A big congratulations goes out to Jacob Quiton for his 1st place finish during the Spring/Summer 2024 season! Jake (& partner) had 8 winning (first cash, or tie for first cash) rounds out of the 21 total that he played. Including a 3-week winning streak on May 15th, 22nd & 29th!

During the season we had 60 different players come out to play at least one round with WC Glow. 31 of those player joined us for our final round of the season that was held on August 21st. An all short pad layout, clear skies & warm air temps made for a perfect evening for some low scores. Taking solo first cash with a -16 score was Sprow/Quiton (shocker). Great job guys! Second cash was taken by Brayton/Sweet, shooting -14. Third thru fifth (last) cash was split evenly by M.Kelly/Trombley, Blansett/Vargas & Common/Krumm, all three teams with -13 scores.

With all short pads in play it was a perfect opportunity for aces on the last night. Jen Trombley & Andrew Rusinek took advantage of that opportunity! Jen aced hole 16 & Trout aced hole 13. Both taking home $61 & adding 30 last minute points to their standings. Excellent shots!

We had an excellent turnout of 30 players for our round this past Wednesday. There was great weather for an Odd Long, Even Short layout at Mary Beth Doyle. Shooting a blistering -17 & taking solo first cash by 2 strokes was Herron/Chilson! Fantastic shooting guys! We had a tie for second & third cash between Common/Weilacher & Sprow/Blansett, both teams shooting -15 & flipping to see who took the majority of the cash, with Common/Weilacher winning the flip. Last cash was split evenly between Brayton/Thelen & Quiton/Jones, both teams with -13 scores.

We played a more difficult layout of W3, B3, R3 + B3, R3, W3 which lead to a very well played -14 from Brayton/Common, taking solo first cash! Right behind them & taking second cash was Quiton/Wolodkin, shooting -13. Last cash was taken by Sprow/Krumm with a -11.

There were 17 players that came out to Bandemer last Wednesday to play a WBR + RW layout. We had wonderful weather with clear skies & temps in the 80s. Top score from the evening & taking solo first cash was Watts/Common with a -14 score! Great shooting! Second cash went to Quiton/Rusinek with a -13. There was a tie for last cash between Sprow/Kapp & Trombley/ Wiedenfeld, both teams shooting -12.

Sprow hit an ace on Hole 9, which was monumental ace for him, as he has now aced all 9 holes at Bandemer from the red pad. He also took home $81 & added 30 points to his league standings. Congrats Scott!!

We played a Long Even, Short Odd layout which lead to a top score from Thelen/Krumm with a -12, taking solo first cash. Second cash went to Weilacher/Trombley, shooting -11. There was a tie for third & last cash between DesJardins/Anderson & Wiedenfeld/Hall, both teams with -10 scores. They decided to flip for the majority of the cash with DesJardins/Anderson winning the flip.

Quiton/M.Kelly, Weilacher/Rusinek & Howard/Blansett all shot -13.

Jen Wiedenfeld hit her 2nd ever ace on Hole 14! It also happened to be a cash CTP hole & she took home the Ladies CTP!! Congrats Jen on a fantastic round!

Last Wednesday we had a ton of rain come down before league started, which made for some wet & muddy course conditions. We decided to play a Red-Red layout with alternate Hole 7, since it was basically under water. Alternate Hole 7 was Hole 8 Blue's tee pad to Hole 7's basket, both rounds. Crouch/Weilacher took solo first cash with a -16 score! ::claps:: Second through last cash was split evenly between Krumm/Brayton, Quiton/Jones & Howard/Pardo, all teams shooting -15.

Danny Fifer rang up an ace on Hole 4 & took home $124 from the ace pool! Congrats Fife!

20 players showed up to MBD for our round last Wednesday even with the possibility of storms. We decided to play the Winter Loop layout (1, 2, 3, 10L/S, 11L/S, 12L/S, 13, 14L/S, 18 x2) to keep everyone close to the parking lot incase storms did come. Good thing we did that since after 9 holes of play, the thunder & lightning storm came through. Sprow blew the air horn & brought everyone back to their cars until the storm passed about 20 minutes later. We resumed play & finished the second 1/2 of our round without any further storm interruption. Even with the storm delay, Sprow/Wolodkin were able to shoot an impressive -17 score, taking solo first cash! Nice work guys! Second cash went to Common/Thelen with a -16 & last cash was taken by Brayton/Weilacher, shooting -15.

Congratulations to Jen Trombley for nailing an ace on Hole 10 from the short pad!! She added $126 to her pocket & 30 points to her league standing.

Warm evening brought out 29 players to play at Bandemer. Hot scores on the BWR-RW layout included a -14 by Krumm/Chilly which took the win. Closely behind at -13 was Quiton/Fifer, which was followed by a number of -12s from Sprow/Blansett, Watts/Common, and Armstrong/Hunt. Those groups chose to evenly split cash and leave the remainder to be included on a CTP for the next league round.

A threatening weather prediction before our round last week may have had an affect on the number of players that came out. We had a group of 17 show up for a round of White & Red pads at Bandemer. No storms came through & we ended up with a beautiful but humid night. There was a 3-way tie for all cashing spots between Watts/Weilacher, DesJardins/Herron & Armstrong/Quiton, all with -14 scores. They decided to split the cash but flip for a single majority payout which resulted in the Watts/Weilacher winning the flip.

Close on their heels was a trio of -13 by Ritchey/Sprow, Jen W/Rusinek, and Jen T/Armstrong. They chose to split cash, but flip a disc for the bonus amount....which went to Jen W/Rusinek.

Our first round of May brought out 19 players to play the Long Odd-Even Short layout at MBD. Weather cooperated as we had low/mid 70s at reg and start of the round with temps only dropping to the mid 60s by the end of play. These conditions led to some great scores on the night, with a -17 turned in by Trombley/Brayton, which took first place. There were a pair of -15s by Paquin/Thelen and Watts/Common. Since these two represented the other two payouts, they flipped a disc with Paquin/Thelen earning the extra amount on payout.

Heavy storms passed over Ann Arbor only a couple hours before our round this past Wednesday. 26 players came out even with slightly threatening weather, which dissipated & ended up turning into a really nice evening for disc. We played a BWR+RW layout with alternate hole 7 since all 3 of the pads were surrounded by water. We played 8 Blue’s pad to 7’s basket for the alternate hole on both rounds. There was a tie for first & second cash between Wolodkin/Blansett & Quiton/Jones, both teams with -14 scores & deciding to split the payout evenly. Third cash went to Sprow/Armstrong with a -13 score. Last cash was taken by Thelen/Pilon, shooting -11.

Steve Wolodkin hit an ace on Hole 3 from the Red pad which added $97 to his pocket & 30 points to his league standings! Congrats Steve! Great shot!

We kicked off the 2024 Spring/Summer season with 19 players at Bandemer. The weather was threatening to rain, but mostly held off except a few minutes of sprinkles. We played a RW+WR layout, which lead to a 3 way tie between Brayton/Thelen, Trombley/Perras & Quiton/Weilacher. All teams with -12 scores & deciding split the cash & flip for the extra $10. Brayton/Thelen won the flip & took the extra $10.

Matt Neal started the season off strong with a super clean ace on Hole 5 from the Red pad. Matt left with an extra $89 & donated $15 to Taco Bell on the way home. He also added 30 points to his league standing! Congrats friend.

Our round this coming week on Apr. 10th will be held at Bandemer. The weather is predicted to be about 55º at tee off with overcast skies. We will start mixing MBD into the rotation as soon as the weather & course conditions allow. Looking forward to seeing everyone in a couple days at Bandy!
