For those of you coming up to Barrie for the Sandy Hollow Open, why not stick around for a glow round the night of Saturday Aug 23rd. If you are not playing, why not make a trek into Sandy Hollow to play a nicely manicured course. We will do all 20 holes, singles format. We are going to be doing a shotgun start starting at 9pm, or slightly after based on darkness. If there is enough people in attendance/interest, we can run two divisions. 1 Division of Shorts and 1 Division of Longs. You choose which division you want to enter. $5 entry with all money going back to payouts.

Hope to see a huge turnout!!

Hi Victoria,

I appreciate your flexibility and willingness to play with the FA40 card to help balance things out. While that could work on Saturday, it would create an issue on Sunday. Pairings for the second round are based on Saturday’s scores, so moving you to FA2 would likely result in another FA2 player being placed on an FA40 card. Since FA40 and FA2 play in different time slots, this would be unfair to that player and would also cause complications with our staggered payouts and awards schedule on Sunday.

For now, I’ll need to keep you in the FA40 division unless we have a withdrawal in FA2 or enough players join the FA2 waitlist to create a second FA2 card. I appreciate your understanding, and I’m sorry we can’t make the change at this time.

Looks like you got your wish, you have been promoted from the waitlist to the FA2 division :) Now I just gotta hope we get another registrant or two in the FA40 division as we now only have 2 players, and I already have 3 trophies. Also would love to not have to mix divisions for cards if possible.

I have the tee-times scheduled based on tee-assignments, getting all divisions playing shorts both rounds out first, and the age protected division are quick through the course and don't cause any backups early in the day, which has worked really well in the past. Additionally, the feedback I have had in the past years of running the events, is the MA60/70 and FA60/70 divisions have always preferred to have an early start to beat the summer heat, and get their rounds/event wrapped up in the morning.
