Armando Cruz Just my two cents, a gift card would be awesome instead of a disc(s), that way we at least have the choice to pick a disc we want. I rarely throw any of the disc given to us from tournaments. Seeing as there is currently more AMs signed up than PROs. Aug 8

Thanks so much for the question — you’re absolutely right. The registration fees are intentionally low, especially considering the high pass-through costs we’re dealing with. Our goal is to strike a balance: keeping entry fees reasonable for amateurs while still offering a solid purse for the Pros.
To make that happen, we’re putting in a lot of legwork behind the scenes, especially in securing sponsorships. We’ve developed a sponsor marketing piece, and John has been actively reaching out. So far, we’ve landed three major sponsors and 3–4 smaller ones, all of which will significantly boost the Pro purse. We’re excited to share full sponsor details as we get closer to the event.
Regarding green fees: the course is charging us $35 per person, per day — but only for the weekend. As a bonus, all registered players will receive a free practice round on Friday. The green fee also includes a Sunday lunch, which is required and not optional. That’s intentional — part of our broader goal is to show the resort that disc golf can be a financially viable activity. Lunch revenue helps prove that case and supports our push for a permanent course installation.
The good news? The lunch is actually really solid, and it's a great opportunity to relax and connect with fellow players after the final round.
In other cost-saving news, we’ve negotiated with two vendors to supply 36 portable baskets at no cost, which helps us reduce overhead and put more money into the Pro purse.
To ensure a challenging and memorable experience for the Pros, we’ve brought in Pete Ulibarri to design a custom Pro layout. The resort has given us full access to the property, including the driving range, so expect a dynamic and demanding course. Amateurs will compete on a separate 18-hole layout, tailored to provide a great experience for their division as well.
We have more exciting elements in the works and are aiming to make this a standout B-Tier event. If you have any suggestions — or want to help as a sponsor — we’re all ears. We truly appreciate the feedback and look forward to seeing you (and your crew) out there.
Anna, we’re sorry the idea of post-round lunch and a cold drink isn’t your thing. That said, we’re working hard to build a strong women’s field. I’ve personally been reaching out to female players from across the region, and we already have a few traveling in from out of state. We'd love to see you out there and would welcome any help spreading the word!
