We have made it through the regular season which means, it is time for our Hi-Lo doubles tournament! Players will be teamed up according to their handicap after dividing the league into 4 equal parts.

Check-in at the table near hole #1 between 4:15 – 5pm. Players meeting at 5:15pm with teeoff soon after. No guests on Tuesday as this is a members only event.

We'll have some more CTPs and just a note that aces are paid @$100 per ace. Aces at Hi-Lo come out of the overall Hi-Lo budget so if you ace, you're stealing from those that cash :|

Another big story is the emergence of Mr. Rob Buit moving up 3 spots to #4 within reach of another jacket himself. Meanwhile, Tasi continues his torrid pace and remains atop the scoring race. Best Adjusted Score Tournament
$5 to enter - place money in the envelope near #1 tee and be sure to sign your name as well. All funds will be paid out to the top 1/3rd.

Hidden Achievements
Free to enter - Unlock magical disc golf rewards...but how? Maybe it's a deuce on a certain hole, bogey on another, or could it be a CTP achievement? You'll have to play to find out.

Accuracy Contest
$5 to enter - Similar to last year, contestants will throw 4 shots each at 4 stations ranging from 100' to 300' on the solar panel field. The closer you are to the target, the more points you'll earn. Cash payouts will be given out by division.

3 weeks to go and the scoring race is heating up! It appears that this year's green jacket will be going to either Marc Nelesen or Steve Dewitt but there is an outside chance of Trevor or Zach spoiling their party if the two put up some big numbers. Don't count Chris or Dennis out either. Meanwhile in the points race, Tasi continues to lead but there will be some fluctuation the last few weeks as DGS starts to drop the low rounds. Excitement in both races!

Tonight will feature our first installment of the Awesome Days of...July, August, Summer? Whatever the name, it's the return of the fun previously known as Awesome Days of August. The full schedule will be announced at a later date, but tonight is the Putting Contest.

What: ADoA Putting Contest
Where: Start at the practice basket, -->18 Black--> Hole E-->Hole F
When: 4:30pm to 9pm
Cost: $5 - players and awards will play by divisions. Top 4 scores advance to the finals held during the SADGC awards on 8/27

How to play:
Put $5 in the envelope on the board near #1, get a group of 2 to 5 players, grab a putting contest scorecard, and start at the practice basket. Stations will be marked in paint around each basket. Start at station #1 and proceed through station #18. Make a putt at that station and you receive the # of points allocated for that particular putt. Harder putts will have a higher point value. When finished, put your group's scorecard in the marked envelope. Only 1 round allowed per player.

Greetings everyone! It's hard to believe we are already 6 weeks into the season. There are a lot of things happening so please see below for some announcements and reminders:

- Back in Black! This Tuesday we will start our Black Pin section of league. We'll play 5 weeks of Black Pin golf followed by a 24-hole Black Pin divisional tournament on 7/16.

- The Shore Acres Open is this weekend! The tournament is already over halfway full, so be sure to sign up soon using the applicable division link below:

- Teeing off on #1 has gone smoothly this year using the announcement board for tee-off order. Please continue to write your group name on the signu-up sheet to ensure an organized tee-off on #1.

- New - Guests will now be able to place their $5 fee in an envelop next to the tee-off signup sheet. The $5 fee must be in there prior to tee-off to claim CTPs or receive Ace Pool funds.

- Once you have teed-off on #1, all league players are expected to finish their rounds. To maintain competitive fairness in the scoring race, we will add 2 throws on top of any compeititor's average if their DNF (did not finish) is for something other than:
A) Family or personal emergency
B) Injury
C) Other extreme cases deemed worthy by playing group and committee review
If one of the above cases is met, please ensure that it is communicated with your group and committee members.
Any player playing in the PDGA league will also have PDGA applicable rules applied to their PDGA scoring.

It was one of the calmest nights I can remember at Shore Acres and many players took advantage of the calm conditions. Leading the way were a trio of players posting 49s - Marc Nelesen, Jeremy Post, and Trevor Wander. Meanwhile, Ryan House fired a 44 (54) adjusted score to take 88 points.

Next week is our first divisional tournament. We'll split players into 5 divisions and compete for prizes and State Championship Berths! We'll be playing 24 holes via a shotgun start.

Check-in at hole #1: 4:15 to 5:00pm (you must check in!)
Players Meeting: 5:15pm
TeeOff: shortly after the players meeting

5 State Championship Berths will be handed out to the champions of Divisions 1-3, the lowest score in Division 4/5, and the next lowest score not receiving a berth. A sudden death playoff will decide all 1st place ties starting on hole E while CTP throw-offs will decide all other ties.

The week 1 poem is now upon us,
I hope you have thawed and are dry,
For week 1 was a scoring blood bath,
If it was Game of Thrones, someone would die!

So many throws did take place,
One record is set thus far,
Can you guess what it was?
I will tell you…only 2 players under par!

The hot round Tuesday night,
Was shared by pro hot round takers,
Mike Wolters and Zach Vaughn,
Both are veteran members of Shore Acres.

The best adjusted score you wonder,
Was thrown by an existing member,
His name is one Jeffry Marculaitis,
A Christmas present granted from last December.

And perhaps the highlight of the night,
Took place 3 nights ago,
White walkers were conquered,
Maybe we should thank Jon Snow?

“Winter is coming” so they say,

75 players took to the course yesterday for one last tune-up before we open the season next Tuesday. The cold weather made the course play almost a full throw harder than the previous week with only 6 players breaking par. David Kleiman takes the final preseason hot round honors with the best yellow round so far, a 48.

Week #3 brought our first glimpse of the yellow pins where only 11 players broke par. Leading the way were Shane Robinson and Zach Vaughn with a pair of 50's. Assuming the weather is decent, I predict well see multiple people in the 40's for the final preseason tune-up.

The DGS league page is acting funny and the leaderboards aren't populating properly, in addition to players being removed for no reason. If you notice anything else goofy, let me know. I've provided feedback to the admin so hopefully we won't see any other issues.

A few reminders:
We'll be playing the yellow pins for the next 8 weeks.
There are 2 more Tuesdays of preseason.
Please keep your playing groups to 3 or 4 players. 5-somes add significant length to the groups playing behind them.

The season has begun with a strong week 1 preseason showing of 68 players. Leading the pack with 55's are 3 familiar faces Trevor Wander, Travis Prueter, and Chris Kaiser. Time will tell if these 3 are green jacket contenders or pretenders. A mix of rust and weather kept the scores high as only 9 players broke 60.
