The whole tourney will play to the galvanized baskets. Mostly from the long tees (there are a few holes that play from the short tee). All female divisions and MA60 will be playing from shorter tees on many of the holes, but will still finish on the galvanized baskets. The divisions we have are pretty well set. We will do some shuffling to allow people in from the waitlist, but we are limited to the number of players we can have in each group which informs the number of and which divisions we can offer. Typically you don't see MP/AM 70+ unless the tournamet is specifically a Master's tournament.

Thank you so much for your viewpoint. It is always great to hear about what you would like to see in the Mesmerize. Would you rather play in one of the age protected divisions? MA3 and MA4 are very new ideas and the way they are explained seems like players very new to the idea of tourneys. With the limited players per pool (84) choices have to be made about which divisions to offer and then the process of filling takes on its own life. We who run events roll with the process and adapt to fill the event with the goal of creating the best experience for all who attend. I would love new players to play my event and love it. I would also love for a seasoned pro who has played over a hundred events to love the experience. The balance is what I strive to achieve.

Thanks Eric. I would not like to be in age protected. There is no minimum rating and usually a way to get into a tournament when other divisions are full. Multiple folks have told me they are in age protected because no space in ratings based divisions. Something to consider in future tournaments. I know, I can always organize my own :) I looked at the 2022-current registrations for the Mesmerize. Historically, 81% MA3 players had no choice but to play above their division. (Some went to MA2 and when full, MA1 or age protected)
Historically, 32% of MA1 players had a minimum rating for MA1
Historically, 18% of MA2 players had a minimum rating for MA2
Historically, 0% of FA2 had the minimum rating to play in the FA2 division
Historically, highest rated players dominated the divisions (based on reviewing the top 10 finishers). Some years, lower rated played did well in higher divisions and were subsequently elevated into a higher rating division. Most continued to stay in the higher rating or increase. A few did not. Stats indicate players elevated MA1 tended to stay MA1. MA2 players did as well but around 50% hovered between MA3 and MA2 rating.
