so then...lets just continue with business as usaual at the scrambles. ace funds get capped at $300 and a 6pm Tee Off. teams are drawn at 5:55.
we are scheduling a meeting for Sunday AUG 21 at hudson springs 2pm. we have a lot of things to cover for the very near future. so any ideas for fundraising, course improvements, club membership purks, etc. can be put on paper and organized.
hopefully that is enough time for you guys to plan in advance.

Can someone please explain to me why we are trying to push away players? I'm all for starting on time, but some of the decisions and thoughts being tossed around lately just do not make sense.

Why would we cannibalize the ace fund now? Half of it is gone. How many people come out just for that chance at the $300 ace fund, and if it was all gone now, they wouldn't show up. Now there is still $300, and we have a good amount of people showing up to fill up the next one. the more people that show, the fast it gets filled. Ok, so only a local wins it, great, but how much extra cash did the club make, and still stand to make from all those guys traveling in that wouldn't have other wise showed up? If we get to a point where we are pushing 3 capped ace funds, then maybe we should think about using one to fund tee pads.

why on earth would we add in playing 19 to the round, and then start discussing moving up the starting time? Its obvious some people are already pushing it to make it by 6. Shown by the fact that we have to stress that we will be starting at 6pm sharp. So now lets make that time 5:30, and do so sooner because some people want to still play the old #18. The club needs to leave it at 6 for as long as possible to play 18, not 19 holes because the sooner you change it to 5:45 or 5:30, the club will lose a lot of players and all those players $1 each week. Besides, the more the merrier right?

just seems like common sense decisions to me. I don't understand why there is a debate.You can say we should have a vote, and majority voted to play 19, but the majority isn't always right, and doesn't always have the best interest for club in mind.

If you are not included in this random draw, we won't take your money, and you won't be included in the scramble. (you're more than welcome to play with us, just not for the $$). No more exceptions.

we as a group should not, and cannot count on just one individual to take care of everything for us and remember every detail.
if you noticed that the vote that you were waiting for never occurred, say something. speak up.
it's just a scramble, fun in the sun. play as many holes as the group votes.

hole 18 was removed because of the proximity to the playground and disc flight into the parking lot. another major factor is the flight pattern for the RHBH. which many people intentionally throw over 10s tee, during tournament play it will not be used. i guess for a scramble it would depend on course congestion and time constraints.

as for the basket, point taken. i guess there should have been a full vote. i figured we were good to go after talking about the purchase with many of the contributing members on a number of occasions over the two months of course work. i never heard any objections, not even one. once again... we as a whole need to work it all out.

I feel it was $$$ not well spent. You want to vote on playing an extra hole,whether to cap the ace fund,etc.but no vote on major expenses.I call bullshit!

We are no longer throwing over the walking path on the back 9, to avoid hitting people, etc etc.... That is why it's now a practice basket. I could care less if we play the thing during scrambles and personally am tired of going back and forth about it on here. We can vote next week, Greg I'd love it if you could handle it and take a count and then we'll go from there. Problem fixed.

I also feel as if we shouldn't combine the holes, only because we were trying to leave the front 9 "beginner friendly".. as far as the 530 start goes, it's going to have to be pushed up eventually.. I'm not sure what else I can say about it. In regards to the groups of 6.. what other options are there? I'd love to hear some ideas..

I also do not see the need for a vote on playing 19. why have mobs of people throwing at it when it says practice on it. Medina has a practice basket, do you see people adding a tee in just to play 19 and throw at it? People practicing ave the right away at a practice basket, and we cant wait around for them if we are concern about time anyway for the scramble rounds. To say that the scramble group has priority over a casual group practicing, and then yelling for the casual group to look out, reflects poorly upon the club.

Also, wasn't one of the points to the changes because the park didn't want us throwing towards the playground, parking lot, and picnic table as much? they did some kick ass work on moving the baskets for us and removing that old crapper, why not do more things to make them happy?

Eric mentioned another change that would include combining holes 1 and 2. This would mean that we would have to play old 18 to have 18 holes. Hopefully everyone that is a club member will be there early enough to cast a vote on both issues. I get the feeling we're going to have to change the time to 530 sooner than everyone thinks...

If the park really did have an issue with 18 being so close to the parking lot, then we should not use it for the league scrambles. I will still throw it on my own though for fun. Also, you have "practice" on the basket. so when joe shmoe comes up to practice while a scramble is being played, what are you going to do? yell at the guy for practicing on the practice basket? I see your point Greg, but it would have to be changed so that the basket is no longer the official practice basket, but is now the official 19 basket. I don't think that is going to happen.

D: We're now using that for any ties that occur (throw-offs)
