Jake and I went out to GHC today and did a little work. Changes are as follows.
Hole 3: Cut a few limbs to place the long pad back in the tree line extending the hole by about 20ft. (and place the pad in the shade of the trees). Cut limbs to clear a fairway on the left side for lefty backhand/righty flick. Added a short pad.
Hole 5: Eliminated the short pad. (This hole is more about accuracy and, likely, your ability to scramble. Distance isn't a major factor.)
Hole 8: Cleaned up the right side of the fairway cutting tree limbs back. Shortened the long pad by about 30ft to open up a risky but accessible left line for lefty backhand/righty flick.
We continue to tweak the course to create layouts for that are playable for almost everyone but still creates scoring separation and tests player skill.
As it stands today, both layouts are a par 62. The long layout comes in at approximately 7120ft. The short layout is approximately 6055ft.
