Another beautiful morning for league play with a bit of gusty winds on Saturday morning. Those of us throwing for the shade of the trees may not have posted the best scores possible. Guess we will have to brave the elements if we plan on winning a league round.
This weeks winner was Cassie with a raw score of 84 and handicap score of 46 earning 6 championship points. Aaron was solidly in second with scores 56 raw and 47 handicap. Randy was 3rd, 56 & 49, with Chris in 4th, 52 raw and is playing scratch golf. Jeremy and Jim rounded out the scoring field tied at 62 and 56 handicap. Kyly recorded her second league round and established a handicap of 18 and will now compete for league points.
Everyone's most anticipated update of the week, Birdie Club! Chris and Aaron (4), Jeremy (3), Jim (2) and Randy (1).
Lastly for the updated handicaps. As we talked about on Saturday, handicap fairness can be a highly debated topic. As golfers improve their skills their handicap should reflect that as well. After researching how other leagues compute handicaps there were many different ideas with each having pros and cons. After talking about it on Saturday the result is the last 4 rounds scored be used for handicapping. And with that here are the current handicaps: Staci (45), Jesse (28), Cassie (25), Kyly (18), Mike (12), Jeremy (5), Jim & Randy (4), Aaron & Pat (2), Tommy (1) and Joe & Chris are scratch.
The 2014 Sky High Showdown will be held in August with registration opening June 11th at www,discgolfunited.com.
