ALL FRIENDS AND FROLFERS...WHO LIKES FREE TOURNAMENT ENTRY? the month of August is the promotion for free Tournament play if you get a sponsor. It's a permanent sponsor on a tee pad. Each sign sees 10-12 tournaments each year, with 25-75 people in the past 12 tournaments. Campers through out the summer and winter are around 3500+ not including parents of the campers or guest staff. We hold a retreat 20 weekends of the year through our guest services, of groups 30-100 guests. Beyond that, we open our course to the public through the year if they set up tee times and have a camp or disc golf member accompanying them. In all, its about 5,800 people per year. On our website, we are finishing up our disc golf page, as well as it is advertised on many of our tournaments even though they were only a one time sponsor. Sponsors don't have to do any upkeep on the holes as we have volunteers through the year to help. The new Toledo DGC install was totally vandalized recently and needs repair work to redo damage and finish install. A small group of folks are working hard on this project over there and have new supplies ready to start over. I am looking at going over Sunday the 27th this month to assist with this project. Whats going on?:

- Food, BEER, Live Music…DISC GOLF!!


- The Bite and Brew has been around for a while setting up shop at the Riverfront every summer with the best food venues, beer venues and live entertainment. This year is a little bit different:


For the first time ever, the Bite will have DISC GOLF!!


- Locals Route Disc Golf will have a booth set up promoting the great game of DISC GOLF as well as my new business!!! :) Come check out the great DG merch Ive got for sale too…SWEET stuff for sure!!


- Chances to win awesome prizes and bang chains while doin it :) Cant beat that!


- There will be putting lessons for those who are new to the game or just don’t know how to putt !! :)

All are welcome to come hang out and bang putts and promote/support our great game of DISC GOLF!! (See flyer for putting lesson times)


- There will be a long putt challenge to win prizes and get entered to win a LOCALS ROUTE GRAND PRIZE. (To Be Determined - EPIC)

ATTENTION EVERYONE!! – I have officially opened up my own business and clothing line called “LOCALS ROUTE DISC GOLF” I will be selling anything from custom shirts to hats to Beer Mugs, and everything in between, plus much, much more. (I have a lot of fun ideas-more to come) I am very excited to get this going and be able to supply all of your disc golf needs!!! And even things you didn’t think you need but will want! Merchandise coming very soon!!!

Woodmansee Course Update

I was able to attend Salem Parks Board meeting last night and voiced my opinion on the course maintenance and was received well I believe. Today I received word from Parks Operation that I will be hearing from John Kleeman next week to arrange a walk thru of the course to discuss my issues and what can we do together to get and keep course in best possible playing condition into the future. I am sorry about the tall grass and other problems at this time but please bear with me and I will be looking for support and assistance as time goes on and agreements are made.
I do not plan on backing down or being told someone else is going to handle it like happened couple years ago. Past is past and future hopefully looking good for this fine course.

Catch net behind basket for those fast putts. Also driving net to help the arm up for those big drives. Give a holler if want to visit and we will get time worked out. Distance lines 10' interval with 10 meter arc marked for putt jumping. Evenings are nice now and lights if needed.

NEW TOURNAMENT VENUE We have just booked a tournament for this summer at the Auburn Golf course in Salem! Temporary Course for the day. First 35 to sign up will receive a disc in their players pack. Limited to 45 people. More info to follow. There will be one motorized Golf Cart for rent to the highest bidder (starting at $25). This will be a Saturday tournament and it will be catered. It may get sanctioned if I can find someone with a PDGA directors license.

This will be 4 divisions, Intermediate, Advanced, Masters, Open. There will be cash payout in all 4 divisions. As always there will multiple cash CTPS as well as other CTPS. Acepot and CTP is included in buy in. There is going to be ALOT of OB'S and ALOT of FUN! This is just a for fun way to be in the know about Private Courses that you normally wouldn't play! As Program Diector at Canyonview Camp, my goal is to help the community by sharing our resources and allow positive growth in the areas of disc golf, paintball, and other Adventure ministries. Canyonview is the main course for info, as we are opening our arms to having any club to run tournaments, League nights/during lunch time, and specific times to play the course.
