Thanks for the suggestion, Tony. While there is no PDGA rule that would forbid this, cutting the lunch break on such short notice is likely to negatively impact many competitors, especially those with longer commutes who have been planning around the customary hour break.

I understand the custom of a break but giving the circumstances of inclement weather, we as players should not only be prepared for the weather but in charge of feeding ourselves on the course. I believe players would much rather get the rounds in than take a lunch break.

All that needs to be completed is 1 round for the tournament to be official. Considering the inclement weather won't likely be to Redan until lunch/after lunch. He may even need to send people home before the second round begins. As a TD myself, and a player in this tournament, I think Adam is doing the right thing by not playing right through lunch and keeping a watchful eye on the weather. There a quite a few players that also NEED that hour break for rest in between rounds. There are more MA50, MA60 & MA70 players than any other group of players that might need to use that time. Just my two cents. See you all tomorrow!
