Great day, 118 golfers, Issac Lockwood wins Open division -18 on the day, thanks to all the pre-registrants and all who came out to play. I'm attempting to (and will) post results. If anyone knows Armando, have him contact me... he won the handicap scoring, a sweet trophy and some extra cash, congrats Mando (he also won the AM division!) Good day for him!

I was actually planning on registering for this tournament, but I'm coming from 3 hours away and am not willing to chance not making it in by showing up the morning of.

I am with you. I am not sure that I want to drive the distance just to be told that I have to wait and see if I can get in.

Rusty, You are correct in your conclusions based upon the info you have. (BTW tags are $20) One thing over the years is true..., all of the tag holders do not show up at each event and thus many (some) spots are open for those like yourself who want to play the event, you can and will play. Just show up early and get on the non tag list and we'll get you (and your girl) in.

Well, I will be coming from Rocklin (hour and a half away or more) and not going to get there early for there not to be any spots. Why can't we pre-register for this if we know for sure we want to come. I am a willing paying participant, but not willing to drive to the location and be told that I have to wait to see if I get in.

I have a few questions:
How can I get a bag tag and what is the cost?
What is the "general" category? I have been playing just over a year and don't think I am "intermediate" skill level. My wife may play as well and I don't see a rec women's division. Just a few questions I have before making a decision on coming to play. Also, is there a maximum number of allowed players? If my wife decided to play, would we be able to play on the same card?

#3,4 The Shasta Series is a non'sanctioned' series in that there is not as many divisions offered as you might expect in a PDGA sanctioned event. In the Am division there is am Adv divison and Am division for both women and men. Our Am is close to PDGA Rec/Intermediate. You and your wif ... more

#5 The max for this event is 100 players. We will know with pre registration roughly how many spots will be open by Jan2nd. Non tag holders have to wait until 8:30 (day of event) to register and you must be there early to get on the waiting list. I would keep an eye on pre registration #s and de ... more

I am in Rocklin. I have played Lava Creek before and love that course. I would like to get into this tournament, but as I am reading, I can't pre-register? It sounds as though if you don't have a tag from the previous year, you won't get in. If the same people have the tags year after year, how is anyone new suppose to get in?
