Ok. We're going to try it again, come Hell or highwater. I have seen two different forecasts for Thursday. One with a 55% chance of rain and the other with 20% chance. I can live with the average of the two.

So, to go over it again. Lost and Found Round to benefit North Star Reach is this Thursday, the 24th at Mary Beth Doyle. Tee off, roughly 5:30.

For the $20 entry fee you get a bag and two discs, just like the bigger tournaments. You will get something to drive with and something to putt with. These will be the only discs you can have on the course. Unless you purchase one of the extra drivers we have for $10. There is a one disc purchase limit. You can also purchase Mulligans for the low, low price of One Dollar with a 5 Mulligan limit.

Half of the TWIZBEE Ace Pool is also available at no additional charge. We are hoping that the winner, if any, will make a generous donation back to North Star Reach. Sorry, there will not be a throw-off for the ace pool if an ace is hit.

The winner will receive the 2023 TWIZBEE Lost and Found Round champion's bowl and bragging rights for a year. How can anybody top that?

A quick reminder to come out and celebrate the conclusion of our disc golf season. The Tournament of Champions is a party for our members and a chance to get together to enjoy all the fun we had. Leagues and members are the backbone of our club. They provide for much of the funding and resources to put on some of the area's best tournaments. We would love to have ALL of you come out and enjoy a party, on the club.

Steve and I would like to thank those that braved the heat on this past Thursday for helping to raise $710 for North Star Reach through the 2023 edition of The Lost and Found Round.

Joe Johnson walked away with the highly coveted Lost and Found Glass Bowl, but, I think he left his Dicken Elementary disc golf bag behind (I didn't know they had a team). I like it, laying the groundwork for next year. Cam and Will were also able to take home gift bags just chock full of lovely parting gifts courtesy of Steve Nolff.

But also thanks to all, including Brian, Cam, Joe the Younger and Joe the Elder, Will, Don, Jake (not the Snake), Shaun, John, Kyle, Ethan, Joe, Doug, Greg, Michelle, Mike and John for sweating their discs off for the kids at North Star Reach.

Our next event is the Tournament of Champions on September 9th. After the Champions play for the miniature Bastards Cup AND the CTP Extravaganza drawing, we hope you will all stick around for the random draw dubs. Did I mention there will be trophies?? Yeesss, we have trophies left over to hand out to the winning teams, the TOP 3. We also have a forgotten placque that will be awarded for some contest or other. With pending nasty weather and Mary Beth Doyle's poor water drainage, we have decided to postpone the world famous lost and found round, until next Thursday August 24th at 5:30 pm. It looks as if Lost and Found Round Eve is upon us once again. Tomorrow is the big day. Lost and Found Round, 2023 edition to benefit North Star Reach.

For those of you who are new to the Lost and Found Round, we basically have commandeered all the lost discs from A3, put them into bags of two and play a round with only those two discs. But there is more. As I mentioned, your $20 entry fee gets you something to drive with and something to putt with. These would be the only two discs allowed on the course.

But, there is more. We have a box of additional drivers for sale for $10 each. You can purchase as many as you would like, but can only take the ONE additional driver on the course. Since we are playing at Mary Beth Doyle, I don't think you would need more than 2 or 3 discs anyway.

We will also have Mulligans again this year. A buck apiece with a 5 Mulligan limit.

For those Paypallers and Venmoers in the crowd, when you pay, note that this is for the Lost and Found Round. We don't want the North Star Reach money to get lost in A3 club funds.

As an added bonus, half of the TWIZBEE ace pool is in play, hopefully with the understanding that the winner or winners would make a generous donation to North Star Reach. The pool is currently at $455, but we will round up to $230 in the Lost and Found ace pool.

Thursday is rapidly approaching again. Hudson Mills, Original course, short tees.

It is also National Mary and National Dean Day(s). If you are or know a Mary or a Dean, you can dip into the TWIZBEE Big Bag 'O Stuff. I'll even go one better. If you know a Dean, by title, you can also dip into the TWIZBEE BBOS.

It is also Herbert Hoover Day and S'mores Day. We are going to combine the two. I have 3 questions regarding Herbert Hoover. The first person to answer at least 2 of the 3 correctly has a chance to win a S'mores package, minus the stabby sticks and fire. Safety first.

