The 11th Annual ROYAL OAK OPEN disc golf tournament will be held this coming Saturday, September 17th, 2011.

The flyer for the 2011 ROYAL OAK OPEN is now available at http://www.discgolfscene.com/tournaments/11th_Annual_Royal_Oak_Open .

The Motor City Chain Gang will be hosting this event held at Starr-Jaycee and Wagner Parks in Royal Oak, Michigan. Once again, Gary Hutchinson and Justin Garrison from the Royal Oak Disc Golf club will be the Tournament Directors.

Registration is between 8am and 9am at Starr-Jaycee Park on 13 Mile Road (just east of Crooks).
The Players meeting is shortly after with tee-off scheduled for approximately 9:15ish am.

Format is 1 Round of 18 holes at Starr-Jaycee Park with a short lunch break followed by the 2nd Round of 18 holes played at Wagner Park.

The field will be capped at 72 players.

No Aces were hit tonight so the pot goes to $28. As of now the league has raised over $2000 for course improvements. Thanks to everyone who has come out to help support Royal Oak Discgolf. I see tee pads in our near future and possibly some other goodies. As soon as the weather cooperates we are going to need some help with installing new tee pads. Please contact Justin Garrison or Gary Hutchinson if you would like to help out. Any help would be appreciated.

Congrats to John Nobel for hitting an ACE on hole 14! I think the weather scared most of our usuals away, but we still managed to have a solid turnout. Thanks to everyone who came out to brave the weather. All in all it was a great night for Discgolf, some great scores were turned in and everyone seemed to be having fun. Don't forget that next week we are at Starr Park. The earlier you can be there the better off we are, we are losing daylight fast and the sooner we can get started the more daylight we will have.

We are at Starr this week and the ACE pool is starting to really grow....come get it if you think you got game. $166 plus last weeks total and then this weeks on top of that. looking like we may be over $200. Yeha!

Mike and Mike tore it up this week, shooting an impressive -15. Great shooting guys! We may have to make a new rule thats says no 1000 rated players can team up with top 10 rated amatures. Congrats to both of you on your recent achievements. (not bad for a couple of Wagner bums :-) )

Shane Wyatt took down the 50/50 CTP and Mike Rabin took down the CTP for a ROC. Again congrats to you guys.

No aces were hit tonight.....so the pool grows to $55.

Matt Oller wins a Disc for CTP and Brad Frase wins the 50/50 CTP. Awesome job guys! I think thats the second time in three weeks that Brad has won the 50/50.

We collected $20 in league memberships and $33 in xtra dollar ace for a total of $53, that will be added to the Wagner/Starr course inprovement fund.

Seriously?....Seriously!....Shooting -16 under par. Come on! It was was beautiful evening and the scores reflected just that.

We had 33 people come out and participate. Thanks to everyone for coming out and supporting the Wagner - Starr Discgolf League. We have managed to raise $438 thus far and spent $102 on paint for new Tee signs, scorecards, flyers and 2x4's for more Tee signs. Bringing the total to $336. Thanks to Justin and Gary and everyone else for all the work you are doing.

Shout out this week goes out to Mike Henry for acing Hole #2. Pays out $140. Nice ace dude, huge hyser skip ace! We had another good turn out even though it threatened to rain for most of the evening. 28 players came out to brave the conditions. Just as a reminder, we will be at Starr Park in two weeks. Thats the 27th of May, we will be meeting at one of the three pavillions. We shouldn't be that hard to find, all three pavillions a relatively close. League collected $40 in league fees and another $24 in extra dollar ace pool. See y'all next week, don't forget "Throw for show and Putt for doe!"

Justin and Gary will be drawing chips at 6:00pm prompt. $40 collected in league fees and $26 collected in extra dollar ace pool.
