Firstly, I want to give a huge thank you to everyone who attended the Pittsburgh Flying Disc Open this past weekend and trusting the PFD with putting on a great, safe event in these trying times. For those of you who cashed, you should have an email from me confirming your PayPal info. If your PayPal info is different from the email you registered with, please reply by Tuesday evening with the correct email so that I can process your payouts at that time. Finally, I would really appreciate if you could fill out the Event Feedback form on the PDGA site for the tournament and let us know what we did well and what we can improve on. It was great to have top tier talent back in Pittsburgh after a short hiatus and I would love to have the event become a mainstay on the tour, but I need your feedback for that to happen and to continue to improve. I have uploaded all of the tee signs to the pictures section here on DGScene indicating the tournament positions as well as any OB on the hole. I have been getting a lot of questions about spectators at the event. At this time, the plan is to allow for spectators. All spectators will be required to sign a COVID-19 release form and will be asked to adhere to social distancing and mask wearing requirements. More info on any specific requirements will come out closer to the event.

With Butler County coming out of the yellow phase of Covid restrictions into the green phase the other week, we are all but certain for a go for this event. I have one last triple check out to the state park to confirm that there aren't going to be any late surprises for use, but I expect that we will be getting the absolute go ahead this week. Because of this, I have pushed the open registration back one final time. No matter what, the open registration will happen June 23rd. I will also be moving around some of the division caps at that time based on the current registration, so if you are looking to sign up for an age protected or women's division, please do so before June 23rd. Due to the uncertainty in the schedule for the rest of the year, I am going to delay open registration by pushing it back to May 6th at this time. Hopefully there will be more clarity in the availability of tournaments at this time and more traveling players will be able to determine what their schedule will look like at this point of the year.

Registration for the 2020 Professional Pittsburgh Flying Disc Open opens up tomorrow at 8pm for all age protected divisions, FPO players, and MPO players above 1000 rated!

While the current outlook for near future events is bleak with nearly all events canceled through April, this tournament is scheduled for late August with the expectation that the limitations on gatherings will be no longer in place with the hope that the Coronavirus pandemic has ended. Because of this, registration will continue as planned. In the unlikely event that the tournament must be canceled, all players will recieve a 100% refund (minus PayPal fees) in accordance with PDGA requirements.