That's it. Just a reminder the 17th is the Lost and Found Round. To make things a little more interesting this year, we will put half the ace pool up for grabs as well. But of course, it is assumed that if an ace is hit, a GENEROUS portion of the pool will be donated that night to North Star Reach. Right now, the pot stands at $405.00. As in the past, the funds raised go to North Star Reach.

As in the past, the cost is $20 for a bag of two random discs which will be the ONLY two discs you can use during the round. Did I say ONLY two discs you can use? oh contrair. Like last year, you can purchase an extra disc from the lost and found archives of A3 Disc to also use during the round for a mere $10 bill. So, you could be using 3 discs, it is totally up to you. Did I mention the money is going to North Star Reach.

But, wait!! There's more!?! Mulligans are making a return! $1.00 apiece with a 5 Mulligan limit.

The date will be August 17. Now, per our schedule, we are to play Bandemer. But let me offer up an alternative. Because of the current and past condition of that course, I propose we change it to Mary Beth Doyle. MBD seems to have been maintained a lot better this year as compared to its cousin on the north side of town. If anybody has any objections, please let me know.

And as always, I could use a few paper bags. I'll start bagging tomorrow, so I'll let you know just how many I may need.

A couple of updates.
I stopped by Bandemer the other day. It appears to have been mowed since we were there last. But, some of the fairways may be a bit dicey. Therefore, I pronounce this course suitable for play. I wouldn't try a roller though.

Thursday is also Aunts and Uncles Day. If you are an aunt, uncle or both you will be able to draw from the TWIZBEE Big Bay O' Stuff.

In the event of a tie for TWIZmania, the tiebreaker will be CTP from the Blue tee on hole one.

If I think of anything else, well, I'll probably just keep it to myself. Thanks.

Match Play. Essentially, A Race to 5. Please consult the rule book for the details as to how this will happen. In my book, it is on page 17 under Match Play. A player wins the hole by scoring better on the hole than their opponent. The winner is the player who is up by more holes than holes remaining. At this point, make your way back to tournament central to await your next opponent.

This is single elimination. Again, because of time.

This format will continue until a winner has been crowned, or, belted in this case. There are prizes for the top 3 finishers.

For those of you who are not participating in the TWIZmania event, you have a choice to make. You can either follow the play as part of the gallery, with no spectator fees. Or, if you don't want to cheer on the other players, you can get a card together and play two rounds from the Red tees.

Cost.
Since it is a CTP Extravaganza night, there is the $5 cost for those choosing to participate. And the ace pool, we have to keep building that. For the extravaganza CTP, it will only be in play for the first round only for both TWIZmainiers and other players. With possible multiple rounds for some, it wouldn't be fair to give more than one chance at the token.
Normal fees would apply to those who are not in TWIZmaina. But for the participants, the only mandatory fee is the ace pool. There will be no other CTPs on Thursday. Just the EXTRAVAGANZA.

The field of battle is Bandemer, Red Tees. Let us hope the course has been mowed. I'll try to swing by tomorrow and check it out.

Ok. A couple of things going on this week.

One is the CTP Extravaganza!! So, as Don would say, bring an extra $5.00

Two. The first ever TWIZmania!!! I found some wrestling figurines and a belt and felt inspired. If some of you will recall, at the mid season championship awards gala, I mentioned that the placings that day would translate to the seeding for TWIZmania. So, before I get into the details in the next post, here are the pairings and the cards. There will be two teams on cards of four.

First card
Cam Stinson vs. John Wilson
Jesse Mullins vs. Mike Pilon

Second card
Ben Demory vs. Don Bush
Floyd Hampp vs. Tony Papciak

Third card
Steve Nolff vs. Will Hartz
Ethan Dellamaestra vs. Joe Johnson

I kept it to the top 12 for the sake of time.
If any of these players fail to show for their appointed round, the TD, me, at his discretion and whim will sub in any player for the missing player from the pool of other unseeded players present.

Thursday is also International Rock Day. There will be a free to all CTP on hole 1.

It is also the anniversary of a very momentous event in baseball history.

And, from what I understand, besides the Mary Beth Doyle TWIZBEE Flyovers, the Northern Lights are supposed to visible later in the evening. As if the flyovers weren't enough, right?

AND, it is National Sam and Paul Day. Players named either Sam or Paul will have the opportunity to select one item from the TWIZBEE BIG Bag O' Stuff. Just one item please and try not to root around in the bag too much. Some of the items could be kinda fragile and alive.

I wanted to be the first to tell you. Two big events tonight.

