Hi All,
Thank you for signing up for the Trailblazer Amateur Championship 2025 at Ohio Christian University in Circleville, OH. Below is everything that you need to know ahead of this year’s event.
Getting to the Course
The course is located at the back of the Ohio Christian University campus, behind the Maxwell Center. The address is 1476 Lancaster Pike, Circleville, OH 43113. Please follow Lancaster Pike around campus. You may park in either of the parking lots situated on either side of the Maxwell Center. Please do NOT park in the spaces located immediately next to the shelter house. This parking lot will be closed for the event.

Weather
Looking at the forecast, there is a chance of rain and thunderstorms on Saturday. Some flash flooding over the past weekend has caused certain areas to be extremely wet, but the days building up to the event should be hot and dry, allowing much of this to dry out. Nevertheless, please be cautious around the course, particularly on banks around the creek.
Should lightning strike in close proximity to the course, the round will be immediately suspended. You will receive a notification via PDGA Live of this suspension. Should a suspension of play occur, mark your disc and seek shelter immediately. Play will resume when it is safe to do so.
Course Rules
I have attached images of all of the tee signs on the course. Please note that some holes will play slightly differently to what is listed on the tee sign. The tee / pin positions and the listed length of the holes are all accurate, but some holes feature additional out-of-bounds areas. I have outlined these below, as well as in the hole notes on the PDGA Live scorecard.
On several holes, white marking flags or white paint will be used to mark the OB line. This will primarily be used where the distinction between in and out of bounds is unclear, such as a gravel road or a creek. If paint is used, the white line shall be considered out of bounds. Your discs must be touching non-painted grass on the in-bounds side of the line to be considered in-bounds. Where flags are used, the OB line shall be considered to be a straight line between each flag. If your disc is completely beyond this line, your disc is OB.
We will seek to use paint in as many locations as possible. Primarily, we are aiming to have the creek areas marked with paint, and the remaining OB marked with flags only.
In all other cases, any OB will be determined by the descriptions set out in the hole notes. In cases where asphalt/roads/parking lots are listed as OB, your disc will only be out of bounds if your disc is surrounded by the asphalt/road/parking lot. If any part of your disc is touching the grass/dirt, your disc will be in bounds.
The course will differ slightly between each round through the use of alternative pin and tee positions. All players, regardless of division, will use these changes between rounds.
HOLE 1
All gravel / asphalt will be considered out of bounds, as well as any areas beyond the gravel / asphalt. Only the grass area that surrounds the basket and the grass area that surrounds the tee are in bounds. White marking flags will be used where the distinction between grass and gravel / asphalt is not clear.
Please ensure that when you are walking from hole 1 to hole 2, you do not cross in front of the tee box for hole 7. You must walk behind the tee box. Please be courteous to those who may be throwing from this tee as you pass by.
HOLE 2
This hole features a mandatory. Your disc must pass to the left of the marked tree directly in front of the tee. If you miss the mandatory, you must proceed to the marked drop zone (white flags) with a penalty stroke added. The restricted space begins at the center of the base of the tree and extends upwards and to the right, perpendicular to the tee box. This shall be marked with white flags.
This hole also features an OB line to the left of the fairway, which will be marked with white flags or white paint. If your disc lands to the left of this OB line, your disc is out of bounds, even if your disc is not in the water.
HOLE 5
In Round 1, this hole will use the short tee, and the B pin position. In Round 2, this hole will use the long tee, and the A pin position. The rules below apply during both rounds. This hole features a double mandatory. Your disc must pass between the two mandatories. If you miss either mandatory, you must proceed to the marked drop zone (white flags) with a penalty stroke added. The restricted space begins at the center of the base of the tree and extends upwards and to the left / right, perpendicular to the tee box. This shall be marked with white flags.
All asphalt, such as parking lots, roads, and footpaths, shall be considered out of bounds. This includes the curb. Your disc must be touching the grass area to be in bounds.HOLE 6In Round 1, this hole will use the short tee. In Round 2, this hole will use the long tee.
HOLE 7
The road / parking lot to the left is OB, and shall be marked with white flags or white paint. The creek to the right is OB, and shall also be marked with white flags or white paint.HOLE 8

