A few updates post event!

Unclaimed Trophies & Raffle prizes will be shipped to players. Pro Payout has been completed and if you have not received it, we have emailed you to clarify more details.

AM Gift Cards will process early this week and can be spend at MintDiscs.com, our Sprinkle Valley store or in person at select Mint Discs Events.

$560 was raised for Kerr County Flood victims via the raffle and will be donated this week on behalf of the event.

The receipt Raffle was won by Caroline Rowe in FA3. We will tally up the receipts and let you guys how much you spent in town as well. Thank you again for supporting this town and showing them the power of the disc golf community!

Huge shoutout to JD and Charlie for everything they do for this event as well. We are lucky to have two guys so committed to making this a special event for not just you, but also the city of Junction.

Lastly, we'd like to thank the following businesses for their support:

Due to high water in the area the County course has been closed. We aren't sure when it will open again. It's a similar situation as last year.

As such, we are changing this to a 2-round, 2-day event.

Saturday will be double shotgun on the City course, with one pool in the morning, and another pool in the afternoon.

Sunday will be at the Golf course on tee times per usual. On Friday we'll be offering a PDGA Flex Start and Non-Sanctioned Doubles on the City Course for those looking to get in more rounds while you visist Junction.

A few updates!

Regarding Rounds & Layouts.
After surveying currently registered players, we are decided to stick with 3 rounds over 2 days. As of right now, we will play County and City on Saturday with Shotgun starts. We will play the Golf Course on Sunday with tee times. When we took over the event 2 years ago, the main feedback was to cut it down to 2 days again because players could not make Friday. At the end of the day this a PDGA event. If the longterm feedback is for this is to be a fun event, then we will explore Non-pdga rather than removing rounds or days. TBD on future plans and can't commit to any of that yet.

The County Course will be temporarily modified, with 3 new holes so that we don't play into the wetland area that has flooded in years past. These changes will not be in place until the Thursday before the event, with flags marking the basket locations. We will not have baskets in place until the day of competition(Saturday).

This has been updated to $1500 courtesy of the Junction Tourism Board.

Our event staff was able to commit more time and resources to pull off a 3-day event in previous years.

A common complaint we also had the past 2 years was that players couldn’t make it because it was 3 days. So for this year we are returning it to a 2-day event. We will still have Friday activities for people to enjoy if they want to focus on social activities then.

The sizzler is about way more than disc golf. It's a fantastic event where a group of friends/family get together to spend time, having fun in the sun, sharing meals, supporting the community of junction, and enjoying the river. I really don't want to see this tournament be like all the other tournaments throughout the year, and be just about the competition. The sizzler is special to all of those that have played it and has become a summer tradition. I fear this change is going to drop attendance dramatically. Please dont kill the sizzler. Thanks friends.
