CHECK-IN

Check-in with Rob at the metal barn that is 50’ from Hole 1. It is at the very end of the driveway, just west of the house but east of Hole 1.

BREAKFAST

Darrin’s daughter will be selling breakfast items before the round. I believe it’s bagel type items (sandwiches, etc.), water, sports drinks, etc. I think the prices will be $2-$5 depending on item. Bring small bills.

LATE WITHDRAWAL / NO-SHOW

To cancel, text or call your name and team name, with comment you are canceling to 785-764-2229.

PARKING -

Due to the recent rain, park along 303rd Street. Darrin has mowed both sides of the road to make room.


RESTROOMS

Restrooms will be available at the house before the round. If you need to use it during the round, go to the front door and knock. Mrs. Clauder will then let you in.


SCORING

We are using one paper scorecard per hole. Your score cards are pre-made with your team name and can be picked up during check in. You should take turns on who takes score. Ideally, each person scores 3 holes. You will need to complete the ‘Team Order’ and declare which holes your team member will tee off on holes 7-12. I made this video to help explain.

COURSE CONDITIONS

The course is wet. There is standing water on a couple of holes but luckily they did not affect holes 13-18 for the Tough Shot. You can take casual relief if your disc is in the water as long as it’s on the line of play and farther back from the basket.

PLAYER PACKS

Amateurs will receive a Maverick Disc Golf towel. There is also payout for the top 40%.

For Pros, this event is payout only. The pay tables are attached to this email (or under pictures on dgscene).

WATER

I intend to bring a water cooler to the course, BUT bring enough water for yourself. The water on the course is intended as a backup.


AWARDS / PAYOUTS


I have 3 medals for First Place for both Pro and Amateur winners. Ties for First Place will play off using Best Shot format and starting on Hole 1. If it goes longer than 6 holes, it will remain best shot until a winner is decided.

Amateur Payouts are redeemable at the store. Unless you tell me otherwise, they will be listed per player, not per team. Review the pay table and divide by 3 for the per player payout.

All payout vouchers for all Maverick DG vended tournaments in 2026 expire 12/31/2026.

Pro Payouts - Ideally I want to write checks at the tournament. This way I can pay each person individually. If I pay via PayPal, it will be Goods & Services and would REALLY like to pay it out to the same person that paid for the entry.

Hole 1 380' Par 3
Beyond barbed wire up the right side and beyond orange stakes up left side and behind basket is OB. Proceed to last in bounds with a 1 stroke penalty. Hole 2 fairway is in bounds.

Hole 2 1240' Par 6
Beyond staked fairway down both sides and or barb wire is OB. Proceed to last in bounds with a one stroke penalty. Creek OB if surrounded by water. Proceed to last in bounds with a 1 stroke penalty.

Hole 3 430' Par 4
Beyond staked fairway up left side and beyond barb wire up right side is OB. Proceed to last inbounds with a 1 stroke penalty. If Barn Mando is missed, it is also OB. If this occurs move to drop zone in the entrance with a one stroke penalty. Creek is OB if fully surrounded by water. Play from last inbound point with a one stroke penalty.

Hole 4 200' Par 3
Creek OB if fully surrounded by water. Play from last inbound point with a one stroke penalty.

Hole 5 253' Par 3
Pond OB if surrounded by water, proceed to Drop Zone with a one stroke penalty.

Hole 6 271' Par 3
60' Island staked green surrounding the basket or pond OB if surrounded by water, proceed to Drop Zone with a one stroke penalty. Good news if your shot was so terrible that you are beyond the stake tall grass you are inbounds.

Hole 7 650' Par 4
Mandatory - If Mando is missed, play from your lie and make the mando or re-tee for your 3rd shot. Tall grass is OB up the right side of the fairway. Proceed to last inbounds with a 1 stroke penalty. You can play from either side in the short grass.

Hole 8 300' Par 3
Main road and beyond OB. Barbed wire beyond basket is OB. Any OB throw plays from the last inbound point with a one stroke penalty.

Hole 9 540' Par 5
Creek OB if fully surrounded by water. Play from last inbound point with a one stroke penalty.

