It's been a great summer so far and our Wednesday Hudson Mills League now has one of the largest ACE POOLS in the state of Michigan!!

To celebrate, and for this week only, A3Disc will be matching all ACE POOL entries ($$$ for $$$) on Wednesday, July 3rd. All league rules still apply, so refer to the League Page for details.

2016 will be the 27th year of No Foolin'

A3 has 4 event planned in this points series, winner of the points series will receive a free entrance into the 2016 No Foolin' Event. The will be 1 free entrance award, overall for the whole event.

In the event of a points tie, players will play holes in a sudden death at the final event, must be in attendance to compete.
overall points winner of each division will be given the opportunity to reg early for the event at a discount.

To help address the sandbagging issues at the Michigan State Championships, a motion was made and the Motion was passed:
a. For the Am2/Am3 (including the women) divisions in Featured Events, if there is a player that takes 1st or 2nd place and that player has never had a PDGA membership the Featured Event will deduct from that player’s payouts $35 to cover the cost of buying them a PDGA membership.
b. The remaining $10 was initially paid by the player at entry.
c. The last missing $5 is because the MDGO is an Affiliate Club.
d. Non-current PDGA members do not apply.
e. The MDGO will reimburse $17 to the FE to help cover any loss.
f. It is heavily stressed that this needs to be advertised so the player base is aware of this prior to the event.

This was passed to address the issue of players not having player ratings. Even if they are not current, the TD does get a file from the PDGA that includes the player's rating.

We got our GT Buzzz in Thursday they are some slick disc there like the crystals earlier this year but in Z plastic. Discraft limited there sale to MDGO clubs, so there are exclusive to Michigan and exclusive to MDGO clubs. There $20 each we got less than 80 to sell so limited number available.

We're excited to present on October 26, 2013 will be one round Glo and part day tournament each 18 holes per round on the original course at Hudson Mills this is an awesome event. It's a awesome event to get involved with that we've got some beautiful super color with a matching mini for the first 20 players paid we currently have 11 left.

Don't miss out on this event this glow tournament is a really special event were excited to bring back this year this time was supercolors that are amazing art something not done for Mystic Mills in over 10 years.

With a3s new payout policy of 125% pay at all event that makes payouts $23 per player being used towards payout money for am players so the more the come out the more payout there is to win that's true for Pro and Am divisions bring your glow tape flashlights pads to take your desk and glow plastic we also have the Meld(think Stanley cup for Discgolf) its just been a long-standing tradition with A3disc that we want to bring back again this year.

To get your name on it the only requirement is to win the glo round only the glo round while using only glo plastic no other tape (cheating in the past for using tape on a glo disc has lead to disqualification of meld award) or anything else attached to your disc, no pods, no bobber lights nothing.

Will have a two dollar Ace Pool some CTP's that were donated by Gateway disc cool two pack of disc side games and CTP will be free for playing in the event lots to win lots of money on the table the more players out there the more money on the table come out have some fun make this a Halloween bash!

By now most of you have seen the art on Mystics Super Color, Well we decided to get a limited run of super color minis as well.

So to the first 20 people who sign up and PAY your reg on mystic mills, will get a super color mini to match there super color disc.

The payout for this event will be huge for this event outside of every am getting a player pack we are paying out 125%. So please join us Saturday the 26th at Hudson mills. Payouts will be based on $23 per player. Meaning a division of just 10 players is $230 in prizes.

Join us for 2 rounds on Hudson original course 1 day round 1 glow round. We have some fun things planned for the day free CTPs, speed putt in between rounds and if high enough attendance a jumbo. We also plan on best costume.

Starting Sept 14th 2013 Saturday at 4:00pm

The league will be managed by George Roberts, Matt Roberts and John Reifschneider.



Accepting Cashless Pre-reg Field will be limited to 72 players.



Player Pack for League Signup Includes:

An Amazing Trophy for first place.



Random Doubles, Forced Cali, Shotgun Start, Optional Ace Pool, Optional 50/50 CTP, and Point System Doubles.



Random Doubles - Random Draw Doubles, meaning each player will be setup with a random partner each week a that partner may be of any skill level.



Forced Cali - If you are playing Cali (California) you will be allowed to take an optional extra TEE shot on every hole, if a Cali player decided to take the extra shot they will be FORCED to use there extra shot and abandon there first tee shot. Cali will only be offered to the odd man out if attendance is not available to make a full 2 person team.



Shotgun Start - Each player will meet up at 4:00pm to be drawn for there random partner, following there team assignment they may find a group to select to go to their assigned hole. Once you have a 4 player group come up and meet us to get a scorecard and receive your start hole assignment.



Optional Ace Pool $2 - Players who have bought in to the Ace Pool that week, during there schedule league round hit an ace (hole in one) on any hole they will be paid the 100% payout of the current collected ace pool. If no aces are made in that week the ace pool is carried to the follow weeks league. If multiple players hit an ace then they will be paid out 100% and given the option to split the ace pool or shot off for as the players see fit.



Optional 50/50 CTP $1 - Each week player will have the option to buy into a 50/50 closest to the pin pool. 50% collected will be payed to the player who shoots closest or aces the CTP hole while 50% will be donated to A3 course development fund.



Point System Double - A3 will be using a new style of points system dubbed PSD, thanks to the assistance of Scott Sprow for all the help to develop our new scoring system.



Each week players will receive points based on the following rules:



(1) point for attendance



(2) points for each team the players team beats in strokes that week



(5) points for a single player who aces

Sunday July 28th the opening of the Hamburg Twp. course (The course is on discgolfscene already. on Merrill road south of M36 in there sports complex. very unique course in the hilly terrain.
Also we are in need of the loan or gift of new or used discs for the clinics planned for all the new/potential disc golfers we expect at the mark ellis clinic which starts at 130PM using one of the adjacent soccer fields.
Free side games, free disc golf be one of the first to check out this new gem of a course.

