In the fall of 2018, the Michigan Disc Golf Organization (MDGO) decided to split off the Junior Divisions from the Discraft Michigan State Championship in an effort to boost poor attendance and to create a friendlier atmosphere for the junior level players in Michigan. The MDGO sought proposals to run a state championship level event catered for the junior players and Black Ace Disc Golf out of Grand Blanc was the proposal that was selected.
Several changes have been made to the event in an ef ...

So any kids above mj8/fj8 will be doing 2 rounds correct. If so what will th younger kid be doing during that time.
What Shawn said. Pizza Party —-> Pro Clinic -—>06/08 Awards —->Donation Prize Table. I am going to guess the break will be 90 minutes or so in total.
Thank you guys for the quick answer back. But Emma has been on the tourney train for the past 2 months and said she wants a break on tourneys till states.

I would like to play in the 18 and under division but may have to work in the afternoon/evening. What time can I expect to be done with my afternoon round?
I would expect finishing 4-5? That is my best guess as I have never run a Juniors only event before.
Thanks for the quick response! Much appreciated. I really hope I can make it, I’ll have to ask work for the day off and hope for the best

The cut off for me ordering trophies for this event will be this Friday, August 2nd at noon. We are only ordering trophies for divisions with players in them and for the current quantity of players in that division.

if there are going to be rounds of 18, which holes will be used for the tournament?
Mark Stephens July 17, 2019 at 6:31pm
Thanks everyone for registering so far. For anyone that registered BEFORE this Sunday, I have this question for you. We are providing lunch for your player and up to 2 adults. Can you please tell me how many lunches in group (not counting your player). Thanks this is assisting me in having a general idea on how many we are going to need.
Also, I now have the pro clinic lined up. It will take place during an extended lunch period.

1 round or 2 for MJ 10?
PDGA Yourh Safety 1.13 recommends 06/08 age brackets to only play 18 holes. All others are 36 holes.

Thank you Mark and Disc Baron. This is going to be spectacular
Tara St. Aubin June 11, 2019 at 4:12am
MJ6?
Yes, I will be adding that on. Did you see my previous reply that they would be playing 1 round only.
Tara St. Aubin May 6, 2019 at 4:58am
Please add a J6 division as well my 6 yr old wants to play and putting him with 8yr olds wouldn’t be fair. Thanks
Just as a FYI, that division would only play 1 round as well is the case for MJ/FJ08 as that is the PDGA recommended way to handle those divisions per 1.13 Youth Safety in the Competition Manual

I would like to thank Discraft Disc Golf for once again being a great champion for the sport we all love in the #GreatDiscState. Black Ace Disc Golf is proud to announce Discraft as the title sponsor for the Michigan Junior State Championships!
We would also like to acknowledge Disc Baron as a partner of this event as well. They will be helping to create a premier junior level here in Michigan.
We are still in the early stages for the planning of this event as of yet but here are some de ...

What about MJ6?
My youngest son has his number & is interested.
Pat & David, after some consideration, we will add in the MJ8 & FJ8 division. However, utilizing the PDGA Youth Safety recommendations, these divisions will play only 1 round.
Erich Partee February 6, 2019 at 1:42pm
How many rounds.
Hi Erich, that is correct. The 6 and 8 division awards will take place during lunch, along with the pro clinic and side games. The younger kids and their guardians would then be free to leave.
