada in April. A list of these events can be found on the UDisc app (coming soon!). Players that meet the qualifications described above can pay $45 to compete in one of these brackets. Please contact the TD to get more information on local details. The Local Qualifying Bracket may be conducted over a few days or over the period of a few weeks. The Local Qualifying Bracket TD will determine the timing of when the brackets need to be played. The $45 entry fee is a one time cost. Players will receive a Dynamic Discs Lucid-X Escape and Latitude 64 Zero Medium Keystone in their player pack. If a player advances to the next levels, there are not additional entry fees. Winners of Local Qualifying Brackets will move on to the State/Province Bracket. Winners of the State/Province Bracket will move on to the Championship Bracket in Emporia, Kansas (June 20-23, 2019).

Where?
Bracket TDs will establish the locations for the Local Qualifying Brackets matches.
State or Provincial Coordinators (or a designee) will establish a date and location prior to Local Qualifying Bracket matches.
The Championship Bracket will be hosted in Emporia, Kansas.

Why?
Match play is an exciting way to compete as a disc golfer. Match play has grown in popularity and the unique format provides an opportunity for using a different strategy than what disc golfers typically employ playing traditional stroke play. The event also allows amateurs another opportunity to experience tournament disc golf at the highest level.

How?
Look for a bracket near you and sign up to play! Players can sign up for brackets on February 15th! Registration for players will conclude on April 1st. Sign up here! You can now pay through UDisc once you register! You will have 10 minutes to pay for your spot. Until then, your spot will be pending and will be removed after the time frame ends. This will help alleviate any stress of making your payment physically.

Less than 2 Weeks out for our first Borderline Discs "Show&Throw1" - Flex Start

We hope you can join us!

These are Individual Professional Disc Golf Association C-Tier Events

"Flex Starts" are a convenient way to play a Rated PDGA Tournament round without committing an entire day!

Choose your Tee Time, Pick up Players to make a card of at least 3, Play Your Round, Submit your card and wait for the day to end. At 8pm on April 28th we will have the payouts and ratings posted.
Payouts will be Paypal or Check for Pro/Open Players. Merchandise for All Amateur Payouts will be ready for pickup at 8pm April 28th at Borderline HQ in Sharpsville PA.
Also a Gift Code for Online Inventory will be available to ALL Am Event Winners.

Players are encouraged to find other players that are playing the same tee set but is not mandatory to do so to fill a card. A mixed card of divisions is allowed only if they follow their Divisions Tee Layout.

10 Minute Intervals of Tee Times will start at approximately 9:00 AM April 28th and run until 5:00 PM. Last Tee Off is 5:00 PM.

Pre-Registration is required either by following the registration link or contacting us, Borderline Discs, the Shenango Valley Disc Golf Alliance - SVDGA, or Trevor Murphy; Tournament Director, directly.

There is no Player Pack for this event and is why the cost per event is lower.

Winter Chill 3 Season Opener is TODAY!!
Join us on this 14 week Handicap Points Series Journey as we embark on Buhl DGC for a Winter Throwdown of Fun and Excitement. Players will use their best 3 scores overall to adjust a handicap score. Points are earned by attendance (1pt weekly or 2pt Saturday league) and Points for beating players weekly with adjusted scores.
Not able to make it Saturday? Don't worry! Get out with another League Member during the week before and "Play it Forward" and still get your weekly score in.
We will be paying out the top 50% of the Field at the end of the 14 week series.
Saturday's will also feature CTP's and or Side Games thanks to Borderline Discs.
$35 one time League Fee.

Tournament Update

I am reluctant to announce that we will be going back to a Shotgun Start on Saturday July 15th. May it be over confidence, lack of registered players, or delusions of grandeur LOL.

Players are asked to Check In at the scheduled time. Tournament HQ will be at the Top of the Main Parking Lot. An EZup with the SVDGOpen Banner will be flying.

