It’s Jive Turkey time!
We are doing it again, this is year #7!

We will be starting at 9am Saturday November 24, 2018 with sign ups beginning about 8:15/8:30am.

This is a chance for you to play one round of 18 at Cascade Gateway in a 3 Headed Monster format with 2 of your best buds!

I’m gathering items now and I’m hoping I’ll have enough for there to be a CTP/long putt on every hole. Each hole will either be an opportunity for the advanced or intermediate divisions for there to be as many winners as possible.

Cost:
$5 per person this gives you a chance to win something.
BUT if your team just wants to play for fun you are more then welcome to come. You just will not be able to win prizes.

DIVISIONS:
Intermediate and Advanced
Please be honest when forming your team and put yourself in the correct division. If need be I’ll move you if you are obviously an Advanced team and you are signing up for Intermediate. (Basic rule to follow: 2 or more Advanced level players will get you into the Advance field)


As always we will be taking non perishable food item donations for Marion-Polk County Food Share.
Let’s show everyone that disc golfers are a giving group of people!

Starting tomorrow July 9th and going thru Thursday the 12th the main entrance at Wheatland DGC will be completely closed due to construction. They are replacing the culverts in the roadway. Course will be accessible from the Wheatland Ferry entrance and walking in. Just be aware all park goers will be using the same parking lot it might be full/busy

OK me and Brad finally got it up we have got the Psych Ward Club for Thursday league at the hospital.
Come follow us to see the newest information on Thursday Salem local league which is usually nothing LOL
We have divisions based on people to show up usually just pro and am but we will also alternate playing doubles also which
Today we might do our first. You don't have to pay to play that is just for the competitive side of some of us. Four dollars is buy in which goes to hundred percent payout and one dollar for the ace pot. Look forward to expanding the local Salem area Disc golfers. We also want to give back to the Salem hospital and so soon I'll be throwing a tourney which will have buy in of like 20 and 4 used older discs. The discs will be donated to the hospital in effort to better their play and expand the disc options. Also I talked with Jeff and he said if we could give the paitience right away everytime and no vaping or smoking on property. Thank u for the time and hope to see u out there

The basket installation at the Oregon State Hospital has been completed. Minor bonus update will be added in the next few weeks (Tee markers with distances). We were able to get a lot done today with the incredible help of the City of Wilsonville that brought out manpower and equipment to make the job so much easier. Plus they scheduled a "work in the park" day and an unknown amount of people, (maybe 75?), showed up to to give of their time to do a HUGE AMOUNT OF CLEARING and other odd jobs around the park!!!!

Wilsonville will soon have a 9 hole beginner/family friendly course and 2 baskets to warm up on or play "horse". Because the City is fully behind the course and there was a lot of help today from the community to do what was needed.

Attention everyone!

Starting next Tuesday April 12th. We will begin our spring series of work parties to benefit both Wheatland DGC and Keizer Rapids DGC. They will start at 3pm and we will work until 6pm, (7 at the max). Please bring any and all hand tools, wheelbarrows, weed eaters, and gloves you can to help get the job done!! The more helpers the shorter the work days!

Even if can only help for an hour, everyone that plays the courses will appreciate your efforts!

So we will start out with Wheatland being first on list.

Tasks will be clipping the "suckers" down around the trees & weed eating around everything on 18.
Cleaning up trees and the green on 1.

It's going to be a great place to view the Lunar Eclipse. The moon shoud be eclipsed for most of the round. Next lunar eclipse at Apogee (closest part of orbit to earth, and thus largest appearing moon) will be in 2033 (and who knows what the weather will be like THAT night? I'll be 60y/o and probably KILLING Senior Grandmaster Divisions!) Viewing conditions are perfect for tonight, and it'll be a "balmy" 60 degrees out. The park is open until 10pm, so this is fully legit (no need to wear camo).

Don't miss out on this, it's going to be epic!

Update:

Had a few things that have slowed me down this week, sorry.

But I'll be out Friday afternoon to replace missing tee signs with more temporary signs. (We are finalizing the permenant tee signs now)

Next week we should have the permenant walk out signs in place.

A couple of garbage cans will be installed on the course, also hopefully by the end of next week.

The kiosk has beer delayed. So we are thinking of putting up a temporary kiosk.

And finally the netting to protect the Host Site should be up in the next several weeks too.

The new Toledo DGC install was totally vandalized recently and needs repair work to redo damage and finish install. A small group of folks are working hard on this project over there and have new supplies ready to start over. I am looking at going over Sunday the 27th this month to assist with this project. If anyone not busy and would like to help out and carpool over let me know please. More details to follow, just trying to get word out to all. Thank you.