Hole 10 530' Par 4
Creek OB if fully surrounded by water. Play from last inbound point with a one stroke penalty. Pond OB if surrounded by Water, Proceed to Drop Zone with a one stroke penalty. If island is established you play from last inbounds with a 1 stroke penalty.

Hole 11 255' Par 3
Creek or Pond OB if fully surrounded by water. Play from last inbound point with a one stroke penalty.

Hole 12 535' Par 4
Creek and/or Pond OB if fully surrounded by water. Play from last inbound point with a one stroke penalty. Mando must be right side of the 1st tree past the driveway. If Mando is missed proceed to staked area Drop Zone by Mando tree with a 1 stroke penalty.

Hole 13 851' Par 5
Hit any of the trees just off the tee pad and you must read the sign out loud to all other players on the card. Hit the house and your round is over. You take last place in the tournament. Get in your car and go home. Hide in shame for the rest of your days.

Creek OB if fully surrounded by water. Play from last inbound point with a one stroke penalty.

Hole 16 275' Par 3

OB if fully surrounded by water in moat off the tee pad. Proceed to Drop Zone with a one stroke penalty. If moat is hit 2nd, 3rd or 4th shot. Play from last inbound point with a one stroke penalty. If no water is present on tournament day, no OB!

Hole 18 400' Par 3
Beyond staked fairway up left side is OB. Proceed to last in bound point with a 1 stroke penalty.

Explanation of Hole Formats:
Holes 1-6 - Best Shot (typical doubles where you take the best shot as decided by the team)
Holes 7-12 - Alternate Shot. Your team chooses the order of players prior to the round starting. You alternate the order of throwing. Each team member can only drive from the tee twice for these 6 holes.
Holes 13-18 - Tough Shot. The opposite team choose which shot your team must take with one exception. As soon as one person 'holes out', then your team is finished with the hole.

Further explanation and examples.

Best shot. Easiest to understand. All 3 players tee off. Those players choose which shot they want to take. All 3 players throw again from that lie and then determine which shot is best. Continue this format until you hole out.

Alternate Shot. The team is Bob, Jim and Ralph and that's the order. Bob can only tee off for 2 holes. Jim can only tee off for 2 holes, same with Ralph. The tee shots have to be declared prior to the round starting.
Hole 7 - Bob tees off. Jim has to take the second shot. Ralph has to take the third shot if needed. If they still haven't holed out, Bob takes the fourth shot.
Hole 8 - The team pre-determiend that Ralph will tee off on 8. Since Bob is after Ralph, Bob throws the second shot and throws it in. Good job Bob.
Hole 9 - The team pre-determined that Bob was going to tee off of 9. Even though Bob threw in on 8, he tees off on 9 because that was pre-determined. Jim is next in the throwing order, than Ralph.
Hole 10 - Bob cannot tee off. Matter of fact, he can't tee off again until Hole 13 because he already drove 2x. The team pre-determined that Ralph will tee on 10. Bob has to throw second, then Jim, then Ralph if needed, etc.
Hole 11 & 12. Since Bob and Ralph have both drove from the tee 2x each, Jim has to drive on holes 12 & 13. Both cases Ralph is next, then Bob, etc.

Before starting the round, the team has to declare which holes Bob, Jim and Ralph will tee off from. It does not matter what the order to tee is, but after the teeing off, the order must follow the pre-determined 'batting order'.

Tough Shot. Opposite of best shot. All 3 players tee off. The opposite team(s) on the card choose which shot (i.e. worst shot) that the team is required to take. All 3 players throw again from that lie and the opposite teams again determine the worst shot. Where tough shot and worst shot differ is when you hole out. Example: in worst shot Bob throws in from 100' (or makes a 45' putt). Jim and Ralph would then need to also throw in from 100' (or make a 45' putt) otherwise the opposite team will choose the 'worst' shot that doesn't go in. In tough shot, once you hole out, you're done.

Under the Pictures tab you will find the Results and Payout per Team and merchandise payout per person for Amateurs. Results are also listed under the Results tab. I apologize that some the Amateur results are by team and not by person. There was a data entry error and would be proplematic to fix.

As a reminder, Amateur payouts are redeemable at Maverick Disc Golf in Olathe. Am payouts expire 12/31/2026.