So for those of you who may not be aware or don't know the details. A3 has been running a winter series of tournaments.
8 events at 8 different courses. event 5 at willow was yesterday. Event 6 is at cass on the 27th, Event 7 is at Kensington and the final event at Hudson mills.
The Corrigan Propane Winter Warmer Series has 8 events with a final 9 for the top 4 players in every division. CTP's at every tournament. We have been paying 130% to AM's and adding some cash for the PRO's as well. Each event is $25, the AM’s get a player pack, optional $1 ace pool which if no aces are hit carries to the next event and there have not been any aces so far. You must buy into the series to get into the finals and you must play in a minimum of 3 events to qualify for the finals. Buy in is 2 new or slightly used discs Z or Champion plastic or better, no grooves; discs are accepted at the TD’s discretion, discs cannot be written on, or $18 and we will put 2 discs in for you.
The most important thing to be aware of is that the finals at Hudson mills the players who make the final 9 will share in $600 in cash or merchandise which came from the sponsors money, corrigan propane. the AM1, AM2, PRO, Am Master divisions are very lightly attended and leave open the possibilitys that a person could play in the final 3 events and still get into the final 9. AM3 and AM4 are both busy with 6 or so players in the series.
the cash or merch will be divided by number of players in the series in each division. You must attend the finals to get a share of the payouts points only help you get a spot in the finals.
7 Pro’s with the maximum pts of 12
6 AM1’s with the maximum pts of 11
1 AM2 with pts of 12
10 AM3’s with the maximum pts of 48
6 AM4’s with the maximum pts of 35.5
1 AM Master with 4 pts

Somebody with a pickup truck to drive back onto the course and haul smaller limbs out to parking lot for removal.
Rakes to clean the fairways.
Weedwhips to clear the fairways
Handclippers, tree loppers, pole saws to work on smaller limbs and higher limbs.
We have been approved to use battery operated sawzalls. And weed whips.
We will be spending our time working on cleaning the fairways of clutter.
1,2,3 are done or almost done we will be going to 5,7,9 next.

We really need help to make this course open on schedule, ground workers are needed please respond to me if you can or have an interest.
the front 9 fairways are cut via manual labor and brush hogging so far. The heavy underbrush needs to be cleared away from the fairways to make the horrible rough not jail on every hole.
the bank 15 is planned but no work will start over there until the front 9 is at fully playable level. this will be a 30 hole course with 6 short handicap accessible holes before the 24 hole hole part of the course, this will probably just require brush hogging by the park.
We need people with tree loppers, hand clippers, hand saws, battery operated sawzalls have been approved as well. NO CHAINSAWS.
the course designers mark kruse and eirik kauserud are doing great work and adjusting the holes as clearing is accomplised.

This Wednesday is summer solstice the 20th of June.

I also forgot to mention the DOUBLE POINTS IN THE DGLA MICPS since this is also your league round. Anybody not just current A3disc league members can receive the double points at this event. Actual current league member or not are allowed to participate in this event and get the league double MICPS points.
Ace pool

$10 entry fee for all divisions.
All divisions will be offered no matter how many are in it.

Bring your water for league night as it is going to be hot Hot HOt HOT H O T

There will be no food this year as ordering food for an unknown number of players has become a problem.
You must play in no less then a 3 some and no more then a 5 some.

Registration should open at 4PM, closes at 550PM must complete play by 8PM payouts to begin by 820PM

A3disc will be working with the State of Michigan to bring yet another course into our area.

Brighton Recreation Area! we have been given 200 acres a lot of which is in lakes but more then enough for a 24 hole course.



The first work day will be March 10, 2012 weather permitting. if you are willing to help with ground clearing on that date please respond to William Gilbert with your name and phone number please. The reason for requesting your phone number is in case the first work day is postponed.

We have been approved at the moment to use hand tools and they will be bringing the brush hog and/or bulldozer for the heavy clearing.

We will probably be approved to use power tools but not as of this moment.



We are really looking for a really good size crew to help make a good impression at the park.



The park is looking for at least 9 holes to be playable by June 1st but if we can get enough workers we will get all 24 + holes ready to play by June 1st. There will actually be 30 holes in total plus a practice basket as well. They have to supply a certain % of holes to be handicap accessable so they are planning 6 extra short holes for that purpose.

A3DISC will be holding these six tournaments as fundraisers to add cash to the purse of the 2010 Discraft Great Lakes Open. Each event will cost $20 to enter, $5 of which will be added to the DGLO's purse. Additionally, for a one time, optional $10 fee, players will be entered into the DGLO Championship Series. Players will accumulate points at each event they play; each player's four best point totals will be used in order to determine overall series standings. The four players with the most cumulative points in each division after the final event at Lakeshore will play 9 safari holes. The winners will be crowned 2010 Ann Arbor Area Disc Golf Champions! We will be offering a few unique changes to the payout format in this series. Advanced players will be playing for cash; however, any player with a rating over 955 must play Pro. All other amateur divisions will be offered two payout options. Players who cash at each event can either choose plastic from a selection offered by A3 or may opt to receive a gift certificate of equivalent value to The Throw Shop at Lakeshore instead. Certificates can be used at any time or may be saved up until the finals at Lakeshore in July and used to purchase something really cool from The Throw Shop then. Thank you to everyone for coming out and helping us to make the 2010 Great Lakes Open an event to remember!