I do believe Staggered Tee Times would be a better concept with a larger field. I wanted to eliminate the long wait on lunches and try and get players back out onto the field to be able to enjoy their second round while not getting "cold" during the wait.

Staggered Tee Times with the amount of players would only drag out the day longer for some. A shotgun start will allow for a quicker day with the amount of registrants as well as allow the opportunity to keep the registration open longer as well as allow Day Of registrations.

I want to thank you all that have signed up in hopes of the Staggered Tee Times and look forward to trying it maybe next year with a larger field. As a token of my appreciation I am opening up the $5 OFF per registration for the remainder of Registration for each player.

If you did not get a discount at Registration, you will be paid back $5 at Check In on Saturday.

Also due to low numbers, I am opening up for the first time, Cashless Pre Registration for all players as well as Day Of Registration.

This is still going to be an awesome event with a Free Lunch and a Sunday Long Distance Competition for all Divisions sponsored by Sheetz. Borderline Discs will also be sponsoring a Putting Competition before the awards ceremony.

The Zuca Cart just arrived and we will be raffling it off to one lucky player. Each player will receive 2 Tickets for the raffle in their players pack. Player Pack value is $45!!

I always look out for the player and again apologize to those that were looking forward to this innovative tournament style. I am also issuing refunds (minus paypal fees) to all players that are upset with the last minute change.

Well folks after 8 grueling days of slaying some concrete.. we finally got all 56 Pads Poured in time for our Early Bird Open 2017!!!!

54 Pads on the Course (Red, White and Blue) as well as 2 Pads for our Warm Up Driving Area!!!

I would like to take a moment and thank all of the folks that were involved and devoted some time to this project.

First I would like to thank Buhl Park for allowing us this opportunity to grow the sport in the valley and take it to the next level. Such a wonderful setting for an awesome course!

Next I would like to thank the Shenango Valley Disc Golf Alliance - SVDGA for supporting my vision and dreams to get things going in the valley. Without you... I would be lost!

I would like to also give a big thanks to the Primary Health Network Charitable Foundation Crew for stepping up to help us with the project. Mark, Ryan, Roy, and Sean are really some amazing folks and proud to say that I got to work beside you all. Thank you for your support!

Now comes the HUGE Thank You's to Regis Stump and Dan Wolfe who volunteered in directing us in this major project. Their concrete skills and knowledge are incomparable and I thank you both for you dedication day in and day out to make the drive up from Beaver County to get the job done. Due to being rained out on the Buhl Park Tee Pad Week Day2. And with tomorrow being 57 and Sunny.

We are calling for all hands on deck to help make up a day on this project.

We have equipment and folks to run it. Since we are a day behind we could really use the extra manpower/womanpower to get the job done.

We will be spreading stone, back fill frames, and other miscellaneous jobs they may have for us.

We have 33 Pads already excavated using an excavator. 12 Forms laid. A few tons of gravel yet to lay and then we plan to bring on the concrete Truck.

Come out and lend a hand anytime between 8am and 7pm at Buhl Park Disc Golf Course. We would all truly appreciate it.

I will not be able to host Tomorrow Night's League so therefor I regret to say that it will be canceled.

Buhl Park Disc Golf Course will be CLOSED from Monday March 27th 2017 until Monday April 3rd 2017 due to the excavation and construction of 54 - 5ft x 12ft concrete tee pads. We do apologize for the inconvenience this may cause.

For the past few weeks calibrations and adjustments have been made. We are planning to add an additional 20+ Anchor Locations as well as a 3 Basket Putting Practice Area among other amenities.

The layout has been adjusted slightly with major changes happening to #4 Blue Tee, #5 Blue Tee, #6 Blue Tee, #7 Blue, White, and Red, #8 Red, #9 White/Red as well as #10 and #11.

Holes #10 and #11 have been moved entirely to make for a better layout and more consistent flow. These new holes will bring even more of a challenge than to the previous layout.

