Darren Hamar: Campbell valley. Course plays longer than last y

Campbell valley. Course plays longer than last year, last year had huge back-ups, and this year we played a 4-1/2 hour round with non stop huge back-ups....why are we trying to push tee times every 8 mins...were there no learnings from last year? This needs to be corrected, standing in stifling heat in a course that runs out of water and only one bathroom (that is unexessible while playing) is extremely frustrating.
Not to mention I watched 3 people roll ankles today on teepads that are bumpy and uneven.
I am speaking for a lot of people today, as this was the main conversation of every group I talked to

You say you need everyone's help to make it better, but do you understand that more players were spotters for other cards than any tournament I have ever been to? I think every player at Campbell valley did everything in their power to help OTHER cards with speed of play since everyone there was half heat stroked and sick of standing around

Morning everyone, Thanks you for all your advice overnight. Super helpful. There are some things we can control to support player experience. Shortening the average time on the course is the primary objective for today. We are efforting to make a series of course changes for 7am tee off this morning. We will modifier get the course length of up to 7 holes to support speed of play. There will be natural grass teepads added for all divisions. We will not be changing the basket placements to keep the integrity of the course design. A course map with new hole lengths is also part of the plan. Unfortunately the washroom we ordered for the back of the course was dropped in the parking lot before we could give them direction to where we wanted it and moving it does not seem to be possible but we are going to try again this morning. Thank you to all who pitched in yesterday. Looking forward to a better day for all.
