Hi everybody,

The season has ended. Congratulations to our top finishers who won some sweet discs this past Sunday at the league finale!

We'll continue to run the league on Sundays. This coming week we'll tee off at our regular time (11:00). For the following week, I am opening the floor for discussion regarding a new time. Some people have suggested beginning a little bit earlier (10:00 or 10:30) to allow people time to get home afterward to watch the football games. Perhaps a time later in the day would be preferable to others. Email me or post on the league talk page with your suggestions. We'll finalize the new time this Sunday.

Also, if you have any feedback about what you thought worked well and what you would like to change for the future of the league, please send your comments this way. Now that a new season is beginning, we can potentially make some changes. Please let me know!

This coming Sunday, September 18, will be our season finale! Come out and have some fun! After our regular league round, stick around for some lunch (Jamie will be heading this up--watch for an email from him about what to bring), and then another fun round--this time in doubles format. We should be finished up by 4:00 or 4:30. If you can't stay that long, you can just leave after lunch.

Also, don't forget that double points will be in play again for the last league round. There could be some movement at the top spots on the leader board. I just ordered the league prizes today and I think they'll be pretty awesome!

A few updates about the league here:

1.) I've made some minor changes to handicap calculations. Now, instead of getting 80% of your handicap as a stroke adjustment, everyone will receive 85%. This should tip the balance slightly more in favor of higher handicap players. Additionally, handicaps are now based on the previous 10 rounds instead of only the previous 5. Some players were having streaks of good rounds that made their handicap lower than it should have been. New score adjustments are posted in the Talk page (http://bit.ly/kbN3YM).

2.) Casual doubles play will begin on Tuesday evenings. This will be no cost, no league, etc. Just show up and play with whoever is able to come. Partners will be chosen randomly or assigned based on even skill levels. Please post on the talk page (http://bit.ly/kbN3YM) with what time would work well for you. I'm thinking 5:30 or 6:00. If Tuesday doesn't work, let me know there also.

3.) Mike and I will be going up to Flip City next week for the Farm Classic. We'd love to have some of you join us. There will be Novice and Intermediate divisions, so everybody should find a place they can compete. It's a full day of disc golf, and lots of fun. #1 rated course in the world... come join us. We had our best turnout yet for our league round yesterday. 12 players, including 4 new players. Way to go, everybody! Don't forget that for every new player you bring to league, you get 1 bonus league point. At the end of the season, points leaders will receive prizes. For more information on league points (and the handicapping system, etc., see the "About this League" section on the main league page: http://bit.ly/lBaS3b.

Also, I've just posted the most recent score adjustments on the Talk page (http://bit.ly/kbN3YM). This is the number of strokes that will be subtracted from your score next week.
