Our first RedHillsDiscGolf club "Member Only" event will be this Saturday at The Mac. Simply put, disc upon disc upon disc upon disc will be thrown. Come early, but at 10:00, a 12- hole round of doubles will begin; burgers and dogs will be grilled after that; and the afternoon will involve a singles format, with tags in play. Side games and CTPs will be active throughout the day. So, bring your "A" game, your "game" face, and of course your discs, duh!
The first quarter of this Bag Tag year have been really great. Please encourage others in the community and surrounding areas to join. Big Ups to Scott Layfield for being the first, that many know of, to hit the putt from the mando drop zone to save par. Davis needs some recognition for a few things... killing a moccasin, retrieving countless discs in the "Black Hole", recording the most "Challenge" rounds (47), and going through the most shirts in a round. Several of our players have done very well in tournament play and we took a nice crew to the Ocala Tourney where Gareth, Adrian, and Rob played really solid disc golf. Big Ups to Andrew, our resident Jedi, who was our only member to get invited to the AM Worlds in Charlotte; which also earned him an invitation to the GA Disc Golf Championships; Rob and Jim also earned invitation with their division winning play at the Valdosta Open. Cheers to the Taggers who have gotten an ace or two or three this year, and continued effort for those still searching.
