On wetlands, the caddy book says hole 9 is a par 4, but PDGA live is saying it’s a par 3 - how would you like us to proceed?

Delaney Scholz   July 22 at 10:46pm

It’s been fixed!

Delaney Scholz   July 22 at 10:46pm

Thanks for all the hard work you have put into this! The course was AMAZING! So fun, and just the right amount of challenging :) we could really see how much work went into making that space a playable course

Craig Sheather   July 23 at 2:54am

fixed

With the number of comments about wasps nests, thought I'd post PDGA rule 803.02.A:

A player may obtain relief from the following obstacles that are on or behind the lie: harmful insects or animals, people, or any item as designated by the Director. To obtain relief, the player may mark a new lie that is on the line of play, farther from the target, at the nearest point that provides relief (unless greater relief is announced by the Director).

Be safe, all!

This is correct and was used by players yesterday.

Ross Kagna   July 22 at 2:15pm

This is a great reminder. Thank you Gabby!

Yossarian King   July 23 at 4:08am

Sadly, farther from the target is always deeper into the woods! ????

Campbell valley. Course plays longer than last year, last year had huge back-ups, and this year we played a 4-1/2 hour round with non stop huge back-ups....why are we trying to push tee times every 8 mins...were there no learnings from last year? This needs to be corrected, standing in stifling heat in a course that runs out of water and only one bathroom (that is unexessible while playing) is extremely frustrating.
Not to mention I watched 3 people roll ankles today on teepads that are bumpy a ... more

Morning everyone, Thanks you for all your advice overnight. Super helpful. There are some things we can control to support player experience. Shortening the average time on the course is the primary objective for today. We are efforting to make a series of course changes for 7am tee off this morning ... more

Laura Mason   July 22 at 7:46pm

Hey Craig - will the pads also be shortened for Sunday rounds? Cheers!

Craig Sheather   July 23 at 2:54am

We had not considered it

Carie Coleman-Pinkal    July 22 at 4:09am

What’s up with moving the FPO and FP40 to ridiculously early tee times Saturday morning at Raptor’s? Isn’t that a drastic change from today’s start time?

Thank you for your comments. The PDGA tour manger automatically picks the order of divisions. I didn’t look at who was when at all as I was in a rush to get it posted since it was so late. I didn’t get back from the course till 8.30pm. There was no intention of being disrespectful. I am ... more

Carie Coleman-Pinkal   July 22 at 9:18pm

Thank you for your response, Craig. I appreciate how busy you are.

Craig Sheather   July 23 at 2:57am

FYI they are early again tomorrow to allow for filming and I do believe they enjoyed the cool morning this morning. all smiles. What a great group to watch support each other. We are so lucky to have this group be our leaders in our region.

Can someone confirm if the upper area above the pit on hole 2 (the ob) is OB behind the chain? There's no "string" per the caddy book, and the chain in question is next to the basket.

Thanks!

Craig, this wording is confusing. From my understanding, and I believe for many until this comment/announcement, the pit has always been OB. Or were we wrong? Is this a change for round 2 and 3? The pit on hole 2 is now a hazard instead of OB?

Craig Sheather   July 22 at 5:09am

Sorry I am tired. I will fix it. It is OB. Been a long day for all of us. Thx.

Craig Sheather   July 22 at 5:12am

App announcement now says OB not hazard

Jeromy Strobiki    July 22 at 2:10am

Campbell valley park tee of issue.
Knowing that there is a 20-40 minute wait at hole 2 can we slow down the 1st hole tee off until we catch up. Tee off should be reflective of the speed of play I would imagine.

Can we have someone with access to the lost disc bin available so we can retrieve our lost discs? I lost a disc today and the person put my disc in the bin.

Is there a separate parking lot for the Discmania course? Or should we park at one of the Raptors parking lots?

Trevor Gilbertson   July 21 at 5:08am

Yeah, I'm not familiar with the area. Is there an address for the Discmania course at the Wetlands?

Craig Sheather   July 21 at 7:32am

Same parking lots. Same address.

Yossarian King    July 21 at 3:36am

Stinging nettle in the out of bounds bushes along the fence on hole 13 at Raptor's. Not deadly, but uncomfortable, so try to avoid touching plant life whilst you thrash about looking for discs.

Adam Bruno    July 21 at 2:37am

Angry bees in brush on left side of hole 14 at InDesign course. Also angry bees on hole 1 at raptors in ditch on right past red pad and on hole 5 right side (close to hole 3). Also on hole 12 deep of pin. 6 stings in total. Lol

Alex Slotty   July 21 at 2:54am

The ones on hole 14 found me as well

Robert Dixon   July 23 at 3:50am

The Campbell Valley Course is all bees.

Elias McQuaid    July 21 at 1:28am

Is there anyone that lives close to the courses and would let me park my small camper trailer in their driveway or yard for Friday to Sunday? My camping spot fell through.

I tee at 7am tomorrow at Campbell Valley. What time do we expect the gates to be open for parking before warm-up?
Thank you!!!

Craig Sheather   July 21 at 1:00am

gates are open at 6.30.

Elizabeth deVries   July 21 at 1:01am

Perfect. Thanks!

Craig Sheather   July 21 at 1:02am

if you are going earlier keep going down the road to the equestrian centre than move up at 6.30

Don Clark    July 21 at 12:44am

I am coming up from Bellevue, WA later tonight, but I can’t be there by 6:00.

There’s a wasp nest early left on hole 17 at the Campbell valley course. One of the members of our group got stung multiple times today.

Are we okay to just walk the discmania course and not throw?

Stewart McIsack   July 20 at 9:30pm

Ideally we don't impose on that property until Friday. The Fraser Retriever Training Club has be gracious to keep all thier members out of their training areas for 3 days for us. Let's be patient and wait our turn.

Craig Sheather   July 21 at 12:49am

Thanks Stewart.

I've seen tee times posted already for several divisions but I can not find mine for the life of me. Any tips? Ma3

I see MA3 tees times listed in the Caddie Book on the app by scrolling over to day two. Are these just placeholders then or is this accurate?

Craig Sheather   July 21 at 12:47am

placeholders for now but close nothing is confirmed till the night before

Colton Whelpton   July 21 at 1:03am

Amazing, thanks Craig!