Campus Rules & Facilities
Please ensure that you follow all the relevant rules for Ohio Christian University's campus. Maintaining a positive relationship with the courses is integral to putting on bigger and better events in the future.
Follow all speed limits on the road entering the campus. Firearms are not permitted anywhere on the campus or course. Alcohol, drugs, and tobacco are also not permitted anywhere on the campus or course. Anyone found with these prohibited items may be disqualified from the event and asked to leave the campus. If you wish to smoke, we ask that you leave campus to do so.
Please also ensure that you do not litter anywhere on the course. Trash cans / bags will be located at Tournament Central, as well as around the course.
Bathrooms will be available inside of the Maxwell Center. A porta-potty will also be available around hole 15. As well as the water provided in the coolers, a water fountain will be available inside of the Maxwell Center.
Scoring
Scoring for the event will be completed through PDGA Live. PDGA rules require that everyone on the card must keep a scorecard for the entire card. At least one person on your card must complete their scorecard using PDGA Live. All other scorecards may take any form, including UDisc or paper. However, it is strongly recommended that all other scorecards be completed on PDGA Live as it forces scorekeepers to address any conflicts on each hole. This significantly reduces the risk of incorrect scorecards. It will also ensure that all players are quickly made aware of any suspensions in play.
If you will need a paper scorecard, please reach out in advance in order to help us minimize waste.
At the end of your round, all players on the card must check the final PDGA Live scorecard to ensure its accuracy before it is submitted. Any errors could result in a stroke penalty.

Card groups and starting holes will be published later this week. These will be subject to change due to last-minute no-shows. Please check the PDGA site to verify your group and starting hole immediately before the round.
Start Time
The first round will begin at exactly 9:30 AM. The player's meeting will finish at least 15 minutes prior to the round starting to give players sufficient time to reach their starting holes. There will be no horn to signify the 2-minute warning or the beginning of the round. Instead, use the clock on your phone. You must be at your starting hole at the 2-minute warning, and you may not throw any practice throws once the 2-minute warning has passed. Any practice throws could be penalized. This applies to both rounds.
Lunch
The lunch break will last approximately one hour from the time that the final card completes the first round.
The start time for the second round will be listed on the PDGA event page at least 30 minutes before the round begins. Your starting hole and group will be determined by your score, so please ensure that you verify your starting hole, as it may be different to your starting hole in the first round. Please ensure that you give yourself plenty of time to get to your starting hole.
Tie Break
In the event of a tie for first place in any division, the tied players will play holes 2, 7, 8 & 9 on repeat until the tie is broken. A coin shall be flipped to determine the tee order. The order shall then rotate after each hole.
Closest to the Pin (CTP)
There are 4 CTP prizes available throughout the event. These will be on holes 1, 2, 8, and 13. If your disc lands closest to the pin, move the marking flag to the front of your disc and write your name on the card. At the end of the round, if your final hole is one of the CTP holes, please return the marking flag and card to the registration area. The CTP winners will each receive a $10 payout voucher. If your final hole in round two is one of the CTP holes, please bring the CTP flag back to Tournament Central at the end of the round.
CTP Prizes & Ace Fund
Immediately after the second round, CTP vouchers will be handed out to the winners.
As part of your entry fee, everyone is also included in the ace fund. If any player throws an ace, they will win the entire ace fund. If multiple aces are hit, the fund will be split evenly between the players.
If no ace is thrown, we will have a CTP throw-off. Each player will have a chance to throw one disc from the marked position to Hole 1's basket. The four players closest to the pin will split the ace fund evenly. If any player throws an ace on the throw-off, they will win the entire ace fund. If an ace has been thrown during the event, the same CTP throw-off will still take place whilst the payout is calculated, but there will be a single winner of a $20 payout voucher.
Payout
The projected payout for each division will be published later this week, but a breakdown of your entry fee is shown in the event description on Disc Golf Scene. Once the second round is complete and all scorecards have been submitted, we will begin calculating the payout. Those who do win a payout will receive a signed paper voucher that lists their name, division, place, and amount. As a club, we will have almost 1,000 discs to choose from, as well as bags, baskets, minis, t-shirts, and other merchandise.
Once you have found the items that you would like to buy with your payout voucher, bring the items and your voucher to a member of the team handling payout, and they will help you check out. If you would like to purchase items valued higher than your payout voucher, you can pay the difference. We will accept cash, Venmo, or PayPal. Those who do not win any payout also have the option of buying any of our inventory through these methods of payment. Discs and merchandise being sold by the Ohio Christian University Bookstore cannot be used for payout. These can only be purchased directly from the bookstore. Only First Capital Flight Club stock may be used.
PDGA Sanctioning, Membership, & Ratings
This event is a PDGA-sanctioned C-Tier event. As a result, all PDGA rules will apply. Current PDGA members will receive a rating for their rounds. Please ensure that you are familiar with all PDGA Rules and the Code of Conduct.
A PDGA membership is not necessary for this event. However, for those who are not current PDGA members, if you register or renew now, your membership will be good throughout the rest of 2025. If you have signed up for a PDGA membership but have not provided your PDGA number, you must do so before the event. You will receive a refund for your non-PDGA membership fee if you signed up for a membership after signing up for the event.