Congratulations to Joe Johnson for claiming the token for the A3 CTP EXTRAVAGANZA!! Well done, Sir.

And, our very own Floyd Hamp hit the ace from the Red Tee at Bandemer to put a sizable dent in the ace pool. He asked me not to disclose the amount, for tax purposes.

Congratulations to both Joe and Floyd for staying focused and bringing home the prize.

This week looks like it will be another wet week at Bandemer. But we will all be keeping an eye on the weather. As of now, it looks like a 45% chance of rain at 5 p.m. But, things change.

It is also another installment of the A3 CTP Extravaganza!! We will be playing Whites and Reds. The CTP Extravaganza Token will be in play for the WHITE TEES ONLY!! I haven't quite decided what hole will be the Token hole. I'll make a decision prior to play.

There is nothing special planned for this week. I want all of you to focus your best efforts on the Token chase and cashing in on the $900 Plus Ace Pool. While the Token is in play for just the White tees, the Ace Pool money is in play for BOTH the White and Red Tees. Plenty of chances.

We will be presenting the trophies for the TWIZBEE Mid-Season Championship. Simply, because we are a simple league, where you are in the standings will determine the trophy you receive. Maybe.

The awards are based on last weeks standings. So, if you want to ruin your surprise, you can look at the Scene and see where you are.

Tomorrow is also Fishermans Day. I don't make this stuff up. There will be a THIRD CTP, free to all, to honor this occasion. It has been a while and I can't really remember if there is a true water hole at Rolling Hills. Maybe 15 (?), the downhill shot with the retention pond to the right. Maybe that will be the CTP for the Fishermans Day CTP.

Also, this coming week was supposed to be the Mid-Season Championship awards presentation. Slight problem. I will be out of town. I have the trophies and Steve does not. So, we will have the presentation at Rolling Hills the week of the 29th.

Wow. Memorial Weekend already. Time needs to slooow doown. Please.

Tomorrow we are back at Bandemer playing two rounds from the white tees. It is also two very special days in my life as I hope they are special to you as well. First of all, it is National Bath Bomb Day. And I tell ya, who couldn't use a relaxing hot bath right about now. Ah, Calgon. Take me away. We have a box of 12 bath bombs to give away, although I don't know exactly how as of yet, but, I am open to suggestions.

And, what else does one need for Memorial Weekend?? How about a sand resistant beach towel? It does pay to shop the going out of business sales. Thank you Bed, Bath and Beyond. We have 10 of these wonderful things for the first 10 to show up at Bandy tomorrow. And, we also have 4 not as cool towels for the next 4 signer uppers. What better way to celebrate National Towel Day than to give away these bad boys, am I right??

Scores are up for MBD. I apologize for the late entry...been a pretty tough week. The City of Ann Arbor has received an official complaint from one Mary Beth Doyle. Apparently the lady felt as if TWIZBEE handled her roughly and she is now in fear of the league. We shall revisit in a few weeks and see if we can show her how much teeth TWIZBEE really has. Tomorrow we will be at Hudson Mills, playing the Original course.

Ahh, the month of May. The weather has finally, kinda, made up it's mind to be kind to us all. The trees have all pretty much leafed out, the grass has been cut a couple of times and the Vidalia onions are now starting to appear in grocery stores. Which is good because May IS National Sweet Vidalia Onion Month. Oh, yes it is. And, the first 15 to register tomorrow will receive a nice, sweet Vidalia onion. Sooo, tasty you'd be tempted to eat it like an apple. Hey, that sounds like a custom made TWIZBEE contest. But, not this year. There will be a special random drawing after the round for a one-of-a-kind Vidalia T-Shirt. Well at least around here it's one of a kind. Steve and I will draw the winner's name while we relax post round. Need not be present to win.

Week one is now in the books. Kinda. As Steve mentioned, it was good to see some old faces and new last week at Bandemer. I hope the trend continues. I think we had a little south of 73 people show up for the first night. Impressive.

I do have some comic books left, but I have a master plan to get rid of some, if not all of them in a couple of weeks. If the plan does not work out, I'll let you all know and make them available again.

This week we are at MBD. Shorts. Sorry Cam. It is also National Hostess Cupcake Day.

Next week is TWIZBEES first go with the CTP Extravaganza. Massive prize list. Wonderful event. And who wouldn't want to design their own personal run of discs. Just remember, TWIZBEE is always looking for the next CTP disc. Yours could be it.
