If you are looking fo something to do this Saturday ABDG has offered to help with a work party at Leverich Park this Saturday to get things ready for the busy season ahead.

The plan is 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Bring gloves, rakes, shovels, trimming tools, etc.

The goal is to pick up every speck of trash, any downed branches to be moved off fairways, spread bark chips in key areas, repaint tee lines on holes 6, 10, and 11 and clear bamboo to make room for an alternate pin location on hole 4. Tee sign repair, adding hooks on signs and new caps. Also graffiti removal from baskets and/or signs.

If we have enough volunteers, time and materials we would also like to terrace the fairway going up hole 11.
Open to players suggestions on any other changes.

Also, if we have a pickup or two it would be great to have them running out to get chips for people.

There will be a doubles round after the park cleanup.

Come out and give back to a great disc golf park, a couple hours can go a long way..

April 30th - May 1st, Leverich Park, 2 rounds each day - same format both days, so you can pick either Saturday or Sunday to play. This event is geared twords new players to the game, so bring your friends & family.
There will be prizes, give aways, skill shots, potluck BBQ & fun for all ages & skill sets.

Hordes of Disc Golfers will be playing the game all over the world on this weekend, come & be a part of the celebration!

There will be 3 divisions, Intermediate, Advanced & Open. Last time we had 7 open players., than you for stepping up!
As a rule of thumb, If You Play negative (-) at these park you should sign up as Advanced & if you play over(+), play Intermediate.

Each Park will have its own prizes & play offs.

80% of the pot is paid out to the players of both divisions, 20% goes into fund for prizes for following weeks.
I picked up some new CTP's for this event.

The coffee shop is back open & they now carry a selection of Discs!
Meet up at Park Place Coffee after 10:15 for a tee off of 11.

Timber Park is one of my favorite parks, I was there a few days ago & they were for the most part in the short positions.
ABDG always has a tun of fun at this park!
Well it looks like we are going to get lucky with tomorrows weather. So far its mostly cloudy but bring some rain gear just in case.
I will have several prizes tomorrow including some new club swag!
This should be a warm up for those of you attending the glow round going on at Timber this weekend.

We had allot of fun out there at Leverich this week. With the Pirate theme I could hear Arr's from afar.. And our 1st official GrillMaster BBQ day. Many thanks to Kerry, Keep up the good work. Bring Meat every week & he will grill it.
Little Mikey took home bagtag #1 with the best score, followed by Travilin Mike & Jimbo.
Mikey won some movies & a mini, Mike took the CTP for a nice wicker lunch basket & Jimbo with Ghost Busters. :)
This weeks most improved player goes to Cam & Krissy - good job!
The second round doubles was a bit blurry due to too much grog, Mikey & Shaggy won with a -11 NICE!

For those of you that are not aware ABDG tags have an expiration date, I originally started this league with a time frame of 6 months & 100 tags. We ended up issuing 100 tags by the 4 month mark, so the next set of tags are going to be 1 year & 200 tags with a tournament in between.

Just about a month to go before our BagTag finals on 8/18/2k10. This is on a Wednesday, so please make arrangements to have the day free.
This will be a tournament style finals with 2 rounds at Dabney Park.

Here are a few things that ABDG members should know.

1. Finals will be 2 rounds, 1st round - ALL TAGS that show up are in.
2. 2nd round is the play offs for the highest & lowest 25 tags.
3. Finals will be $5 entry fee.
4. There will be trophies, a couple CTP's & prizes.
5. Raffle on day of event, tickets available up until the day of tournament.
6. Lowest 10 tags at end will be issued the new BagTags.
7. Current 2k10 tags will not be valid after the finals, I will collect them as I see them.
8. New tags will be available for purchase on day of finals for $5, new tags are much nicer then old ones.
9. Side pot optional for highest 25 tags - 2nd round


We will be having a club meeting next Wednesday (7/21/2k10) do discuss upcoming Finals.

I had a great time out at Hornings Hideout this week with all of you, I hope to do it again soon, thank you for your support! Maybe next time we will have enough people to do a Pro & Am sign up. I will get the tournament scores posted soon, I have yet to run a tourney from the DG scene and posting scores is a bit more detailed, it will help us prepare for the finals coming soon.
Here are a few notes from the event that we need to work on for next time.
1. Ace pot was not hit, so the club ace pot has been increased.
2. I think next time we should do 2 rounds.
3. Several people did not pay Horning's, so i will have to pre charge next time.
4. Club proceeds went to Horning's for the people that didnt pay.
5. None of the top 3 winners have a dg scene profile, so no stars were given out.
6. There were 24 sign ups, & paid out $96 to 3 places.
7. All & all I think it was a fun event and a learning experience for future events

First of all, thank you to all of you that have been updating your scores & tags, helps allot. This will become much more important in the coming months leading upto the finals on 8/18/2k10.

I have added the option to add Additional playoff strokes for Extra strokes taken during a playoff tie-breaker. So if you do not add any additional play off strokes during a tie, the lower tag will go to the person with the lower beginning tag.

I have stated to a few people that we were pushing to go to Rooster Rock this week. then I was reminded about an event going on at Next Adventure. There will be a DISC GOLF EXCLUSIVE Meet the Legends on Wendsday from 4:30 to 6:30, there will be several Pro's there.
So I have decided to have this weeks BagTag at Pier Park, and then skip evening sign ups (now that there are 100 tags out there) & go to this event.
We may even run into a few pros out at Pier that day since the Beaver fling is this weekend.

If its really bad we can go up the street to Orchard Park.

This weeks BagTag started out as frustrating day. I apologize to all the new members for the confusion with the park appearing to be closed.
