Firstly, I want to give a huge thank you to everyone who attended the Pittsburgh Flying Disc Open this past weekend and trusting the PFD with putting on a great, safe event in these trying times. For those of you who cashed, you should have an email from me confirming your PayPal info. If your PayPal info is different from the email you registered with, please reply by Tuesday evening with the correct email so that I can process your payouts at that time. Finally, I would really appreciate if ... more

The photos of the OB for each hole were the /best/. Thank you!

The course is open today correct?

Yup!

Joseph Thornburg    August 20, 2020 at 11:40pm

I registered for the wrong division. Could I be moved to MP40?

Matt Rosier   August 21, 2020 at 1:18am

Hello Joe. I moved you over to MP40, but want you to be aware that you are currently on the wait list. You will need an MP40 player or a couple of MPO players to drop to get into the event. The open spots in the tournament are for blue tee players (MP50/FPO). If you do not get in, you will obviously receive a full refund.

Joseph Thornburg   August 21, 2020 at 1:37am

Thanks Matt. I appreciate it.

What are the current Covid Rules in the area ie dining, masks, etc?

Matt Rosier   August 19, 2020 at 1:49pm

Nothing outside of the normal. Masks are required inside and where social distancing isn't possible. Dining establishments are open at 25% capacity. The PA health department has a summary here: https://www.governor.pa.gov/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/20200701-SOH-Universal-Face-Coverings-Order.pdf

note that there is really no food near this park, i'd bring your own for sure.

Camping near by?

Eric Nichols   August 19, 2020 at 1:27am

Breakneck campground is the best. Super close to the course. Owners are really great people.

I will not be able to attend this tournament, unfortunately. I would like a refund please. Thank you

All pins are currently set in their tournament positions. I have uploaded all of the tee signs to the pictures section here on DGScene indicating the tournament positions as well as any OB on the hole. I will also have OB printouts at the tournament and will add each hole's OB to the PDGA live scoring app. Hope to have the player's meeting uploaded on Tuesday in case anyone has any questions.

Will pins be in the correct positions on this Saturday? I saw the one week comment, but not sure if that's Saturday or Sunday. Thanks!

Matt Rosier   August 13, 2020 at 11:46am

Hello James. All of the pins are currently set in tournament layout except for hole 13 I think. We are going to try to get that one moved today.

J. Gary Dropcho   August 17, 2020 at 1:59pm

Hole 13 now in tournament position.

Jeff Spring    August 6, 2020 at 1:33pm

Taylor Tritt was in an awful car crash and has been recovering in a hospital in Wisconsin for over a month. Just an FYI that he should be refunded and dropped. He came out of a coma a few weeks ago, but still can not communicate.

Thank you Jeff. We are sending positive thoughts to Taylor and his family.

J R   August 10, 2020 at 9:09pm

For sure. Best to Taylor and his family. Wishing for a speedy and full recovery.

Johnny Sias    August 6, 2020 at 2:24am

Sorry Kevin, I wasn't asking him to do that. I just copied what the TD had in the info about the tournament. I was just curious because MP40 and MP50 are playing different tees. I just want to know what tees I will be playing.

Thanks Eric, Since it was in writing and has been for a while I assumed it was still a go. It wouldn't hurt if you removed it from the info/about section.

Kevin Jacobs   August 6, 2020 at 6:26pm

:)

Matt Rosier   August 10, 2020 at 3:03pm

Hello Johnny. Sorry for the confusion. Because of the different tees, we will not be combining the MP40 and MP50 divisions. MP40 will play from the gold tees and MP50 will play from the blue tees.

Johnny Sias    August 5, 2020 at 9:27pm

A minimum of 8 competitors are required for the MP40 and MP50 divisions. If 8 competitors are not registered in both of these divisions two weeks prior to the event, the divisions will be combined to the MP40 division automatically. There is no minimum requirement for the MPO and FPO fields.

Kevin Jacobs   August 6, 2020 at 12:46am

Johnny, I beg to differ. There is no 8 person minimum (for any tier). The minimum is three, or TD discretion. There is no reason for a 12 person MP50 field to be forced to move to MP40. If anything, if the TD wanted a 8 person minimum, then the 4 person MP40 would be moving to MPO. Just my 2 cents. Respectfully, KJ

Johnny Sias    August 5, 2020 at 8:12pm

If the MP40 and the MP50 are going to be combined what tees are we going to play?

Jeremy Densmore    August 4, 2020 at 1:12pm

Can there just be a rule that Casey DeSmith automatically gets into any tournament he wants to in Pittsburgh? #caseyrule #freecasey

Haha. Let’s go Pens!

Jared Fechter   August 4, 2020 at 9:35pm

That's what I was thinking. Hopefully he can't even make it cause we are still in the mix.

Jeremy Densmore   August 7, 2020 at 11:34pm

So, Casey has plenty of spare time all of a sudden, and we sure can’t blame that epic face plant on him. I think a place in the tourney might cheer him up a bit. #freecasey

Matt Rosier    August 1, 2020 at 6:26pm

I have been getting a lot of questions about spectators at the event. At this time, the plan is to allow for spectators. All spectators will be required to sign a COVID-19 release form and will be asked to adhere to social distancing and mask wearing requirements. More info on any specific requirements will come out closer to the event.

Thanks for clarifying this. Really looking forward to watching some of this as a spectator.

Andrew M   August 21, 2020 at 10:14pm

So do spectators just check in at tournament central?

Matt Rosier   August 21, 2020 at 10:22pm

We'll have a different parking lot for you to check-in at. Instead of turning left into the main parking lot, continue straight and check-in there.

J R    July 20, 2020 at 6:10pm

Does anyone have any idea if Paul McBeth will be participating in this tournament? I see that it's on his 2020 tour schedule that he tweeted. Thanks!

Hello Doug and Ross. Registration was open for the MP40 division for 4 months and I only had one person sign up while the MP50 division has 10 people signed up. The intent was to remove the division, but I didn't get to it fast enough before it bumped up to 4. In terms of giving the last two ... more

Douglas McIntosh   July 20, 2020 at 3:23pm

Thanks for getting back to me, I knew it was last minute, I just didn't realize 4 months ago I was going to have all this free time,

Ross Pancoast   July 23, 2020 at 5:12pm

Understood, back then I had a bunch of other tournaments I was playing but do to circumstances my schedule has freed up a bit. MP40 is harder to find decent size fields these days.
