The 11th Annual ROYAL OAK OPEN this Saturday, Sept. 17, 2011

The 11th Annual ROYAL OAK OPEN disc golf tournament will be held this coming Saturday, September 17th, 2011.

The Motor City Chain Gang will be hosting this event held at Starr-Jaycee and Wagner Parks in Royal Oak, Michigan. Once again, Gary Hutchinson and Justin Garrison from the Royal Oak Disc Golf club will be the Tournament Directors.

The Motor City Chain Gang will be hosting this event held at Starr-Jaycee and Wagner Parks in Royal Oak, Michigan. Once again, Gary Hutchinson and Justin Garrison from the Royal Oak Disc Golf club will be the Tournament Directors.

Registration is between 8am and 9am at Starr-Jaycee Park on 13 Mile Road (just east of Crooks).
The Players meeting is shortly after with tee-off scheduled for approximately 9:15ish am.

Format is 1 Round of 18 holes at Starr-Jaycee Park with a short lunch break followed by the 2nd Round of 18 holes played at Wagner Park.

The field will be capped at 72 players.

Still managed to have 10 people come out and shoot at Starr last night. The course was soaking wet, but we had fun. Maike and Shawn squeaked out the win with a -10, nice shootin fellas.

No Aces were hit tonight so the pot goes to $28. As of now the league has raised over $2000 for course improvements. Thanks to everyone who has come out to help support Royal Oak Discgolf. I see tee pads in our near future and possibly some other goodies. As soon as the weather cooperates we are going to need some help with installing new tee pads. Please contact Justin Garrison or Gary Hutchinson if you would like to help out. Any help would be appreciated.

9/2 Wagner League Night

Congrats to John Nobel for hitting an ACE on hole 14! I think the weather scared most of our usuals away, but we still managed to have a solid turnout. Thanks to everyone who came out to brave the weather. All in all it was a great night for Discgolf, some great scores were turned in and everyone seemed to be having fun. Don't forget that next week we are at Starr Park. The earlier you can be there the better off we are, we are losing daylight fast and the sooner we can get started the ... more

7/1 Wagner League Night

Wow, what a night for scores! 7 teams turned in scores in double digits. Great job to all!! It was a perfect night for playing discgolf. 32 people came out to play Wagner tonight, thanks to all for supporting your local league.

Mike and Mike tore it up this week, shooting an impressive -15. Great shooting guys! We may have to make a new rule thats says no 1000 rated players can team up with top 10 rated amatures. Congrats to both of you on your recent achievements. (not bad for a couple o ... more

6/10 League at Starr DGC

27 people tonight..Good turnout. Still managed collect $66 for the Wagner/Starr course improvement fund. No Aces were hit tonight so the money grows to $56. Matt Oller wins a Disc for CTP and Brad Frase wins the 50/50 CTP. Awesome job guys! I think thats the second time in three weeks that Brad has won the 50/50.

Russ and 2J gave it thier best but came up a couple stroke short, good shootin guys. Better luck next week to all of the -12's. We collected $20 in league memberships and $33 in xtra dollar ace for a total of $53, that will be added to the Wagner/Starr course inprovement fund.

Seriously?....Seriously!....Shooting -16 under par. Come on! It was was beautiful evening and the scores reflected just that.

We had 33 people come out and participate. Thanks to everyone for coming out and supporting the Wagner - Starr Discgolf League. We have managed to raise $438 thus far and spent $102 on paint for new Tee signs, scorecards, flyers and 2x4's for more Tee signs. Bringing the total to $336. Thanks to Justin and Gary and everyone else for all the work you are doi ... more

Local Directions: I-75 to 12 Mile Rd, west on 12 Mile, right on Main St., left on 13 Mile Rd, half mile to park on the left.

There is no Pay to Play at this park just the weekly league fees mentioned above.

Reminder – If you have not played this league before make sure you have your PDGA # or Email address you used for your Disc Golf Scene profile to help the League Admin add you and link your scores so those double points go to the right players. You must have a DGS profile to have your points show up in the MiCPS.

5/13 League Night

Shout out this week goes out to Mike Henry for acing Hole #2. Pays out $140. Nice ace dude, huge hyser skip ace! We had another good turn out even though it threatened to rain for most of the evening. 28 players came out to brave the conditions. Just as a reminder, we will be at Starr Park in two weeks. Thats the 27th of May, we will be meeting at one of the three pavillions. We shouldn't be that hard to find, all three pavillions a relatively close. League collected $40 in league fee ... more

5/6 League Night

Holy Moly! 41 People came out to Play doubles at Wagner. What a great turn out. Thanks to everyone for coming out and supporting your local club. Matt and Dan shot "Lights Out", -15 under par nice job guys. Maybe next week Joe, Justin, Gary and Shane.. $100 dollars collected in league fees for a total of $185. $35 collected in extra dollar ace pool that is being used to upgrade our local courses. $36 dollars added to the ace pool bringing thr total to $116. See y'all next week and don't forget to bring your game.

4/29 League Night

Nice win Cali. Justin takes home the money playing as Cali. Shaun and Nate just couldn't catch him. Maybe next week guys. 32 players again, AWESOME!!! lets keep'm coming. Don't forget to be there early.....Once the chips have been drawn there no going back. Justin and Gary will be drawing chips at 6:00pm prompt. $40 collected in league fees and $26 collected in extra dollar ace pool. All league fees and extra dollar ace pool money will be used for the improvement of our local ... more

4/22 League Night

Even better turn out this week....32 people. Much smoother getting people out to their holes. $40 collected in leagues fees for a total of $145. $29 added to the ace pool for a total of $54. If you haven't been out to Wagner to check out the new signs, get out there and check them out. They're awesome!!!!!! See ya'll next week.

4/15 League night

Good turn out for the first week, 26 people. A little shaky at the beginning but next week should be smoother. $105 collected in league dues. Practice basket here we come!!!!
