D.O.R.C.s Bag Tag Tracking
To make the D.O.R.C.s Bag Tag league more official and to track Bag Tags better the D.O.R.C.s league will ONLY count the regular scheduled D.O.R.C.s round as a Bag Tag Dump round. I other words if you play in the "alternate" round of D.O.R.C.s, keep your tag, that way we can track the "Top Ten" better and avoid confusion about who has what tag.
By popular demand I'm changing the 12 week limit of D.O.R.C.s absent "Top Ten" tags to 6 weeks. That means with alternate rounds a D.O.R.C.s player may choose what course and what group they play with on the regular but to defend a "Top Ten" bag tag the D.O.R.C.s regular scheduled round must be played once every 6 weeks.
Please understand these limitations come from observing other Bag Tag leagues and the troubles they have faced. This is the first "LIFETIME" bag tag league I have hosted and I aim to make it last.
I would like to add that the TAGS are for DORCS regulars, if you just want to show up to get a tag that's not what it is about. Secondly if we don't have tags that week your not getting one until we have some, we will not be issuing hand written tags
This league is about coming out and playing in whatever fashion we choose that day and having a fun round without all the major rules to follow at other leagues. We just want to play early Sunday and have a good time.

And since these tags have come into play, it is all that seems to matter anymore. With the excuse of "being fun" as the reason to do so.
What is the purpose of bag tags if you cant play with them? I was always prerty sure that bag trag were to keep rounds competitive. The tags can still be tracked just based on recording what tags are showing up on sunday. U might not always know who has what tag but you would still know when it is time to re-issue a new tag. And there have been so many tags given away to people that have only showed up to one dorcs round. So maybe some guidelines need to be put into effect for that issue. Like say you will get a tag when you have showed up more than 3 times in like half a callender year or something. Either way. Something needs to happen. Beacuse i too feel like there is way to much drama surrounding the dorcs bag tag leauge. As well as way to many rules.

Don't get me wrong I like the tags but I feel like there is a s*** ton of rules surrounding them.

So what I'm reading is you all like coming to DORCS but want to lose the TAGS, I liked it better when it was just about the cap talking free forum play. So do we keep them or ditch the TAGS? I vote ditch them.
Tags are fine by me. But they seem to be all that Beast is thinking about! That and following whatever tourney is being played that weekend. DORCs should be and always was, for me, about having fun and playing in a "loose" atmosphere that was not "tourney" like.

DORCS is an early Sunday morning group that is not affliated with anyone group or tourney, So Beast let's look at the feedback here and turn this around and keep it simple.

As always I am in favor of what ever the D.O.R.C.s players want. Sometimes that is difficult to determine. Know that above all this thread shows me that it is possible to serve your players best as a league director if your league is on discgolfscene and can communicate this way. After 2 years of D.O.R.C.s league it was my idea to put D.O.R.C.s on the scene in the first place, with some resistance from the league founders. As a result the league has changed and I think for the better. Mostly by introducing the joy of disc golf to countless people but also by focusing on the joy part and not so much on the disc golf part. Bag Tags are a disc golf trend and the ONLY way I wanted to use Bag Tags in D.O.R.C.s was with "lifetime tags" and without the top 10 tags ALWAYS being out of play. I talked about D.O.R.C.s tag for at least 2 years before Rooster "donated" the first 35 tags. Thanks Rooster! Thus the "loose" atmosphere is becoming a bit tense. I think lets keep the bag tags for now with the current rule changes if for no reason other than to help me save some integrity by trying to see it through.

On another point please understand we founding fathers never imagined D.O.R.C.s would become so popular. I think this is more troublesome to the league than the Tags. I think the solution is to play alternate D.O.R.C.s rounds. Some players already do, and use discgolfscene quite effectavely to do so. Smaller groups are WAY more D.O.R.C.s like. Think about it. All you D.O.R.C.s with different ideas as to what D.O.R.C.s should be can host your own round if you don't like the format, the course, the players you might play with or any other reason you can think of. Just play on Sunday mornings and ENJOY it, I will score the round for you:)

The D.O.R.C.s (Bag Tag) league will not work if tags are traded at all rounds and casual rounds if the host does not record the results correctly and someone always ****s it up in Bag Tag leagues. That is why ONLY scheduled rounds do you trade tags otherwise keep them, after 6 week we won't count them.
I agree keep it simple, secondly if we are out of tags newcomers don't get one until we do period. none of the BS paper hand written cards ever
DORCS had always been about being fun and CASUAL
So I went back and looked. If I don't show this weekend because I'm playing in the SuperBowl Scramble. You will no longer count me as the #9 tag holder beacause this will be my 6 straight week of not being able to play. Right?
No! With the rule change taking effect the instant it was posted to news, I must consider this week to be the first week in the 6 week tracking. In other words the rule is not retroactive.
D.O.R.C.s please understand it would be impossible for me to make every D.O.R.C. happy with how I run this league on the scene, and equally impossible for me to anticipate ALL the possible ways I might be ****ing it up. Please bear with me as I am learning too.
I just want to say I love coming to DORCs but since my daughter was born the day after christmas I havent been able to make it
