Thanks to everyone who came to play. It was an amazing day and I appreciate all your feedback on the course. I will talk to Connor and see where the course needs to go from here. I hope you all plan on attending next year, although it will definitely be held earlier in the year.

Rick you did it! What a great time with great people and phenomenal weather.
This place will become a destination course. The owner and property manager are all in.
What a great thing for Watkins Glen community!
Hope to play more tournaments there. Very much worth the 2hr drive for me.
Thanks again.

Work is frantically underway to finish up the course. All added OB is complete. Major change is hole 8 tee moved a few feet to the left and created a straight tunnel shot at the basket.

Great!

Hey Dan,
Trip and I talked and if Hank is still having back issues or such we will move to open, just have one pro division. Keep up the good work. Wish I was off today to trick out a course too...it's gonna be nice out.

Ok, thanks for letting me know. I spoke with Hank yesterday and he plans to play. Will your hot streak continue from last weekend? ..that second round was straight fire. Thanks for the support.

Daniel Ragland   November 6, 2020 at 9:53pm

Mike. Trip is out. Do you want to go to MPO? Or stay and MP50 with Hank?

George Meindl    November 5, 2020 at 2:44pm

I would just like to say thank you to Daniel Ragland for being extremely patient and attentive in answering everyone's questions and organizing the event; thank you for all that you have done to provide us with the opportunity to play!

Thanks George. New course, first time working through all these details.

Sherry Herzog    November 4, 2020 at 7:25pm

was wondering about some of the OBs; it appears that there is OB that surrounds the tee of 2 and 11. If that is correct we will be throwing from an OB area?

FYI, played today and they were finishing a fence around the carnival playland area impacting right side of#3 and left side of#11. I also have a question about the OB, if I am playing whole one and Skip off of the t-pad for hole two where do I take my drop?

Daniel Ragland   November 6, 2020 at 1:26am

I’m taking a vacation day tomorrow and going to mark out all the OB areas and discuss the course conditions with the generals manager. I will have everything ironed out tomorrow and post a new information sheet as soon as I can.

Tim Bower   November 6, 2020 at 4:50pm

That is what I was thinking too. I would suggest to simply make the area that contains the t-box for number two to be OB when throwing from any hole except for number two. Different holes can have different obs even if it is the same feature, for instance the gravel road that is OB for hole number t ... more

I was not clear in the player meeting, but pros will receive CASH, not winery gift cards.

Do you call every Monday to see if NY state allows more people?

Been trying to practice this course. Any decisions on the OB areas for the tournament? Dirt roads, tall gr****s, etc?

I just sent out an email with a word doc that explains the OBs among other things. The whole grassy area around 1's basket, 2's tee and 10's tee will be OB. This will also come into play on hole 8.

[member not found]   October 19, 2020 at 2:44pm

8 is bear of a hole off the tee. Then 2 grassy area is OB if you make it out of the woods. Ouch!

Daniel Ragland   October 19, 2020 at 4:55pm

8 is tough, agreed.

Daniel Ragland    October 15, 2020 at 1:12am

I was able to add 1 pro spot for a total of 45 players. The field is now 2/3 amateur and 1/3 pro. All first round cards will be 3 players.

Played the course yesterday. What a treat! Colors were near peak. Course has seen a lot of recent work and is really coming along. Front nine and back nine have a Jekyll and Hyde thing going on. Front nine, I was like, "Wow, lotta birdies out here." Back number I was like, "Wow, lotta bogies out here!" Tournament is going to be a lot of fun. So hoping the player limit can be expanded before then. Would be a shame for the rest of the wait listers and others to miss such a beautiful place and what surely will be a delightful event.

I agree that it’s a shame for anyone to miss out. As you say, it’s a fun track with 2 very different nines. I’m glad you got in off the waitlist.

Frank Carbone   October 12, 2020 at 12:31am

Me too! Thanks for all you're doing to make this event happen.

Daniel Ragland    September 28, 2020 at 11:04am

Just a reminder that the event is on a winery. No outside alcohol. The low player cap is due to regulation from state liquor board. The restrictions placed on liquor establishments are applying here. State regulations, I have no discretion.
