So the temps dipped back down but not enough for double points. All in all that is a good thing as Spring is here and the Winter season is official over for Ypsi Dubs Glow.

Now do not worry because the Original Ypsi Dubs Tuesday will begin next Tuesday and Matt Schooley will be at the helm as he was last summer and I will be there to drive him crazy and accept all the kudos ;-) Thanks Matt.

Ben and Nate - Sorry, I did not verify last names so if I have the wrong entry for last night's round please let me know and I'll fix it so you get credit for it on here and the MiCPS-W. Great to have you guys out at Ypsi Dubs.

I'd also like to extend a big thanks to Scott Sprow. Not only did he step up to take on Washtenaw County Glow at Bandemer since Scott White defected to the Canadian Disc Golf Leagues ;-) but Scott facilitated cooperatively combining Ypsi Dubs Glow and WC Glow alternating weeks/courses, which increasing participation and the overall FUN factor. He also ran this league when I was out. Thanks Scott, it is always a pleasure collaborating with you - thanks for your dedication to leagues. I look forward to our next winter collaborations.

A big thanks to all you crazy winter disc golfers. Some crazy weather, double points and crazy storms, It is crazy but it also adds a lot to the disc'n experience to be out in these conditions, getting our Glow On, while the sun sets early. It all because you all that I'm out each week and enjoy this all so much. What a great group of players. THANKS!

OK - Last Night - Last Round

Well coming in to the round Brett Russel was just ahead of Jason Jopps and a bit further ahead of me. What Me - just goes to show coming out every week really does help the point accrual, along with some great partners ;-).

Unfortunately Jason had work commitments which did not let him make it out to challenge the top spot but Brett was out to secure his berth. Brett had the lead, had a solid round to secure second place last night and as icing on the cake another Winter Ace to amass 106 points and take home the berth to the 2013 Discraft Michigan State Championships in Ludington in Sept. Congrats to Jason Kirkaldy who managed to jump up to second overall. Jason Jopps for third place overall. Great season guys.

OK you saw the sun, you adjusted your clocks, the snow is melting - ignore any of those little flurries that may come and go - Spring is here and so Ypsi Dubs Tuesday will return to Rolling Hills starting on the 19th. Assuming someone will run it for me since I will not be in the country that week....

One Discraft Michigan State Championships berth will be given away after this round is complete. I'm sure Brett and Jason will be there to defend their current 1st and 2nd place positions on the leaderboard. I hope to nail an Ace to sneak up from 3rd place ;-)

It's been great to continue this league all winter long and especially to collaborate with Scott Sprow and WC Glow to alternate weeks and mix courses and players to add to the fun.

All of you that are made of Sugar and Spice and everything Nice - may want to stay home so you don't melt but the rest of you we're playing Spring Glow @ MBD. Great round - 16 players which made for even more fun. Great to have Brooke Plantz, Ben Ciccarelli, Scott White and Johnny "B" out for the first time this winter. If anyone knows how to get a hold of Johnny Blansett let me know - Thanks.

The temp were colder than this last weekend and although it got down felling like 16 degrees at 4:00 the coldest recorded temp for Ann Arbor during the round felt like 18 degrees, so we have to enjoy the double fun and not double points but I suspect we can anticipate some double points rounds soon.

The cold did not put much of a damper on the scores. Jason Jopps and Derek Trinkle pulled out a -16. Jason just missed an Ace and second later Jamie Mosier threw a beautiful S curve through the narrow direct route to #6 basket to smash and stay for an Ace. Jason Kirkaldy helped Jamie secure the tie for First at -16. The extra 25 Ace points jumped Jamie up the Ypsi Dubs leaderboard from 22nd to 8th place and put $63 in his pocket - but the MiCPS-Winter 50 Points helped jump Jamie up from 20th place to 4th place overall - NICE!. The first place finish for Jason Jopps moved him past Jeff Poissant and Foz to take over the top position.

Thanks to Scott White who donated the Detroit Disc Golf Club GLOW disc for our CTP and congrats to Ben Ciccarelli who won the CTP landing inches from the basket on Hole #1 - Nice Shot!!! Ben...

Ypsi Dubs and Washtenaw Glow have combined efforts to offer a bit more diversity and get the players together.

Starting in Dec we will alternate each week between the two leagues, with only one glow league each week.

Make sure you always check the league schedules but this is the base schedule.

Both leagues are part of the DGLA MiCPS-Winter 2013 so you will get points when ever you play one of these glow rounds plus you in on what ever these two individual leagues offer, such as MDGO State Championship berths.....

This round will be our first DGLA Michigan Cooperative Point Series - Winter (MiCPS - W) 2013 - so if you like collecting points, Hoping to be crowned the Michigan Disc Golf League Winter Champion or hoping to win a MDGO Michigan State Disc Golf Championships berth you can double dip. Ypsi Dubs pays out after each round and Ypsi Dubs Glow points are awarded so we can have our local league winners and award MDGO State Berths and the DGLA MiCPS-W will be awarding berths again and for the DGLA Player Members you get awarded based on your final point total. Double the fun ;-)

Well last night Matt and Jake Schooley schooled the rest of us and took first with -13 at Mary Beth Doyle. For the card it came down to hole 18 and they pulled out the deuce to take it by a stroke. That wasn't the only excitement on hole 18 for the night. Sean Manning managed to close out his round with an Ace on Hole 18 and put $64 bucks in his pocket. Nice Shot Sean.

It was decided to push the start time back until 6:30 to allow more time around rush hour for everyone to arrive. It was also discussed to give another location a whirl and Waterworks is the location for next week. So 6:30 at Waterworks - spread the word.

There is only 6 more weeks of Disc Golf until the End of the World according to Harvey's calendar so get your rounds in while you still can....

Thanks for your support of Ypsi Dubs Tuesday. This last Tuesday was our last round at Rolling Hills on Tuesdays until next year. But the fun does not need to end on Tuesdays. Come out to Mary Beth Doyle (Brown Park) starting next week with a tee off at 6:00. If your running late call someone to get you registered before roll call at 5:50. We will have some Red LED flat packs for sell or check out the Throwshop for more options and a great assortment of glow discs.

If this league has participation than it will continue through the winter and will be part of the DGLA MiCPS Winter 2012/13 point series.

Morning showers but clear by the evening, 48 degrees at 6:00 down to 42 by 10:00 9 mph winds NICE! No double points but these warm rounds are great given what we are about to have for the next few months. Enjoy them while you can.

Great evening of glow last night - warmer weather and little wind made for another great night at Mary Beth Doyle.

Ken Moote playing Cali edged out the rest with a -15 and took home all the cash. No Aces so the Ace Pool climbs to $166. but you'll have to wait two weeks to have another shot at those Aceable holes as we will not have Ypsi Dubs Glow on Tuesday but rather we will be at Bandemer on Wednesday with Washtenaw Glow and it should be a bigger turn out at both leagues.

A few people asked why this league did not show up on their profile page under "League Standings". It was not a Point based league (Point Series league) since it had been a short lived league carrying over from the summer for those who wanted to get out still on Tuesdays. I just changed the league to a point series so now the league has standings and it will show up on your profile page. Old dogs can learn new stuff - but don't ask me next week because I will have forgotten it by then.

It also means we have leaderboard with standings so here is the top 20. - See you next Wednesday at Bandemere - Tee off at 7:00 so you have more time if your running from work.
