PLAYER MEETING EMAIL:
Thank you for attending the Tennessee States Disc Golf Championship!!
Welcome back to Morristown!
We hope to provide each player with an experience that will last a lifetime, or at least until next year!
On behalf of our team, we want to extend a heartfelt thank you to our sponsors for their incredible support. Their contributions and collaborations played a vital role in making the event a success, and we are grateful for their generosity. Special thanks to Anne Ross, our local coordinator. We appreciate your vision and commitment to creating a memorable player experience. PLEASE help us in thanking our sponsors by supporting their businesses and brands. We truly couldn’t do this without them.
First things first, PLEASE be sure your phone notifies you of incoming emails! This will be the main source of communication for this event. Emails will be sent out daily.
Along those lines, PLEASE read this entire email. A lot of thought went into its contents, and as a wise man once said, “An informed disc golfer is a prepared disc golfer”.
Hosting an event of this size requires much more work on our part and a little more on yours. Please help us create a smooth-running event by carefully reading all correspondence sent from Tim or Chuck. We will try our best to keep our emails concise and informative. The only realistic way to communicate with 500+ players is via email, and while we wish we could speak and interact with ALL of you during our event, the truth is we will only see a small portion of you personally. Hence, the importance of emails.
So, without any further ado, let us get started!!!

Each Pool will have a dedicated TD.
The TD will oversee all aspects of play.
They will make all ruling decisions.
All PDGA rules are in effect.
There is NO 2-meter rule at any course.
The course TD will also oversee any weather-related delays.
Please keep in contact with them for pertinent info.
Course Information/Rules
Course info sheets will go out Thursday morning. Tim is just finishing the OB-line painting and wants any last rule changes sent to him by Wednesday evening so he can lock them in before we send the rules to everyone.
Tee Times ALL 3 Rounds Be sure to check
https://www.pdga.com/tour/event/97665 for your exact tee time. Be sure to check in with your Pool TD as soon as you arrive at your course. Then, report to Hole 1, 5 mins prior to your tee time. On EACH DAY, there is a distinct possibility of no-shows, which will require the course TD to swap positions in tee times. Be prepared mentally for this possibility. It is not what we or the TD wants, but it is an inevitability, so if you are delayed or asked to tee earlier, we apologize. If you are the last person on your card, be mentally and physically prepared for this possibility.
If you know that you cannot attend on any given day, please notify us via email @ [email redacted], include Name and Division please.
We will utilize PDGA Digital scoring. The code is “tnstates”, for easy reference. PDGA Digital Scoring or Paper are acceptable forms of scoring. UDISC is not approved for scoring. Players may use Udisc for personal record keeping, but they must also keep a PDGA digital or hardcopy score as well.
REMEMBER THE SCORING RULES: ALL PLAYERS MUST KEEP SCORE FOR THE GROUP!
Digital Leaderboard - We will be using the PDGA digital leaderboard. You can go to
https://www.pdga.com/tour/event/97665 to see your tee times. Your tee time will be on the line next to your name.
WEATHER - There is a chance of thunderstorms each day. Our weather protocol is consistent with PDGA recommendations.
If lightning is detected within 15 miles, Course TD’s will stop play. Course TD’s will blow 3 blasts with the air horn and repeat this 30 seconds later. All players must mark their lie and head to shelter. After 30 mins, Course TD’s and event TD’s will evaluate conditions for a restart. Additional lightning strikes will add 30 mins to the delay. Restart information will be emailed to all players. Please keep a constant check on your email, or check with the course TD, or both.
If play cannot be resumed for Rounds 1 or 2, the round will be postponed until the next morning. Sunrise begins at 6am locally, so tee times to resume play could potentially begin at 7am the next day. Please be prepared for this possibility.
If weather stops play on the Final Day and cannot be resumed, there are 2 options.
Option 1 - If the entire field at a given course has completed the same 9 holes before the delay and the weather will not allow for a restart, the round will be shortened to those 9 holes. A 9 hole round will not receive a rating. If all players have completed the same 13 holes and the round is shortened to 13 holes, the round will receive a rating.
Option 2 - If the entire field at a given course cannot complete the same 9 holes before the delay, the round will be dropped and the event will effectively become a 2 round event.
Obviously, we sincerely hope none of this comes to pass but we want you to understand the procedures in place.

Trophies – A lot of thought was put into selecting these trophies and they are not cheap. Coming from folks who have competed for over 20 years in this game (Chuck, Mike, Tim), we feel our trophy “case” has much more value, sentiment, and personal pride than the mountain of discs we have collected over the years.
The following divisions had enough players at the time of ordering to qualify for a trophy: MPO, FPO, MP40, MP55, MP60, MP65, MA1(5), FA1(3), MA40(4), FA40(4), MA50(5), MA55(2), FA55(1), MA60(5), MA65(2), MA70(4), MA75(2), MA2(5), FA2(1), MA3(5), FA3(2), MA4(5), FA4(2) - Am numbers in parenthesis represent trophy payout depth.
At the end, playoffs may be needed to determine divisional winners.
Ties for first will go to a playoff, sudden death.
Panther Creek - Start at Hole 1, play until a winner is crowned.
Lorino - Playoff loop - Hole 1,2,3,8, and 9.
Cherokee - Playoff loop - Hole 1,2,3,4, and 9.
Kiwanis - Playoff loop - Hole 1,2,3,8, and 9.
Mossy - Playoff loop - Hole 1,2,3,4, and 9.
Play will continue within the loop until a winner is crowned.
TAKE NOTE, Players will have 5 minutes to check-in for the playoff once all players have finished in the division.
CHECK YOUR SCORES when you finish your final round. If you think you are in the playoff hunt, stay close to tournament central/check in with your course TD to ensure you don’t miss your playoff chances.
ANY PLAYER NOT AT THE TOURNAMENT CENTRAL AFTER THE 5-MINUTE DEADLINE WILL FORFEIT THEIR SPOT.
