Glow Tonight!
Great looking forecast tonight, no snow on the ground, excellent conditions for night golf in Ann Arbor. We will play White-Red tonight, since we might get a big turnout, and that is definitely the most user friendly of layouts.

About this league
Fee per round $5
Washtenaw County Glow returns for Winter 2011-2012. We will be at Bandemer Park on THURSDAYS unless announced otherwise. 7:00pm start, please try to show up early to get warmed up. This league is for the diehards, we play regardless of conditions: rain, snow, ice, sub-zero temps, etc.
First official night is October 13th.
League finale tournament will be on March 22nd.
Flat LED lights will be for sale before each league round. $2 each or 3 for $5.
NOTE: As of January 19th I am currently out of stock of lights.
We play random draw - best shot - doubles.
Fee structure: $5 minimum in, 100% going to payout. $2 ace pool with 75% (was 100%) payout on an ace. Some weeks will have an optional CTP fee for $1 - $3.
Point system: 1 (one) point per person you best + 2 points participation. Aces worth 30.
If we have an odd number of people then we will flip off for "Santa Cruz" (similar to Cali).
--Santa Cruz(CHANGES HERE, PLEASE READ)- Well, looking at last years stats, the Cali player was basically donating at 1 for 14 in cashing attempts. Usually, people didn't want to get "stuck" with it. SO, to make things more enticing this year, please read the updated rules below:
-Santa Cruz pays an extra $5 to play. No exceptions.
-Santa Cruz gets TWO extra throws per hole (instead of just one like last year). You do not have to use your extra throws.
-Santa Cruz plays for the full payout.
-Two throws per lie maximum. (ie. you cannot use both of your extra shots on your drive, or putt)
-Santa Cruz ace DOES count for the ace pool.
-Santa Cruz player must throw extra shot right away after first shot.
We will do awards for end of season point totals. The last two years we have awarded MDGO State Finals berths so I expect to do that again this year.
Special "Glow" rules:
-Lighting of the basket is permitted (as long as you don't hold up play). Lighting of the fairway (trees, etc) from the tee is not permitted.
-Glow tape, LED lights taped on and glow plastic - all permitted. When snow is on the ground please do not try and play with anything other than LEDs, you WILL lose discs and you WILL delay the pace of the game. LED lights will be on sale prior to the league round.
-Try to be respectful to the other players, golf etiquette is expected.
Layouts
Each week we will play 18 holes unless explicitly announced otherwise.
Layout will cycle between these 18 hole tracks:
1. Blue-White
2. Blue-Red
3. White-Red
**HOLE 8 WILL PLAY FROM RED TEES REGARDLESS OF LAYOUT**
-All AM Women play one tee down. In other words, if the layout is blue-white then an amateur woman player will throw white-red (with an option to throw from the regular layout pad if desired).
Tie Breakers
After the round is over and there are any ties for cashing spots, the tiebreaker will be a CTP to hole 1 from the blue tee. Of course if the teams agree to split the cash then there needs to be no tie breaker. If there is a tie for last cash then the teams are required to throw the tie breaker.
Random Draw
Teams will be formed by random draw poker chip assignment method, or a disc flip if there are no chips available that night. The poker chip method also includes one "U-pick" where the lucky player gets to pick any one player to be his partner. He can also pick himself if there is an odd number of players for a Santa Cruz.
