everyone will be playing the same layout. plan on shorts 1st round and longs 2nd unless time is not permitting of longs 2nd round, which I dont think will be an issue.

I do not remember putting on our morning paper which Robert my brother read from that open and adv will play them regardless. If he said it, then that is my mistake and we should have had open and adv play longs second round, but my intention was to have everyone play the same tees. If playing longs is really all the fuss is about then I am sorry you feel that you got shafted but seriously is that really worth continuing to complain? Constructive criticism is more then welcome. We haven't deleted any post, rather we have allowed some venting that other TDs would have just nixed. We hope to see you again at another event, and perhaps we will be better able to please you.

Then most people got back with like less than 5 minutes to tee, so you run to your hole and can't find anyone on your card because you are on the wrong teebox?
You don't need confusion 2 minute before your teeing off a tourney round and to pretty much say he'd rather put the am2s and am3s on longs is wrong, people know that am1s and pros take longer and a TD should know that for sure.

I wouldnt have played had I known there wouldnt be long tees. Tds always make up the cards and check them at the end. But that was to much workjust like telling cassuals to leave or actually playing a tournament like it should be played.

Wow. I have been to many tournaments where I had to fill out part of the card. There were not people playing on the course, just hanging out. I was ok with it because they were not holding people up (I wish they were not as loud as they were though). There was a players meeting after lunch... Did you just miss it? Closing a hole was not the TD's fault, and it was an extra hole anyway. Pro's can take all the time they want, unless it includes playing after the sun sets.

This was the first tournament in years, enjoy the game, and stop complaining.

At Players meeting we told people that IF ALL cards were in by 12:30 Pro and Am1 would be playing longs. Also told we would give at least 40 minutes for lunch. Fact last card didn't come in until after 12:40 thus we decided all would play shorts per what we said in players meeting. Also we gave minimum 50 minutes for lunch rather then the shortened 40 minutes we had said in the players meeting so if people were in a rush to get out the holes they might want to think about managing their own time better.

I understand we are never going to make everyone happy, and yes we are human and make mistakes, but you are going to find problems with even the best run events, someone will always be able to point out something they didn't like.... Prices too high, payouts too small, didn't start on time, started too early, OMG what were they thinking with that temp hole, and the list goes on. If you have something constructive to say by all means post it on the open forum. If you want to complain, we are all adults here feel free to take us aside and address us as such, perhaps your voice will be heard and something done about it in the future.

I have never been to a PDGA tournament where everyone plays shorts. Or even all play longs. There are divisions for a reason. No player meeting at lunch? People were running around like crazies. Not to mention all the casuals on the coarse. I hope you got your money back for closing the course. You didn't enforce it. Also to close a hole at the last minute? This event needed more people that know how to run a tournament. I registered online and still didnt have a card when I checked-in. We even had to fill out our own names on the scorecards.....lol

It is well known that Open and advanced take a little more time and put a little more thought into their shots, sometimes it's needed to play well.

I would agree that the longs are amazing, I would love to run an event that people had the opportunity to play longs Brian, After all scores tallied was nearly 5:00 with some people not knowing how to add. Awards got started around 5:15 and ended around 5:35 after the advanced playoff and CTP throw off. After people got done picking there plastic and we got loaded up and out of there it was nearly 6:30 at which point the sun was already starting to go down. Had this event been played in June it may have been Long/Long for everyone, but it is October and the days have been getting shorter for awhile now. Not to mention it was the ADV and PROS on the shorts that took the longest, why would I want to make the people that take the longest play the harder tees? Next time before you complain perhaps you should sit in our position as TD getting everything ready in advance, including paying the the course to be closed so that if needed we could remove casuals from the course. Getting it sanctioned on short notice as we get into the state after the MDGO schedule was set for the year. Be happy there was an event to come to at a great course such as cass rather then a pitch and putt like firefighters where even a novice on a good day can compete with any pro. As for 15b, everyone had to deal with it, not just you. It was designed to be a technical shot something that takes skill, if anything I would consider removing 16b as it is just a bomb shot where big arms can make up some strokes as long as they don't shank the shot.
