After much thought and some player feedback, I've decided to make this league A, B, and C Pools. I want to keep a fair competitive balance for all players and also want to ensure new players have a chance. Below you find the guidelines for each Pool.
A Pool -- Averages an under par round at each course. Using PDGA standards, this should be any player who plays Advanced or Open and some Intermediate players (920 + rated).
B Pool -- Averages par to 8 over during a round at each course. Using PDGA standards, this should be any player who plays Intermediate and some higher Recreational rated players (890+).
C Pool -- Averages 9+ over during a round at each course. This should generally be new and lower level players.
Average score is the best way to determine this. I realize B players can shoot under par on occasion, just as an A player may be over par. But take your average score to determine where you think you will fall. I do reserve the right to bump players who are playing down. You also have the option to play up a Pool. Play where you think you belong. The scores will help show that. If you have any doubts, please let me know. I know the majority of players who will be partaking in this league and would be glad to let you know where I think you should play. i also don't anticipate a large C Pool. But to ensure new players don't get scared off by some of our better B players, I think it's fair to give this 3 Pools a shot. It may change depending on where people play and score this week.
I will be updating the League Rules doc that's announced at the top of the Facebook page with these changes and Pool clarification. That will be done tonight. I will also try to find a way to post that here as a "League Flyer."