#10 is currently Playable to Current #10 Basket. It is not however in the correct position and please be cautious of other players that yet know of the Change happening.

You will notice Orange Boxes around approximate Tee Locations as well as a colored flag for each corner of the pad.

The Course is currently marked and we will be hosting a Sunday Funday Doubles Calibration Round for all of you who would like to help out with some minor adjustments and or suggestions. Come out and be a part of History!!!

This has been a long time coming and I am really proud of our club. Here is to a great beginning to 2017!! Thank you to everyone that has been involved with this project! We are forever grateful!!!

Today we morn the loss of a Club Member and Player, Robert J Weber. We would like to send out our condolences and prayers to his family. He was an amazing friend and SVDGA Family Member. One of our Club Founders as well as instrumental in the development of our 3 Courses.

Rob passed away yesterday from unknown causes playing the sport he loved. He was 44yrs old.

Please take a moment today and pray for the strength of his family during this time. We will keep you all posted when arrangements are made.

You will be greatly missed my friend. I am without words. You were not only a great player and friend, but a key person in our SVDGA Family.

Bag Tag 2017/2018 Challenge is upon us!!!

If you are a current Bag Tag Holder or someone New to the Club that wants in on this next year of the Tag Challenge then follow the link below.

This year our Tags will run from March 18th 2017 until December 31st 2018!! 22 Months of Tag Challenges as we reset our clock to a Yearly Tag Membership! This year is the year to get in!!!

This year we will be going with a full metal medallion tag like our 2016 Season. The cost for the Bag Tag League will be $15 for New Players and $10 for Current Bag Tag Holders (You also must have participated in at least 10 - 2016 Bag Tag Rounds)

We will also be hosting a Friday Night Bag Tag Battle Royal that will playout as a Traveling League between The Pines, Buhl DGC, and The Springs weekly. There is no cost for this league. It is open to all players whether they have a Tag or not.

Also we will be refining our Bag Tag Challenge Rules a bit. More info to come on the decisions.

Tomorrow we will be gathering at the pavilion at Tee #14.. We will be trimming and manicuring the Back 9. If we can have some volunteers stop out and help, that would be amazing! Hopefully in the next few weeks we will also need help with doing some Tee Pad work. Please comment or send us a message if you are available to help! But we wanted to let you all know about our Handicap Points Series that will fire back up in August and run through to the SVDGOpen!!! 11 Weeks of some of the most amazing play on the course!! Who wants to help me ‪#‎GrowtheSport‬??? Weather Permitting!!

Friday April 4th at 6pm

I will be hosting a random Disc Golf Demo at Buhl Park in Hermitage PA. We will have a few practice baskets up, demonstrating Distance, Skill and Putting. We will have plenty of plastic around for Newcomers to join in the fun! We will be handing out information about Disc Golf, Pymatuning Disc Golf Course, and talking about 2015 PDGA Pro Disc Golf World Championships.

This is a total "FUN-RAISER"!!!!!

We will be awarding Prizes to our Top Throwers!!! So Come out and Help to Grow the Sport!!!

We will be out near Pavilion #3, just look for the Green Oval EZ Up with the banner that reads "DISC GOLF DEMO"

Fun for the WHOLE FAMILY!!! Beginners are ENCOURAGED to come! All Skill levels are Welcome! Let's help #GrowtheSport in the Shenango Valley!!!

This Saturday we will be having a Clean Up Round out at Pymatuning!! The course really took a hit this winter and we need to get out there and clean up some debris, set some temporary bridges, and give some course love all together!!

We will be meeting at Shelter #4 on Main Park Road. Between the front and back 9's at 11am! There will be a few of us out there about 9ish getting started.

We will also be discussing the Keystone Classic and the SVDGOpen, as well as upcoming leagues and not to forget to mention our participation and involvement of the 2015 PDGA World Championships!!
