Email sent to all players on May 14th:
Hello Everyone!
I wanted to take a moment and thank you all for signing up for the 2023 Spring Fling Pro Day!
We are just 2 weeks away from the Spring Fling @ Birds Nest on Sunday, May 28th and I wanted to make sure a few details were covered with you all!
We will be playing Birds Nest Condor layout. Details for the layout are still being worked out and will be assessed this week and next for flooding. At this point, the tentative layout is no ...

Joel will send out a correction via email later but pros do not play 16s tee pad, they will play regular 17 to the long as Condor hole 13

Will the course be available to practice Saturday or are Ams playing that day?

Email sent on May 23rd:
We're less than a week away from the Spring Fling Pro Day, and I wanted to give you a few more details from the previous email.
We have nearly finalized the Condor layout for and I've attached a map and hole-by-hole description and rule sheet. Barring a huge amount of rain this week, things are drying out but hole 12 is still a concern with the amount of water. The description sheet describes our alternate placement if things don't dry out. We will ma ...

Will course be mowed for the Event?
It is Very bad but might be my only chance to play a tournament before Masters Worlds. They are going to have to move one hole completely surrounded by water to maybe the hill about 75 feet left and I don’t know how they will do the double island for 16 as the entire area is a swamp and filled with swimming ducks.
We need patience. We had a week or more of rain, nearly setting records for the month of May, stopping two days ago, making some things very wet. The forecast this week is looking good to dry things out, but we will continue to evaluate conditions as the week moves on. If we have to move a hole or two, we will do so as needed.
I know as I drove through it from New Mexico to here on Friday and the guys I saw on the course said they hadn’t seen water in the pond for almost 5 years.

For those of us who aren’t familiar with the course is it intuitive when you are on the course for descriptions such as hole 7 temp tee to short 9 basket?
The locals might know what you mean but I have no clue.
:)
I’m looking forward to playing my first tournament in Colorado and playing with some familiar faces I see from around the country playing.
Thanks in advance for your reply,
Keith
That’s what I said. I was standing on hole 14 original course on top of hill. Original course lays down towards silo and the other way looks like it played to Innova or blue basket following your layout on UDisc of which you did an excellent job! I didn’t know the course but was able to ... more
Yes, the hole toward the houses will have a temp/permanent basket. The original basket in that location was stolen a couple weeks ago. FYI, I flagged out the islands last night.
Thanks for everything I’ll be out there later this week and look forward to seeing it marked for the Event!

Field size has been reduced to 90 which means there will be 18 holes on the Condor layout, giving us some flexibility with the layout if things continue to be very wet, but also allows for a positive change on one hole. Initial maps will be available soon.

Sorry if that came across nasty..... I was just curious, I thought that the "Flings" were a given for that division. Hoping to see at least 1 other player. P.S. Thank you Joel
Donna - When we setup the DGScene events, we copy the prior year. any divisions that were empty/removed the prior year don't automatically come over in that process. If you ever see a division you'd like to play for one of our events, just let us know and we'll open it up!

Why no pro womens age protected divisions?
I’m sure Joel would be happy to add it in, all that’s needed is to ask for the specific division
Hi Donna, in year's past there has been no interest in the pro women's age protected groups. However, I have just added FP40.

Will this event be PDGA sanctioned?
Just got the sanctioning done, so it shows on this page now.
The ams are playing that day. Years past after about 4pm the ams are finished and you can get out there for some practice.
