There have been some suggestions made by other clubs regarding the ace fund. Other clubs have capped their ace at 200, 100 or even 50 dollars. They have also used their ace fund for improvements on the course, instead of using it as an ace fund. I think that the club as a whole needs to decide whether we think this is an option we would like to consider, or whether we just want to let the money continue to grow, knowing that it may be won by someone who is not a regular or a club member. Just a ... more
Some people have made it apparent that they would like to play 19 holes during doubles. This is fine by me, we're going to have to start to think about pushing the time back though because light hours are going to become a factor. We got done playing later than usual last week simply because we added the wooded holes, so if we're adding an extra hole to play we may be playing into the nighttime hours if we keep the 6 o'clock start. We'll vote tonight on how many holes we'll be playing. Thanks everyone :)
Next league day, this Tuesday April 19th @ 6PM. Thanks to Jon D and Mitchard. See you all in 2 weeks :)
We will be playing scrambles on Tuesdays until the tournament scheduled on the 25th. Following the weekend of the 25th we will be starting to hold the scrambles on the weekend, day and time TBD. If anyone has any ideas of when and what time they would like, please feel free to share. I don't see why we can't take a legitimate vote on the subject. This is simply due to daylight hours that are going to become more scarce the colder it gets... Once the weather breaks in the spring we can move the day back to Tuesday. Thanks everyone :)
Forgot to remind everyone tonight.. We need to be aware that it's going to start getting dark sooner. Tee off at 6 PM is becoming more important. Also, we'll play for tags at the end of every month by having singles with combined scores. This way the tags can be redistributed atleast once a month aside from the rounds you guys (and gals) are getting in otherwise.
Don't forget, our Bag Tag Challenge/Fundraising Tourney is this weekend, Sunday August 22nd at 1 PM. Players meeting at 12PM. 3 divisions, Open, AM or Womens. There will be small payouts for each division. $25 covers club registration, bag tag and 1 raffle ticket for an Innova Discatcher portable basket. There will be extra raffle tickets available day of. Also, the SDGA is donating half of the current ace fund to this event for a 150 foot throw off. $5 for 3 throws, $10 for 7. Whoever hits ... more
Keep up the great work! It's always nice to see new faces around the camp fire, if you get my drift. Thanks to the guys who showed up from Warren, Medina, Canton, Punderson, Portage Lakes.. The more players we have the more spots that are likely to be paid out, so.. Keep up the great work in spreading the word. :)
From now on, there will be no switching between pools, unless someone is moving up to the A pool. With the amount of people that we have playing it's not to everyone's advantage for someone who can shoot under par to be paired with another player who can do the same. There's many B players who are repeatedly not winning, and the only chance to do so is to practice and get better.. The only way to go is up from here!
In case I forget to mention it, the bag tag challenge/club membership day is going to be Sunday, August 22nd at 1 PM. Also, I have heard many players state they are finding unmarked discs on the course. Please be vigilant and be sure to put atleast your name on the back of your discs. I know that a lot of people believe that discs won't be returned if found, but a lot of us are more than willing to return a lost disc simply because we've been in the same boat before. So.. claim your property! Discs aren't cheap :)
Thanks everyone for spreading the word to your fellow disc golfers. It thoroughly makes me happy to see new faces every week. We're now up to 51 players. If only we could get everyone in the same place on the same week. But all in all, thanks for spreading the word, and I'll continue to do so as well.
Great news. The park board is on board with scrambles. Next up, club membership day/bag tag challenge. TBD..most likely mid-August but we'll keep you updated at the weekly scrambles.
In order for your scores to be posted to your discgolf scene profile, I need to have your e-mail address so that it may be linked to your account.

Day/Time Change
To all the Tuesday Evening Scramblers.. It's official. We are moving to Saturday afternoons at 2 PM until further notice (aka, next year). The format, etc, still remains the same. We will start this Saturday, the 17th. The following weekend is the Hall of Chains in Canton and since Eric and I will both be in attendance, we will either be canceling scrambles for this day, or looking for someone else who is a current member of the club that would be willing to run the scrambles. If no one is able, we will see everyone again on Saturday, October the 1st. Hope to see you this weekend.
