About this league
Fee per round $3
Handicap league (your score is adjusted based on your skill level so that everyone has a chance to win).
Sign-up 10:45. Tee off 11:00.
Everyone is welcome: University members and non-University members, advanced players and beginners.
Come play any week, even if you don't start the first week. No need to commit. You only pay for each week you play.
Prizes will be given out to top adjusted scores each week. Other prizes (CTPs or Long Putts) will be given out from time to time.
Points will be awarded each week based on adjusted scores. Top points winners will receive prizes at the end of the league in August. Earn bonus points by bringing friends!
League Rules:
- No smoking, drinking, cursing, or rude behavior. This is a family friendly league.
- Play will follow standard PDGA rules.
Handicap system:
- Players receive a score adjustment after the first recorded round. Score adjustments carry over into successive leagues.
- Score adjustments are calculated by averaging the scores of your previous rounds (only the last 5 rounds). Then, 52 is subtracted from this average score, and the result is multiplied by 0.8. This number is then rounded to the nearest whole number to achieve the score adjustment. So, adjustment = 0.8 * ([avg score] - 52), rounded to nearest whole number. Each week, the player's adjusted score is determined by subtracting their score adjustment from their raw score.
- Score adjustments are calculated every week.
- After a player has recorded five rounds, his or her score adjustment may never increase (we don't incentivize bad play!).
Points system:
- Points are awarded based on adjusted scores each week.
- Each player gets one point for playing, plus one point for every player they beat. So the last place player earns one point. The second to last place player earns two, and so on.
- Each player's two lowest point weeks are dropped. This allows players to miss a couple weeks without falling behind in the points race.
- One bonus point is given for each new player you bring to the league.
