Sorry to be absent from comments, but here's the situation. Trying to get glasses donated, but I won't know for sure till they are here. State Park isn't allowing any events, as they expect a crowd (but we're okay to play, we just have to watch how we talk about it). I don't expect people to be watching the eclipse from the 85% wooded course, so there's no safety concern in that regard. We'll be playing reds/ short 18. If weather is good we may expand that to 18 + the six letter holes (A-F). Waiting to hear from MVP re what discs they have. I'll process the couple refunds this weekend.

I hope we see you back soon!

How is scoring being done?

Bill Vaughn   April 8 at 12:09am

We have paper cards, and UDisc can be used (24 hole layout- reds). But we are not in event mode, so you will have to bring me your physical card or forward your digital card to me or Shawn Jr personally, or share it to our Lost Island facebook page so we can get all the rounds recorded and payouts done

Kyle Renner   April 8 at 1:15am

Sounds good thank you!

Brian Riedel    April 7 at 10:12pm

I see a few folks asking to get into a group. I plan to tee off at 12:30, I don’t mind being done, or close-to-done by Eclipse Time. So meet me in the parking lot by Tee 1 and we can form a group if you wish. Black F 150.

I'ma try to be there around 1230!

Bill Vaughn   April 8 at 12:07am

we will have a HQ set up around there! Everyone should come there to check in and we will facilitate the grouping up!

Aaron Shaw    April 7 at 4:28pm

I’m playing in the REC division. Is there a group I can play with? And is there a time and place to check in and get that disc everyone is getting? When are we expected to be done by so we see what place people come in? Looks like a lot of people, including myself, are traveling a long way to get there so staying late might not be an option for some.

it is flex start, and we will group people together in cards of 3 of more anytime between 11am and 6pm really. But for ease of grouping up, and to be on the course during the eclipse, we are suggesting start times of 1:30, 2:00, and 2:30

Kyle Renner    April 7 at 10:24am

So are we supposed to find a group to play with? If so who needs 1? I'm playing REC

Shawn Randall Jr   April 7 at 12:07pm

If need a group we can find one one or you can throw with us lol

Also there is a group forming for 12:30

Charles Liedtke    April 4 at 4:08am

I’m coming from about an 1.5 hrs away, anybody that has room in a rec. group let me know when you want to tee off.

Nick Valerio   April 4 at 4:14pm

I’m also coming from about 2.5 hours away so I can be there whenever honestly

its a flex start, so whenever your group wants to go! But probably 130 or later if you want to be on the course for the eclipse

Id say show up and see if there are any player pack discs still available. It is one round flex start, so basically we are going to be hanging out all day and fitting a round of 2 in somewhere

Valiant Woodward    March 14 at 2:43am

Any update on details?

The totality is only 4.5 minutes long so I think your time is off.

Bill Vaughn   April 2 at 3:16pm

its one round flex start. but I am encouraging groups to launch at 130, 200, and 230 to be on the course during eclipse. Player pack disc is a special release Pitch from MVP/ Axiom. Will be one round of 24 reds/ original layout

Any guidelines for the divisions? Pdga rating equivalent?

Bill Vaughn   February 28 at 1:38pm

It's pretty casual, so gauging by the others ratings and who you want to play with is probably best way to go

Valiant Woodward    January 24 at 11:09pm

Any chance in some eclipse glasses for the player's pack before I order some online?

Bill Vaughn   February 28 at 1:37pm

I'm still working on more eclipse glasses. I have about a dozen so far. I'll try to have them for anyone that needs them

Jeffrey Jones    January 16 at 9:31pm

I do believe they make (solar filter glasses) if I remember right. It’s still not recommended to try watching it through your phone like some people say you can do.

Valiant Woodward   January 18 at 2:50am

Yea, the glasses work great. You can actually burn out the camera on your phone by using it depending on the camera.

Jeffrey Jones    January 16 at 9:24pm

it will not be pitch black like at night. The whole process is about four minutes long but it doesn’t stay covered that long.. if you’ve never seen an eclipse before, it’s pretty cool. You can’t actually stare at it while it’s happening anyway it can damage your eyes. But you can look at it briefly when it’s fully covered. You can make what’s called an eclipse box to view it. Would have to look that up online on how to make them. It’s been a long time since I did it.

Will play continue during the eclipse or will we pause for lack of light? I can bring some glow plastic if needed.

Valiant Woodward   January 13 at 1:58pm

It's 4 minutes. I don't think it's an issue.
