OK the MiCPS is officially over tomorrow at Midnight. That gives league admin 1 week to post and update after the last round was played last Saturday.
To avoid a mega post I'm going to post a few stats here for those who care since I like to dissect the number s a few different ways and like to give Kudos to those who achieved even if they did not end up at the top spots.
For the DGLA Player members I will post the berth awards and the submit them to MDGO so you can register. Reminder you must register at least 1 week prior to the event or you lose your berth and it is up for grabs in the Last Chance Qualifier on Friday before The Discraft Michigan State Championships

OK for some stats.
There are several stats that tend to really impact overall points, Number of rounds played, Wins, ACEs, Highlighted League of the Weeks (2x points) and I like to look at the Average Points per Round to see who the potential movers and Shakers are if only they could play more rounds.
So who had the most rounds ?
Top 10 by Highest # of Rounds
Leaderboard Position Player Points Total Rounds
3 Jay B 1,035 75
6 Russell Taint 881 66
7 andy steiner 829 59
10 Jerry "Chilly" Chilson 798 56
5 Brett Piziali 936 48
18 Brian Hyzertron Crouch 704 48
14 Frame o 738 47
4 Phil "Puttimus Prime" Common 1,002 43
16 "Mag1c" Mike V 719 43
11 Scottie Reslock 790 42
21 Don Cantwell 594 41
1 Geoff Bennett 1,151 40
2 Danny Fifer 1,062 40
22 Tim Gacioch 588 40
12 Jeff "Hep-A-Ler" Hepler 771 37
15 Chris Flaherty 722 37
9 John "Johnny Mac" McClenahan 816 36
13 peter boucher 751 36
36 mark ellis 457 34
66 Gregory Matthews 328 34
Now the max counted rounds is 32 but those extra rounds increased these players odds to maximize their point total keeping the highest two rounds in a given week. I also saw several who hit Aces in a round that was dropped but the Aces always count for an extra 25 points. Nice!
Sh who had the highest Points per round average? Well I drop all who only played 1 or 2 rounds. So here are your to 20 by Avg pts per Round:
Leaderboard Position Player Points Avg pts per Round:
53 Brandon oleskie 368 6 61.33333333
30 Derek Trinkle 513 11 46.63636364
222 Daniel Whitlock 132 3 44 44
222 David Lewis 132 3 44
17 Michael Christian 717 20 35.85
19 Mike Rivamonte 681 19 35.84210526
25 Joshua McClendon 569 16 35.5625
263 Erika Hein 106 3 35.33333333
41 Shrimp Boat Captain 423 12 35.25
20 Brett Stryker 612 18 34
139 Tony Vidal 204 6 34
97 Bart Kowalewski 267 8 33.375
174 Skyler Stoker 166 5 33.2
271 Josh Gosler 99 3 33
273 Chris Laity 97 3 32.33333333
47 maxwell schwartz 383 12 31.91666667
133 Jeff Bauman 210 7 30
193 Brett Lynch 150 5 30
32 Brandon Johnson 473 16 29.5625
43 Michael Baz II 404 14 28.85714286
105 Dave Milewski 259 9 28.77777778
1 Geoff Bennett 1,151 40 28.775
289 Josh Cook 86 3 28.66666667
72 Keith Tasker 314 11 28.54545455
76 Tyler Alfano WPD 310 11 28.18181818
171 Tom Carpenter 169 6 28.16666667
92 Johnny Atovski 281 10 28.1
22 Kyle Greenhalgh 588 21 28
So if Brandon oleskie had a Avg Pt/Rnd of 61.33333333 for 6 rounds.
If Brandon continued this level of play for the remaining 26 rounds he would have been our Champion - Watch for Brandon to be on the move next season. Nicely done Brandon.
So I only see one of the top 10 players in that list - how is that possible.
OK so Geoff Bennett, currently in 1st place, has a Avg pot/rnd of 28.77 but he has played 40 rounds of which only 28 counted - 12 were the third round of the week, but this help maximize his point total for the best 32 rounds. So more like a 41.1 avg pts / round.
So its a no brainer that you want the highest possible pts per rnd average and ensure you got your 32 rounds and any extra rounds just help ensure you maximized your point total.
OK I'll break down the stats for the top ten to see how they got there and what you may want to focus on next season if you want to be there as well, in my next post with the official standings and berth awards.
Peace and Enjoy the Rounds
