I spoke with the city of Troy parks and rec. I am told that as of today, 7/29, they are still banning organized sports/events from taking place at the park. Which means I will sadly have to move this event to a new course. This buns me out, by i do love using Firefighters for this event as I feel it is a great course for everyone to try new stuff out at, along with low risk of losing anything and a fun layout. With that being said, I will look to move this eve Spindler park in Eastpointe. I had ... more

The date has been changed. If for some reason this date does not work for you and you have already signed up, feel free to ask for a refund. If you wish to still recieved the pack, just let me know. Thank you all for understanding. This is something that no one has had to handle before. I appreciate your patience.

scores are posted folks.
Once again, thank you so much for being a part of this. Im glad everyone had fun. I appreciate you all greatly. Thank you as well for all your cooperation with following the procedures I had laid out. It made it that much easier to hold this. I look forward to next year to when we can return to our home and I can bring back my normal set up. I hope. See you all next year!

What time does check in close?
Karl Schneider August 27, 2020 at 4:24pm
Is there a waitlist? My buddy Jordan was thinking about trying to play this. He hasn’t played a tournament before.
Its a prepay event. Ive had the order for 2 weeks. So no i can't add anyone into the event this late. Thank him for the interest and have him keep an eye out for next year though
Brandon Redmond August 12, 2020 at 7:07pm
The order is in! Please pass this info to anyone who may not be on DGS or just make sure that your friends and other competitors are familiar with these guidelines. There will be some immunocompromised players in attendance and in an effort to keep everyone safe i do expect all these to be followed for this event to go on, otherwise you may find you'll be asked to enjoy your Sunday elsewhere
1) absolutely no one is allowed in the Pavillion while I am setting up. Normally I prefer to ha ...

It was just noticed that I didn't have a schedule posted. I have one now. Sorry for being late on that. I'm hoping to stick to that schedule as tightly as possible.
I will have a note posted as to how check in will happen day of. I will ask you to adhere to certain guidelines that I deem necessary to keep my players safe and give a good look for the sport to the city.

I am very interested in this event but for some reason I can't find what disc are the trilogy challenge disc this year, weird! If you could let me know what disc they are and if the new location is not to far for me I am really interested in registering for the event! Thank you for any information and hope to be able to get in my 1st trilogy challenge and play a new course as well. Have a good day! DISCGOLF is great and thank you for your dedication to throwing this event in these tough times!
Once you are there look for the history section and they tell you what the discs are. Another source is Brandon’s YouTube channel “Redmond Disc Golf” where Brandon has done a full video review for all three discs for this year. Highly recommend you check it out before the event.
Thanks Don. I appreciate the plug. The three discs are the SPZ3, a 10 speed control driver. The Bounty. A neutral to slightly US midrange. The Crown, an existing mold but its in a new plastic bland, hybrid BT.

So sad.. I'm leaving for the U.P. that day... This is my favorite tournament of the year. Have fun without me. :( :)

With updated COVID regulations has it been decided if this is at Firefighters or Spindler yet? Or is this still up in the air? I'm still excited regardless of the course!
I'm not sure if you've seen the update, it had to be moved to Spindler

Hey folks, so I just found out that this year they are not doing a shirt but are switching to a towel. It's going to be too much to go back and change registration aspects now, so when you are signing up just put in a shirt size for whatever. Just know that there is not a shirt this year.
Jon Aldrich June 22, 2020 at 2:30pm
when is the deadline for this want to make it again
I believe I have it set up to end registration about August 1st. I have to order two weeks before my event to ensure delivery time. So I think that's when I have it set.
August 10th registration closes. I might move that up by a few days though. Possibly.

So with the event only a month away, I would have to be placing the order for the packs in 2 weeks. Since I'm not at the minimum of 25 packs theres 2 options. I either push this event back into august or cancel it. Pushing it back allows us to see how things are shaping up and give us more time to figure out how to operate within the state mandates. I would hate to cancel it outright but it's not looking good. I need the 4 who are signed up to weigh in on this decision. Or at least a majority. If I cancel, I will gladly roll over your registration till next year or refund you. Either way.
I dont want to cancel it. But with needing a minimum of 25, I am worried. By this time I would be halfway to 50, not halfway to holding it at all. Not to mention I might not be able to hold it with more than 20 people or however many they cap gatherings at. Or I might have to do tee times of some s ... more
Just some thoughts. I agree, the biggest issue is the initial rush for everyone to select their player packs. What if you tell people to give you preferences for the discs when they register, color, weight and plastic type, and you organize the player packs. Preferences will be given to the order ... more
That is an idea. But an insane amount of work to prep and handle. Constant inventory checks. Constant messaging to people if they dont post it. I think my only real chance is to spread out registration a bit more and break up discs by color and weight. If you touch the disc, you now own the disc. Period. And only allowing 5 people up to check in at once. And I'll do it by random section
Brandon Redmond April 6, 2020 at 4:37am
I know this isnt something we are completely in tune with or thinking about, but as of now, I am still planning on holding this event. Please keep that in mind. It is still a prepay event. However if for whatever reason the world is still in its craziness I will look to push it back before cancelling. And if I do cancel, refunds will be issued
That is great to hear Brandon. Caleb and I are looking forward to playing in this event and will probably look to sign up around May 1st just to give it some time to see where things are.
I’ll be good with whatever works best for everyone else
Are we playing 18?
I've decided that we will play 18. The 24 layout added into caeds crossing paths will make for too long of a day. 18 it is!
Thank goodness. I was thinking about how long of a day it would be. Cool!
1 round of 24 is a long day?
For 50 people and 1 guy Manning all the scores and payouts. Especially since I'm leaving for vacation trying not to upset a wife the day after our anniversary. Yeah that's a long day lol plus normal firefighters 18 which is on more flat ground than Spin and it ended 2-3oclock. That's a long day. But hey any random round I'll play 24 or 48 and it'll be good hit me up Noah :)
Its too much to do without being able to spread golfers out.
