Does hole 1 not have a short anymore?

Walter Black   July 23, 2022 at 2:51am

While the course remains a work in progress right up to next Friday, hole 1 currently does not have a short pad.

Cesar Hernandez   July 27, 2022 at 11:22pm

Are there Tee Pad assignments?

Walter Black   July 28, 2022 at 1:00am

Rec men and women, juniors, MA60 and MA70 will all play from the short pads everybody else is playing from the longs.

Jake and I went out to GHC today and did a little work. Changes are as follows.

Hole 3: Cut a few limbs to place the long pad back in the tree line extending the hole by about 20ft. (and place the pad in the shade of the trees). Cut limbs to clear a fairway on the left side for lefty backhand/righty flick. Added a short pad.

Hole 5: Eliminated the short pad. (This hole is more about accuracy and, likely, your ability to scramble. Distance isn't a major factor.)

Hole 8: Cleaned ... more

Great info Walter. Do you know yet if MA2 will play shorts or longs?

Walter Black   July 21, 2022 at 3:16am

MA2 is longs. Divisions playing shorts are Rec Men and Rec Women, MA60 and MA70.

I've deleted the maps that were located in the picture section. I've put a link to the current course map in Google Earth here in the comments. This is an accurate representation of the course but is not exact. We won't have exact measurements until the course is set up on Friday, July 29th for practice. You can play around with the measure tool if you like to get approximate hole lengths.

What groups are playing which holes?

Walter Black   July 18, 2022 at 10:11pm

Rec men, rec women, MA60, MA70 from short

Ric Murry    July 14, 2022 at 1:29am

Jake - I see yellow and blue lines on the course map. Can you tell me what that means?

Walter Black   July 14, 2022 at 7:36pm

Ric, the yellow and blue lines are for the long and short layout. The long course is harder this year so we are adding short tee pads on about half the holes. There was a bit of a test run of the course this past Sunday that changed up some of the holes. We'll be updating the map this weekend to reflect all the changes.

Ric Murry   July 14, 2022 at 8:42pm

Thanks, Walter.

Brent Crowe    July 3, 2022 at 1:18am

Looking over the map, I can see that some of the holes have changed significantly from last year’s layout, as in they've moved locations entirely. But it also appears that some of them that are in the same general area have changed slightly as well. Is this true, or is it just the map being not quite 100% spot on? Could you explain the differences? I’m asking because I live too far away to make it there for a practice round.

Hey Brent. Yes this years layout is going to be fairly different than last years. The baseball fields on the back nine have been removed which made several holes substantially less challenging. So, we have now added 4 holes out on the peninsula.

Jake Rodee   July 3, 2022 at 3:17pm

As we get closer, there will be a more detailed map posted with a course preview.

Brent Crowe   July 3, 2022 at 10:22pm

Thanks!

Is the course open to play for the public or do I need to wait until the Friday before the tournament?

Jake Rodee   June 18, 2022 at 2:00pm

This is a temporary course that will only be available the weekend of the event.

Dan Brown    June 12, 2022 at 12:09am

Any word on player pack?

Jake Rodee   June 12, 2022 at 10:14am

Players pack will be a Georgia Games shirt and an Innova disc

David Klein    June 1, 2022 at 3:26pm

Is this tournament only open to Georgia residents - or would an Alabamian be allowed to play?

Jake Rodee   June 1, 2022 at 5:26pm

Anyone is welcome to play.

Cesar Hernandez    June 1, 2022 at 12:22am

Are you having an FA3? My wife and daughter would like to come up to the tournament with me
