Players email that went out this morning: Good morning,
You are receiving this email because you are registered to play in the Lake Ridge "Winter" Pro-Am on Saturday, July 5, 2025. You are responsible for all of the information below:
Arrival and Check-In
Check-in will take place on the pro shop patio beginning at 7:30 am, and will run until 8:15 am. Please check in with either Amanda or with me. You may NOT warm up on the course. Use the practice basket behind the shop and the nets for any pre-round warm up.
We will have a brief player's meeting at 8:15 before we send groups to their starting holes. Group have been posted, though they are subject to change up until the player's meeting:

PDGA Live scoring will be our official scoring method for this event. Per rule, all players must keep score for their card. The access code is: winter
What to Expect
Round One will consist of two loops of the course, playing to the blue "B" targets. Round Two will consist of two loops of the course, playing to the orange "A" targets. Tee areas will be marked by flags.
We'll serve lunch between rounds, sponsored by Fortune Favors the Boldens. We have cold cut sandwiches and chips, and we have some pasta salad and chick pea salad for our vegetarian friends.
Course Rules
Out of Bounds:
Any disc that completely leaves the property, such as over the fence on hole 9, or into/across the road on hole 5, is out of bounds.
Golf greens (the finest cut of grass around the golf holes) are out of bounds.
Hazard:
There are several bunkers on the course, which used to be filled with sand, but have become overgrown. These bunkers are in-play, and play as hazards.
If your disc comes to rest in a bunker, play it from where it lies, but add a one stroke penalty. In most cases, the lip of the bunker is clearly defined, but there will be an area flush with the fairway that can make it tough to determine where the bunker begins. If you visually follow the shape of the obvious boundaries, then you'll be able to judge the overall shape of the bunker and determine whether a disc is in or out. If it's unclear, the card must make their best determination as a group.
Relief Areas:
There are a few areas marked by red stakes, most notably on holes 1 and 9. If your disc lands in one of these areas, you must take relief from the marked area. Relief is handled exactly like Out of Bounds, meaning your group determines where the disc entered the relief area and you establish your lie one meter in-bounds from that spot. There is no penalty stroke applied.
Golf Greens
If your disc lands in a golf green, please walk gently to retrieve it, taking the most direct path to your disc. If your disc strikes the green it will likely leave a divot, which generally appears as a small dot of damage on the green. Please tamp the divot back down gently with your toe. Please otherwise avoid walking on the greens, and under no circumstances should you roll your cart across the greens.
Playoffs
If there is a tie for first place in any division at the end of the second round, we will proceed to a playoff. Beginning on hole 1, players will throw to the blue "B" targets until one player scores better than the other(s) on a hole.
Misc.
At the time of this email being sent, registration is closed and there is no waitlist. Any withdrawals will not be refunded.
The pro shop usually opens around 7:30 am, and bathrooms are available inside. It's going to be hot, so be sure to hydrate and bring plenty of water. We'll have some water available for everyone as well.
We'll hand out awards immediately after the second round and/or playoffs.
Everyone is invited to join us at Water's End Brewery, in Dillingham Square, following the event.
When you see Tony, the groundskeeper, thank him for all the hard work he's done on the course!
We look forward to seeing you all on Saturday!
Sincerely,
Matthew Bolden, TD
