Hello Everyone,

Thank you for signing up for the Swap Shop Open! We are excited to bring this event to Griggs reservoir and offer an opportunity to play the course in a layout never before seen at Griggs. In this email you will find the schedule, expected course rules, and a contact info for any questions you may have.

Schedule:
Registration opens strictly at 8:30AM. Remember, round 1 is using the used discs provided by Disc Golf Mart. It will be first come first serve for selection of discs after registration opens. All mandatories and flagged areas are only in play for round 2, you can ignore them in round 1.

9:15 AM - Player meeting and Card Assignments
9:30 AM - Round 1 - Normal Griggs Layout, only used discs acquired that morning
~11:30 AM Lunch Break
~12:15 PM Round 2 players meeting
~12:30 PM Round 2 start
~2:45 PM Round 2 finishes. Opportunity to provide feedback on layout.

Round 2 layout will be available on UDISC. Pictures of the approximate holes and the layout rules are uploaded in the pictures section on DGScene. Temporary hole tees will be marked by white paint and flags. Baskets not in use for round 2 will have black bags covering them. Alternate tees for holes in the main area of the park are listed and accurate on UDISC and a summary below.

Main course tees and baskets in use.
-Hole 1 tee to Practice basket
-Hole 2 Temp tee to Hole 2 short basket
-Hole 2 tee to Hole 3 basket (Par 4)
-Hole 17 tee to Hole 6 basket
-Hole 9 tee to Hole 10 basket
-Hole 11 tee to Hole 14 basket
-Hole 15 plays as a hazard island. If you do not clear in bounds, play your lie as normal with a 1 stroke penalty.

Main layout Holes 4, 5, 7, 8, and 18 will play as normal.

All other holes will use the normal tees and baskets or temp tees and temp baskets. please refer to UDISC and the pictures section for following the layout correctly.

This is the first time the park has allowed disc golf outside of the normal layout. Please be good stewards of the park and the game. Pedestrians have the right of way and please be polite and cordial with all other park users.

Round 2 safari layout and course rules are uploaded in the pictures section. Hole distance estimates will be posted in the coming weeks. We are excited to try this layout in partnership with the parks department and river access groups. Please be respectful to all pedestrians or park officials.

A couple notes:
-Mandatories are marked with orange arrows in the pictures
-Paved/gravel path will be out of bounds, but is not marked in the pictures for clarity
-Have caution coming back from the upper area holes to hole 16's tee
-We are interested in feedback after everyone plays the layout. The goal is to tune this to being a fairly challenging layout that can host a higher level event. This is your opportunity to help us figure out what works/feels right vs. what needs to change.
