We will kick off the 2013 bag tag year with 24 holes of hukin. The order you finish today will determine what tag you will begin the year with. So bring your $20 for 2013 dues and let's get the competition rockin. Your dues will get you a bag tag and get you into at least 2 club functions where the club will provide food and drinks as well as cash prizes.

We had a nice turn out of 11 hukers for the year end bag tag toss. We decided to award those that came with the top 10 tags. However, the actual 1-10 tags were not present, so everyone just made sure they had a tag when they left, just as a keep sake. For instance, Jim finished 5th in the toss and therefore would have the #5 tag, but the #5 tag wasn't at the toss, so he just grabbed the #23 tag to keep as a momento. The leader board on Disc Golf Scene is the only place that the Year End Tags are reflected. So, if you don't have the tag that the leader board reflects, it's not a problem. We are done with tag competition for the year so whatever tag is on your bag, it's yours to keep!

Thanks to everyone who joined Red Hills Disc Golf this year, it really was a great year and we are all responsible for growing the sport of disc golf. We will have a kick off tourney sometime in mid-January, so be on the lookout for an e-mail or post as to when that will be.

Hey Red Hillers...We had a great day at the Mac yesterday as the park/course was a project which was part of HOTC Volunteer day. We sealed the benches, added dirt around tee pads, painted alt pin location PVC pipes, picked up a ton of trash, and planted 6 trees. All 6 trees are strategically placed on the course to make you think about certain shots before you let her rip. We had some time left over at the end and Gareth, Rob, and Allen demonstrated putting and driving to the kids. They all had a great time and thrilled to be a part of a great day.

So with that being said, the course is in its best shape ever and the weather is screaming for you to come out for some tag action today...Brewster, that means you. Forrest, you too. Cullin, where you been. Bobby, skip the nap and come play. Eli, come on! We will begin at 2:00, so come a little early so we can get carded up. C yall there.

Man, we had a dern good time playing night golf last night. Scott and Adrian whooped us all to take the night doubles round, while Allen went low on the singles day round, not only did he win the payout plus $25 gas card CTP, but he started the day by being the first male to cross the finish line in The Run For Rover (note: he was running against a bunch of middle schoolers), and made some chocolate chip cookies (from scratch) for the night toss. A great time was had by all. Carter, Gareth's son, rode along and caddied for the whole day round with a smile on his face the entire time!

We will have the singles toss today at 2:00, as always, come a little early so we can get carded up. The Ace Pot is still in effect, and is still a big number!

I talked to Rob Nucatola this morning and he said that a cold front will be moving in at about 1:00, so, the heat should not be a factor. And anyway, if you can't take the heat, get yo butt off the course. Hope to see a big turnout today.

Our first RedHillsDiscGolf club "Member Only" event will be this Saturday at The Mac. Simply put, disc upon disc upon disc upon disc will be thrown. Come early, but at 10:00, a 12- hole round of doubles will begin; burgers and dogs will be grilled after that; and the afternoon will involve a singles format, with tags in play. Side games and CTPs will be active throughout the day. So, bring your "A" game, your "game" face, and of course your discs, duh!

The first quarter of this Bag Tag year have been really great. Please encourage others in the community and surrounding areas to join. Big Ups to Scott Layfield for being the first, that many know of, to hit the putt from the mando drop zone to save par. Davis needs some recognition for a few things... killing a moccasin, retrieving countless discs in the "Black Hole", recording the most "Challenge" rounds (47), and going through the most shirts in a round. Several of our players have done very well in tournament play and we took a nice crew to the Ocala Tourney where Gareth, Adrian, and Rob played really solid disc golf. Big Ups to Andrew, our resident Jedi, who was our only member to get invited to the AM Worlds in Charlotte; which also earned him an invitation to the GA Disc Golf Championships; Rob and Jim also earned invitation with their division winning play at the Valdosta Open. Cheers to the Taggers who have gotten an ace or two or three this year, and continued effort for those still searching.
