One change I wanted to make was to not do a 100% payout for an ace. It is nice for the acer but the league suffers as a result when there is nothing left in the kitty.. 50% seems to be the standard around here but why not do a 75% ace payout? Seems like a nice compromise between the two extremes. Nice payout and still keeps something in the pot..

I can probably switch work schedule to make it Thu in the fall and run when needed, but until then might as well get it started on Wednesdays. I am thinking next Wednesday will be the first one, starting at 8pm. We can just follow same format as last year's, 5$+2$.

Talk to Chilly and Ben Cicc, those guys are still regulars for the Thursday evening crowd so they would surely appreciate this being Wednesday evening glow so there is no conflict. I'm thinking mid October for the official move. I say official because I would like to be able to commit to being there most weeks and also run a points competition. Last year we got state berths so we could do the same thing this year.. I probably can't make too many glow rounds until we switch to Thursdays though, so Ben Calhoun - go for it. And thanks for rolling in the other ace pool that is really awesome.

What does everyone say about starting Glow league back up the week after States? I can run it on Wednesday night for the 5-6 weeks before it moves to Thursday, there's no reason to wait! I have 156$ of leftover Lakeshore glow ace pool to roll into the league. If I think I can get a draw I will start it up either next Wednesday or the week after, then when it 'begins' in November, it can just switch over, already established and up and running!

Layout TBD. It'll be either just 18 Chuck D, Whites or 18 Chuck D. Whites + the 8 Picnic South-Side loop.
That's right.. Either 18 Chuck D/Whites or 18 Chuck D/Whites + South-Side Picnic 8-Hole Loop.

I'm betting we could swing the 26 hole loop a few times, the sun doesn't go down till 9 for awhile, at least.

Well, I like the idea of having it be glow when time permits. If I'm going to keep running this league I won't be able to do 9pm start True Glow rounds. I don't like feeling like a zombie at work.

I'm going to re-propose:
Move this league to Indy on Thursdays starting in April/March - When the sunset starts changing seriously. Start around 6/6:30pm. That means we'd spread the word and start next Thursday.

And then in the fall head on back to bandy, as the sunset transits back to fall/winter.

Bandy's a hot mess with all the casuals now anyways.

Either way I'm moving it to Thursdays. Perhaps in the fall we'll move it back to wends.

inre: the start time. Well, glow in the summertime obviously has to be late at night. That may also hurt your attendance, but if you really want to play at night then that's what you have to do. I know I personally could not do glow if it started at 8:00 or 8:30, that's just too late for me.

I've looked at it like this: I play glow out of necessity. I would prefer to play in the daytime, but during the winter months to play during the week (for us 9 to 5ers) it has to be after dark.

This league can be whatever you make it. During the summer it could be a regular daytime league that starts at 6:30 and gets a decent attendance. Hell, you could even move it to Indy Lake for Thursday evenings. Then shift back to Bandy and glow it up when the days get shorter. Or you could keep pushing the start time back and play true nighttime golf. It's totally up to the players and the league coordinators involved.

That said, my vote is to move it to Thursdays, start at 6:30 at Indy Lake and be a regular doubles league for a few months. :)

@ben - if you want to run glow on wends. or whenever, that's fine - but it won't be affiliated with this league. (until we transition back anyways)
